My question is about the left/right alignment of the bottom blade. The top blade moves left and right, and each time you switch on the clippers then switch it off, the top blade doesn't stop in the same position every time. So when aligning the bottom blade, how do you account for this? What position of the top blade do you go off to set the bottom blade? Thanks
That was the best and quickest instructional video with detailed drawings showing proper alignment. I wish everyone else would just take there video off UA-cam Because this is the only one we need thank you
I agree with this statement. I watched so many videos with no luck until I came across this video and less than one minute into the video boom my problem solved.
Top tip this video doesnt mention. If you've removed the blade completely & it no longer cuts, you've put it in backwards. Both sets of teeth should face each other to ensure a good cut.
If this was reddit, I'd give you gold. Been fiddling around for hours with my new babyliss trying to figure out why the hell it won't cut my hair. I had the bottom blade on backwards. I'm a damn idiot!
gibbonduder182 OMG THIS I WAS ABOUT TO THROW THESE THROUGH THE WINDOW. Probably common sense to most but I was so focused on the vertical/horizontal alignment I never thought to go back and flip the moving blade around...would’ve saved me like 2 hours of total time and overwhelming stress. Wahl please add like a text bubble at that part of the video or pin this guy’s comment because there is NO other tip for this ANYWHERE!!
I have 2 questions. One is whether this alignment is same as for wahl clipper 9243-4724 and other is what is meaning of 1/32 to 1/16? I will appreciate any help..
In fact, if you set the two blades to be completely parallel, when you turn on the clipper, you will see that the right corner of the upper blade rises, the left falls down. That is, when the machine is in operation, the blades will not be aligned. To avoid this effect, the right corner of the upper blade should be slightly lower than the left. So, when you turn on your clipper, the two knives will be perfectly parallel. In this video, it is explained in detail how to make this setting. ua-cam.com/video/iG4EVJrgrJQ/v-deo.html&index
I seem to notice that Wahl is pretty inconsistent. Many times the blade is way too low & doesn't take enough off when you shave with no guard. It's kind of annoying.
And don't forget to add a few drops of that kick ass red Mystery Oil that also comes in a little bottle on your blades before and after each use and your Clippers will last you more than 17yrs as they did to me just before they suddenly slipped from my hand and landed on the corner of the small movable blade breaking it... Well that became my go excuse to buy my new Legends combo 8180 that come with Wahl Hero trimmer and 5 Star Legend w/V9000 motor and all size clips and its own perfect carrying storage bag ($20 value) all for $70!
Man I'm just looking for info from someone more knowledgeable than me with clippers. You might think it's a dumb question but are wahl clipper blades interchangeable? I've got a chrome pro, I've had for at least 3 years. A wahl clip and trim, and a wahl color pro.. I just learned how to sharpen the blades and I want to put the sharpest blades with my newest clippers. It seems like it would work fine, but cutting my hair by myself, I want to be 100% I'm not going to fuck my shit up lol
Mine are over 20yrs old and I only sharpened the blades last year for the first time. I use Singer sewing machine oil, easier to find and cheap as chips.
this only video that mentions the far leff tooth alignment..good stuff
@ 0:44 Excellent content. Every "internet barber" goes on and on about how they "zero gap". But not one knows how to align the blades.

an off topic question, if u run out of oil and you got no way to get special wahl oil, can u use any other kind of oil on the blades?
I use Singer sewing machine oil.
For an alternative, use baby oil. It's basically mineral oil and far cheaper.
Major issue that this doesn't address is that when you tighten the screws, the blade moves, which obviously throws it out of alignment.
I have exactly the same problem, no matter how much I tighten the screws.
Is the position on the right in the picture lower than the left?

You have saved the day. No other video or page mentions that the blades of teeth have to face each other!
@@gilpinsteven Happy to have helped. It took me about 5 mins to suss why mine wasn't cutting when I reassembled it, but now I know, I always know.

I have the newer Wahl balding clipper with the adjustable part. I tried to follow this and it's not working

Can I use a 3 hole blade on a 2 hole clippers? Someone at the store sold me the wrong one.
Yes on the majority of our tools you can use a 3 hole blade on a 2 hole clipper.
Thanks!
I did not know.
It’s normal that the bottom blade is to the left side inclined?
Hi this is happening on my Babyliss clippers too! Uneven so seems bent when compared across the top blade? Did you find out if this was correct?
Sir, Did you find any solution with this one??
@@thodorispapageorgiou9977 bruv tell you you found the solution

So when you tighten the screws u dnt put them so tight
leave em loose when adjusting but tighten them tight after you get it straight.
