  • Fred and Nate visit Jeff and Linda Corey's 19,000 tap operation. They manage 14,000 taps and boil anoit 5000 taps from a neighbor. the entire ooeratio. is handled by (3) people: Jeff, Linda and Chuck. We learn about the story and history and modern updates of sugaring in Fletcher, Vermont - Franklin County.
Jeff talks through evolving into the MES Steam evaporator. Why did Jeff and Linda decide to boil with steam? Why did Clayton Christie walk through that door one evening and answer Jeff's question about the secret to steam?
Stories like this are the soul of maple.

Proud to be related to them! They are the best - and they've got our youngest (11yo) counting the days until he can be hired at the sugarhouse. He LOVES when he gets to be at the sugarhouse. It has been something to see the evolution of this sugarhouse. Many waffles have been had at that sugarhouse ;)

@@BissellMapleFarm when she is disconnecting the hoses picking up sap talking about tapping buckets - that is us :) We tapped at their home in Fairfax this year also to add some taps to our very small little production. But our youngest just loves getting to be at the sugarhouse.

You know, my grandfather had all of us grandkids playing music. He loved to play the fiddle, banjo, guitar - John Fisher was something. He used to record everything with the VHS camcorder and make movies. Try watching a VHS today. All of those memories are trapped on tape.
One of the beautiful things about UA-cam is that these families get to see it and share it and keep this forever. And it is available to share with people. Forever. It is evergreen content. And there will be cinematography and music on this channel!
I make these intros and musical montages for the families that allow me to tell their stories. That is what my grandpa would have done. And I think people can tell that the farmers are having fun! They are enjoying the opportunity to tell their story.
I didn't make this video for the casual viewers and haters. I made it for the farmers who share their time with us. You are all just lucky they let us share their stories with you. Haha!
