  • This is a quick walk around and explanation of the cockpit on this B model Cat. I am ferrying it from Sacremento, Ca to Arkansas and at the time of this video I was down due to a failed igniter box.

Amazing! You really do a nice job narrating, whether on the ground or in the air...you must have incredible spacial awareness. I just found your channel and really enjoyed watching an afternoon's worth of flying "crop dusting" Gig'em :)

My Daddy was a Crop Duster and had his business down in Belize from 1969 to 1981. 1976, I recall him selling his three Piper Pawnees for one Grumman Ag-Cat. She was quite a huge Bi-plane. I do recall the Hopper held 500 gallons. The Belizean 1977 telephone book's cover page at a photo of my Daddy pulling up after he duster the a line of rice field. I often wonder if those two flagmen got cancer years later.

How much of a visibility problem do you have with a bi-plane? Say those old Ag-Cats have been rode hard and put up wet? The very first ag plane I ever saw in my life was the old R-985 powered Ag-Cat with the traditional gray and yellow paint scheme. Only parts that were yellow were the N-struts, the wing tips, ailerons, canopy and tail section. The rest was flat gray. Loved watching that bird go through the paces. Safe flying, Patrick! Hope the upcoming 2024 season will be productive, profitable, safe, and, above all else, loads of fun. Thank you for not destroying your videos with music overdubs. The sound of the engine is part of the experience. I love the old, obnoxiously loud buzzing ag-birds.

Thanks! I am looking forward to a good, productive 2024. The cats do have a small visibility problem and it is really a non issue unless there are other planes flying above you and they will disappear behind the top wing.

@@pcohen85 I have something neat I’d like to share with you! It’s regarding this Ag Cat and flight simulators. Not sure how you’d like to talk though since you’re rarely on either
