Thank so much for you video. I have a 1978 VW 1.6 cc. Rabbit diesel. I did exactly what you did the engine is working now, but the RPM are to high and making a lot smog. I want to ask you if the pump need to adjust. I really appreciated if you can help me in this matter.
Good day..interesting videos you make. I have been following some on non turbo injection pumps..I think you call them lDl. Mine is a seat 1.9sdi 1997 1Y engine. What l am concerned about is the dial distance are they all the same...yours shows 33...thou's..l use mm's. Mine has the adjustments on the pulley and not on the pump. Hopefully you can help Or do require me to send an email....advise address 👍👍👍👍
Usually turbo diesels and Non-turbo diesels are a different setting. Check your shop manual as there are no Seat cars here, but on the Vw's that are sold non-turbo (or for best mileage) .86mm (0.033in) or 1.00mm (0.039in) for A/C cars and Turbo cars.
Well l have reached the point of fitting and timing it.. I have looked all over the web for settings and they range from 87mm ,88, 95, upto 1.mm BTDC..but as said before my pump is fixed so l have to set it and lock it before..then fit and double check..that all is ok.. Just put me out of my misery and confirm it is BTDC...on the pump...😆 Thanks

@@simonbertioli4696 .86 mm or 1mm as I said above. Car will run on either setting.
