  • We just returned from the launch of Ducati’s all-new Panigale V4, and it’s no exaggeration to describe it as one of the best sportbikes ever made, perhaps even the best. Its new four-cylinder engine is melodious and powerful, it handles with agility akin to a much smaller bike, its electronics are leading-edge and fully customizable, and it looks sensational in person.

    After 1,000,000 hours of development, how come every V-4 , including the bike i test rode here in Miami, the 2- fluid resivors are rubbing on the windscreen when you turn the front end! My tester already had wear marks. it only had 34 miles on it

    Ducati sure know how to make a fast great looking bike. I've owned a Ducati with electronic suspension and now would not own one out of warranty (had loads of issues) Personally hoped it would sound more like the Aprilia V4 but guess they wanted to please the V twin traditionalists by making it sound like one.
    Like the Bell Isle of Man helmet of the test rider.

    V4 is the best engine configuration, Vs make a lot of torque especially in the low and mid range which is not there in the inlines, plus multiple valved engine are high reving also which make a lot of hp. So the nitty gritty is that v4 configuration is the best!!.

    • @thedakon
      @thedakon 6 років тому +1

      Gerhard Symons It's not a good first bike, because it's too powerful, and power needs some experience and control. Start in the 500cc and less hp, you'll upgrade when you're ready.

    Warning! If you ride it you'll want it, I know I did. I bought the base model and overall I love it! Suspension isn't to bad but plan on changing it. Ok, the great points, the power of course it's smooth but watch it after 8k it's light speed. The handling....effortless! In the twisties you're a god. Dashboard is so simple to use and so visible! Riding position is actually comfortable and even has sticky seat for the hang offs. Tires, so damn sticky. Quick shifter auto blip so much fun! The not so good. The range, at 90 miles the fuel light comes on and thats highway use. In traffic its toasty there's no riding shorts on this bike, besides if you ride in shorts on any bike you're asking for trouble. The mirrors, hey it's a Ducati vibration and elbows. In the end if you're in this sport for the twisties and track days this is the weapon! If you want to commute it better be 15 miles or less or on a different bike. So far I've done just over 400 miles on it in the twisties and highway and it's the "weekend bike" and I don't mean taking it to Starbucks and chill'n I mean take it out and thrash it! You moderate riders might surprise yourself but be ready for warp speed when you twist that throttle open! Chow

    What's that he was saying about what is coming next year's contender being a 999cc?

    • @jessemartinez4601
      @jessemartinez4601 6 років тому +1

      dennis B they make a version for actual racing in wsbk and bsb and they sell a customer version the R version

    • @jaymoto9820
      @jaymoto9820 6 років тому +1

      Dennis B, this version in this video is 1100cc, so it's not legal for FIM SBK or AMA Superbike rules. They will release an R version here sometime that will be 999cc for homologation into those race series. Ducati wanted the street version to have a bit more torque so it would be easier to get along with in day to day street riding, so they increased the stroke just a bit, giving it that extra 99 or so cc.

    • @dennisb7317
      @dennisb7317 6 років тому

      Jay Moto did not know that

    • @jaymoto9820
      @jaymoto9820 6 років тому

      Yeah the R version should be an even closer relative to the real deal MotoGP engine. If I remember correctly, it is supposedly going to have the exact same bore/stroke measurements as the MotoGP version, and with fracture split Ti rods and all the other high end goodies! Sounds delicious hahahaha!

      Night Rider So that riders don't get ahead of themselves. Since abs and traction control has been added to bike the death toll has drop by 30% for bikers. Not only that people are starting to want to ride more and riders has increased alot since the 80s there arr now over 3000 female riders in the US that was unheard of in the 90s. Trust me man abs and traction control will save you in the worst situation. *cough* hidden road sand *cough*

      Riccardo Rizzo thank you. Dude can’t make a point or come to a conclusion on points pro or con. He says it handles “good” because of engine displacement of the v4....it weighs less than my 05 636... it’s a light weight super bike that specs alone should allow you a home run when it comes to journalism. Way to down sell a beast that runs right next to the H2 or pass it on some qualifications.

      Maybe, just maybe! It would be very interesting to see this v4 duc run side by side hot laps with the hp4, rsv4 and last but not least, a ktm superduke!!!

    There's one amazingly obvious thing wrong with it, you think that you're a lucky boy because you got to ride one for 10 laps around a track, all expenses paid. Has it not penetrated your stone head that these things are designed to be sold and bought and taken home and stored in garages and occasionally ridden?
    You can't rent one, you can't park it out on the street unless you want 50 assholes to come over and fuck with it and fight over who gets to steal it, and it won't run for more than 100 miles on a tank of gas. And while they have 215hp they don't come with a "get out of jail free" card. Oh yeah and they're $30k. There is a certain point at which it really doesn't matter how good this bike is. It's not just a bike it's also a great payday for a bike-thief.
