Fucking hell you're an annoying fuck
@@silverchair5169 ...then why are you here?
Hi
I used the link to install Raid for the first time, didnt get any of the special bonus stuff you mentioned :(
this was incredibly easy to digest. so much insight, super helpful even for a beginner drummer. absolutely would love more vids breaking shit down and making it easier to understand.
Want even more digestion? The crazy fill Mario does is just a bunch of rudiments!
How?
Well.. See for yourself:
K= Kick drum/Ride
S= Accented snare
s= Ghost snare
KssK KssK Skss KsKs sKss KssK Skss KKss
Double strokes, single strokes and paradiddles!
That was a Linus Tech Tips level Segué.
Thanks jesus for this🙌
Lol yes
Our Canadian blood communicates through 56k wifi!!
I don’t even play drums and I’d still watch drum lessons 🙃
Y 😂
play guitar, just watch so I can get tips for the times I get to drum, which is never
Me too dude 🔥
@@jessiehoward158 same😂
Once a week after school, we had a drum club, that no one else except me rarely attended. So most of the time, I was lucky to have free "private" drum lessons with the drummer that was exclusively coming to our school for this drum club xD. It lasted for more than half a year, before the Pandemic started and we had our first Lockdown ._. Now, at the end of last year, I bought my first E-Drum Kit, so now I can play at home :)
No one:
Samus: Complex and thorough explanations on how to play the song
Me with my realfeel practice pad: THRASH BEATS
Same🤣
Give us a cover. Watching the whole thing uninterrupted is different, and better, than watching it chopped up, even if its the same thing
69th like
Now you aren’t wrong, but that’s just not the point of the video (I know, no shit Sherlock lmao)
Hopefully we get a cover, but at the same time, he covered (as in he addressed it, not a drum cover) the song, so he might just be crossing it off the list, and I don’t blame him.
Nor should you.
it's not "better". a cover is great sure and I want one, but if you want to learn it it's easier for me at least watching it chopped up and analyzed.
Thamuth, thith ithn't enough. We need the full cover too
11:17 I love that the ride is playing the beat from the outro breakdown. You don't notice it at full speed but It ties the two sections together. LOVE IT!
Thamus, thith ithn't enouth, we need the full drum cover thoo
Samus seeks 5 clones of himself
Also samus finds 5 clones at a cannibal corpse concert
I honestly like your ads. You're the first i believe is fully behind the products
Hi Samus, I've been drumming for a lot of years and I have to say that this is an example of exactly how to do a song cover lesson correctly. It is sooo nice to see actual music script used along with explanations. You are obviously very good and it shows in your playing and knowledge of music. If I ever had to cover this song, I would use this video to learn it. Keep on making the great content. More like this....
Thank you Samus I've been trying to learn alot of different gojira songs but they're kinda hard and this made things alot easier explained than just playing by how I hear it
As always, amazing content, really nicely explained and easily understood. Thank you Sam! Love your work!
OOOOHHHHH YURRRRR! Drum lessons from our boy Samus, hell yea! These would be a cool addition to the channel in future!
Thank you for creating this in-depth analysis! Really intuitive to follow even though I just recently started playing drums!
I know how to read sheet music. Never knew how to read percussion music (symphony instrument taught).
The way you taught this lesson and broke it down, I was easily able follow along!
Great job of teaching here! This is amazing work! thank you!
I loved seeing breakdowns like this! Great job!
I don't even play drums. But this was by far the most informational, funny, incredibly fast, yet easy to follow break down of any song I have ever watched on UA-cam. Timeline stamps (or chapters I think youtube calls it) would make it easier for your followers to come back to this video and find exactly where they left off.
Heh. Breakdown.
Great lesson! It made me think of Angra’s Silence & Distance at 1:29 in. 3 bars of 4 and a bar of 3 but Ride Cymbal accents all over the place to mess with your inner placement of where 1 is.
This was great. I never learned how to read drum sheet music (I played the trombone in another life and could read the bass clef), but you made the whole drum part very accessible.
I loved it !!! Thanks man!!! Love your show buddy!
Incredibly helpful! I find it difficult to learn a song just by listening to it, but getting the song explained and seeing the score is great. Thx!
Great lesson! Definitely gotta work on my ghost notes to play that.
I'd gladly have more of these on the channel.
Fantastic lesson bro!!!! You explained every pattern of the song. F***cking awesome 😎 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thanks for taking the time to share this with us
This is awesome. Helped a ton. Laughed a lot too. Thanks my man!!
Best tutorial ever man, thanks so much I manage to get all the little things I missed by ear watching this wooop!
Great job pointing out the unique kick in the first "chode riff". Those kinds of unique hits are often crucial to the feel of songs and too often overlooked.
Super well constructed lesson!
Mario is nuts, great breakdown on that opening groove!! ❤🤘
EDIT: the ride and snare groove is a real good breakdown!! Very well explained!
I love this! Much better than usual drum lessons are!
I appreciate your work Samus. It is reaally good to understand this complicated stuff. It helps us drummers
This lesson was great, you did a really good job analyzing and deconstructing the song
Really cool Samus!! Keep doing this kind of lessons! Thank you
I have messed around on drums but never played more than 10 minutes and a handful of times. You went so in depth I feel if I sat down I could actually learn this song. Great teacher and very insightful video - sex. Love to see a full playthrough too. Keep up the videos, yer?
i dont even play drums, yet here i am watching this, i wanna start playing so badly
Key word is basic math. Like he said, if you can count to 16 (rhythmacially), it becomes easy to digest and learn the patterns.
Self-taught beginner-beginner level here. The way he broke the patterns down it became super easy to follow along with his explanations!
I don't play drums, but bass, and I loved this. Made me really appreciate the complexity of the piece. Thanks
Thank you, awesome lesson! Izi 👍🏻
I dont even play drums, but thamuth, we need bofth, milketh away
Excellent content! The transcription is super helpful!
Great delivery!
ORGASMATRON! Lookimg förward to the one hour version breakdown of your "The insight and the catharsis".. Love this more than anything, so much more respect.to drummers and they already get 90% of my metal cudos 😁😁
Great lesson! I might actually be able to follow this and play the song. Thank you!
Great video dude. I'm a guitarist and inspiring drummer, total amateur but trying. Totally enjoyed this. Wish I could play like that but in time maybe. Would love to see more lesson videos as well as full covers. Great content, well done dude. All the best for the future.
It's the best idea please continue !
I like this kind of drum lesson formula, it works well and it's definitely something you should consider doing more of in the future.
If you dial down the speed to half speed playback on the original it really sounds like a six stroke roll with a heavy accent on the sixth sixteenth triplet.
And also the second time this comes up (3:49 in original video), you can actually see that he starts the single stroke roll on the right and finishes on the left, so it's a six stroke roll (at least its looking like so :) )
Nice lesson and breakdown by the way :) also for me as a no more drummer ;)
Awesome dude! This really helped me out with some of those patterns!
I really loved it!! More lesson videos OH YURR
Thanks for making this and well done, Gojira is one of my favourite bands. Now I'm more certain on how to play it. If you'll make more drum lesson video's, I'll definitely check 'em out.
Loved it!
I love how you quit your job to do this full time, and then went ahead and fucking nailed it. Keep up the good work dude - wishing you good things
Exceptionally done...and Subscribed! VERY detailed, < 20 minutes and a Patreon "Gimme" for only one Buckaroo! NICE!!
This was probably the best drum tutorial I've ever seen. Hell yeah, thanks dude
Greate lesson. Thank you so much! 🤘🏽🤘🏽
Bro your kit sounds incredible
This was a great breakdown Samus! I would LOVE to get a video of Liquid Fire by Gojira. The verse riff paradiddle on the hands with the crazy bass drum pattern continues to haunt my dreams
Really helpfull and your good humour is great, thank you
Awesome lesson, many thanks!
Excellent lesson vid samus, definitely do more of these! /m/
It was a good lesson thank you for this.
I really enjoyed this and would like to see more videos like this. I just packed my kit and will not be able to set it back up for almost a month so i got to use the ppad.
This video is awesome, we want this kind of content more!! 🤘🏻
Around 2011, my drummer friend was hating on my musical tastes as usual, he went on UA-cam and showed me your channel. It was his response to me liking the drummer of Children of Bodom.
I think it is great that you like them so much.
MOOOORE DRUM LESSONSSS!!!!!
Just found this channel, immediately subscribed for the sense of humor, and also the great drumming, but mostly the jokes xD
66 hours! That's insane! Awesome work!
Awesome drum content!
Great lesson.
Omg I need more lessons from you master
Really really cool lesson!
Sick drum lesson! A play through would still be awesome
it was insane
the amount of things that mario does in this song
Sam thank you so much dude 🤘🏽
Great lesson! Ohh yurrrrr 🤘🏼
Full cover!
Really sick you transcribed the whole thing with an explanation for each part ❤️
very nice lesson!
Good stuff my dude! Imma definitely gonna use this as reference
This is really good. I can't drum. Was told to play with knives instead of sticks! 😁 Still love watching drum videos, playthroughs, covers etc. But this is so clear to follow. Being able to explain things in plain english is a gift. Fair play to you for putting this up. Anybody who drums or enjoys drumming should be subbing your channel. Love your drumming on Dev's stuff in particular, as well as Andy Gillion's.
Yeasss! Dude, thank you so much for doing this. It's literally going to take me a month per part to learn....oh well...worth it.
This was the first song I learned on drums. Thanks Samus!
Thank you SO MUCH for this lesson! The hardest time for me is to hear what is actually played, learning this kind of song by notes makes it much easier
Remember, your cav will be pleased when you play Raid: Shadow Bahee
Watched this video a dozen times. Currently learning it for my garage shit band. Fantastic video
Bravo 👏👍
Thanks 🔥
This is the best drum lesson of my life.
The song sounds like Pantera: Good Friends and bottle of Pills in the beginning.. awesome breakdown of this riff. Much appreciated brotha! 🤣🤘😁
Excellent job man! I'm a guitarist who always wanted to play drums and I understand both music theory and math so I definitely appreciated the break down. Though the explanation of the "sex" part twisted my mind in knots lol... much easier to just kinda "get the feel" than to try and count it out
Wow! Good job. I liked how you broke it down. I'm a trumpet player, but watching you makes me think I could sit down and play this.
* BTW: I would LOVE, LOVE to see you and Tommy Lee killing it on the drums.* Hint, Hint.
Great explanation Samus! Really helped alot also to learn parts in general, you gave some structure that can be used in other songs aswell! ^^ Still would be nice to see a cover to put all the pieces together and make it flow Ohh Yurrr! \m/
This is a great video, thanks !
I really think that he's playing quintuplets, you can hear it when you go half speed on youtube, all the notes are equals and if you count well you can hear 1 2 3 4 5 1
Awesome, please do the full playthrough to see it all put together
As you said as the start of the video
"Samus it isn't enough content , we need a full cover"
Best intro ever
Do you realize how good you are Samus? You literally cover all the greats. I want to challenge you. Can you do a Chris Turner cover from Oceans Ate Alaska? No one covers that guy. If you can do it (I have faith) it would be incredible.
this 100%
How does one even count an oceans ate Alaska song? Haha
@@ttsfa1 dont ask me brah... 4/4 all day
Thanks for the video pls more drum lessons
great work on a great song indead
Thank you!
