  • In this video I will be hammering the transmission tunnel to make more room for the CD009. I will also remove the flex plate from my LS engine. I will also be attempting to pull the pilot bearing. I will also grind some metal off the transmission so it can be pulled while leaving the bell hosing attached to the engine.

    Just keep pounding the bread into it, worked for me. When jegs sold me the wrong pilot bearing... 😑

      I've seen it work for other people too. I just hate pounding on the crank. Thanks for chiming in I may go back to the bread.

    Step away from that pilot bearing for a bit is the best advice I can offer....it WILL come out. Hit it hard later when you're mind is refreshed, ALWAYS works! The process is a real struggle sometimes....Most certainly though "you" and many others including myself will certainly cross that finish line once the victory has been earned.....and it'll be worth every damn cuss and dollar spent! Thanks for sharing your journey, it's your story and this chapter is going to end in some badd assery.

    So I’m a Nissan guy. But I have a iroc cause I grew up in Camaros. I have a cd009 laying around. And a 5.3L. So I decided I’m gonna try and cd009 LS swap the camaro. Figured nobody had done this yet. Maybe I was wrong

      Well I wasn't the first to try. However I think I'm the only one that finished the swap. I have a ton of information about what I did. However if you have any questions feel free to ask. Thanks for watching and good luck with your project.

      @@ForsakenSteel I found the top mount shifter, I’m wandering where you got the trans mount that holds the torque arm. I’m gonna do a tubular k member for the LS so I may be able to move the trans forward or backwards for better shifter location.

    • @ForsakenSteel
      @ForsakenSteel  11 місяців тому

      I'm using the Hooker Blackheart transmission cross member. I've got the engine as far back as it will go and still had to make a shifter offset bracket to move it farther back

    Sorry to hear the extra problems, but that is why it's called customising, I had similar problems when I changed the clutch in my 253 Aust small V8 with a Toyota Hilux 5 speed, runs Ford clutch plate with Toyota splin onto the V8 flywheel, all the best to you and your loved ones

    Drill the pilot bearing in three different positions but be very careful. it will weaken the bearing after you drill and you'll be able to full it out with your tool. Good luck.
