    Good review. Bought two 100AH a few months ago for my teardrop. They do state now that their 100AH have low temp cut off. Haven't seen a teardown or a test for them yet though. I use a Victron wireless battery monitor that will cut off my Victron converter and Victron smart charger so it wouldn't be a problem for my use.

    Love your tear-downs, as I'm interested in getting an electric trolling motor for my kayak - and need a battery(s). May even go with a 24 volt setup, if I can "swing" it...!
    (Don't get old, and have nearly no money to "play with", like me! Never knew I'd out-live my bank account and savings...!). Haha!

    Nice testing, I like the short circuit test. I'm glad you included it. I suggest using a load of .2 c which should match the battery manufacturer's specs. Did you get any discharge graphs from the battery manufacturer? I would really like to see someone do multiple charge and discharge tests, more like several hundred. The over current test is also important, would like to see.

    Perfect video! I bought the Timeusb lithium battery on their official website, and 12v100ah just for $299. I've been using it for a month without any problems so far. I think it's more cost-effective!

    Would like to see more tear downs of batteries in the 20-50AH range. 100AH would be overkill for my boat unless I was going to be out for multiple days and relied on it without charging.

    Thanks for the great review. It is interesting that 12V 100 Ah batteries torn down earlier this year during reviews by a couple of other reviewers post on UA-cam had different cells in them than the pouch cells in the battery you tore down. I wonder if Enjoybot has switched and will have the type yours did from here on out, or ??? Both of the other two reviewers also remarked that build quality was good, especially for a relatively low cost Lithium. So that's consistent anyways.

    jeremy, have you done a video on the differences, good and bad between pouch, prismatic,c ylindrical cells? i have noticed in almost all the 100ah units that the actual form factor of the cells and BMS is ALOT smaller than the case. do the cells need the extra space for anything?? can you do video on taking the 100ah cell/BMS package and transplanting into a smaller case?
    keep up the good work! i love your testing and analysis. i did also notice only AMPED batteries on your list, but several "its a good battery" in some reviews. maybe explain why some batteries make the list and others dont?

    Interesting battery cell option. Never seen that type in any reviews. Yes, I would like you to void a 6Ah battery. Curious to see if it holds the same standards as the 100Ah and cell type. So when you leave a battery store for long periods do you not full charge? I noticed that battery label, + or - 50% CAP. and charge every 3 months.

      That is a great question!! From the outside, the case looks exactly the same. The cells are the same chemistry and they were very secure in this pack. The Chevy Volt uses similar cells. The only downside to the pouch cells is that they don't have a vent. But... They are LiFeP04 so overheating and thermal runaway is not as big of a deal as in other chemistries. Thanks for watching!

    I bought this battery for my kayak trolling motor build, and so far it's working great! The only thing that concerns me is that the internals of yours looks different than the internals of some other battery breakdown reviews of the same battery. Is it normal for battery manufacturers to change internal cell types like this?

    • @iceholepower8012
      @iceholepower8012  2 роки тому +1

      I was pretty surprised by it. I watched the same videos when researching this battery. I did ask them why they changed it and they didn't really answer my question and offered to send me another battery. I don't necessarily see these cells as a bad thing. They are really well protected and they pulled way over capacity. Thanks for watching!

    What's your opinion on charger sensitivity? Most onboard automatic boat chargers don't really have lithium battery capability listings. Will it shorten battery life capacity? Or void warranty?

    • @iceholepower8012
      @iceholepower8012  2 роки тому +1

      They won't shorten capacity or damage the battery. They just won't fully charge the battery. The only thing that they probably won't do is wake the battery up if it goes into sleep mode.

    • @chrisberger3768
      @chrisberger3768 2 роки тому +1

      How much under fully charged might we be talking? I'm researching with plans to upgrade trolling motor boat batteries next spring on a 24v system... Sounds like I could probably stick with my charger ( Promariner gen 3 pro sport 15) until it fails out on me and upgrade chargers then. Also... What's sleep mode? Thanks Jeremy 👍

    • @iceholepower8012
      @iceholepower8012  2 роки тому +1

      I just looked up the specs. I think you will be good. Sleep mode is low voltage protection. It basically puts your battery in hibernation. It's pretty rare, you will have to drain it and let it sit before that were to happen.

    Any thoughts on LiFePo4 batteries used for running a portable wood pellet smoker grill? They appear to take anywheres from 250-500 watts of power maximum, but that's only during the igniter's initial burn phase. Can a guy just do a power formula calc? Or is it more in depth to figure out maximum watt consumption, and for how long? Just wondering what size battery I'd need to power a smoker for an entire day, say 10-13hrs.

      I have a 12V small Green Mountain smoker that I have powered off of a power box in the past. The ignition sequence on mine pulls 8 amps and only lasts a few minutes. After that the fan and auger doesn't pull much (.75A if I recall correctly) . I would go with at least a 30Ah. Check out the pics below of mine.
