Nice! I had the pleasure of flying a 600 Thrush close to 200p hrs back in the 1980s. Loved it. Excellent aircraft.
Thanks Mike. We appreciate the feedback.
been years sinc ei have flown a duster, i miss it, i like it because it is real flying. get low and go ,i did a lot of flying in the central valley in calif.loved it.after the owner died i bought the company we used all ag cats back in the 80.s too old now but it is still fun.
@@pirateatfourty it is definitely a fun job. I can see why you miss it!!! Thanks for watching.
That is an awesome paint job! Let team Thrush know if you need any spares or anything, we're happy to help if we can. Fly safe out there sir!
Thanks John. I love my Thrush aircraft. Had a pair of S2R’s with geared 1340’s back when I first started the business. Glad to be back in a Thrush!
Thank you sir for your commentary for us the information is very good to us and the new for turbo thrush, best regards, see you soon

@@IowaFlyingFarmer I HAD TO REPLY VERY NICE. I am a retired A@P IA and macc
Nice-looking airplane nice-looking hanger nice-looking flags and have a good year
Thanks John.
Looks great. Love Thrush
Thanks James.
Alot of HP for that tiny hopper. You forgot to mention that you have to fly with the flaps allot. One reason the plain takes of easier than an Ag Cat. The Ag Cat does not have flaps and is far more maneuverable than the Thrush or Air Tractor.
Actually 850 HP is not a lot of HP for a 525 gallon hopper. A -34 which is on most 500 gallon machines is way under powered.
@@IowaFlyingFarmer That's why you have flaps. Just one more thing to remember in the cockpit. The A-34 in a Ag Cat C or D model will out fly the Thrush or Air Tractor any day.
@@johnschohr6104 😀
@@johnschohr6104 Ag Cat will turn tighter but is SLOWER.
A 525 Gallon Hopper is not "tiny". Try a 150 gallon hopper for size on a PIPER PA25. That hopper is even too big for the IO540 Lycoming on a Hot Humid day.
Nice setup 👍🏻
Thank You.
7:45 love the flags my man👍🏻
Thanks.
neat video! does the auger and it's equipment stay in place for liquid product, or does it have to be removed?
You can do either, but I will leave it in place during liquid work.
Very nice
Thank you!
not bad for 50 years old
My dad loved flying Thrush.
It is a great flying aircraft for sure!
Would you recomend this career to a young guy? I don't have any flying time but have been spraying with small ground rigs for a couple years. I'm trying to get my glider licence soon and hopefully powered after that.
I do recommend this career but people need to know that this is not a 9-5 job. It is seasonal, but when the season hits, you may be at the airport from 0500 to 2200. It is a lot of hard work and you have to be on top of your game all day long. Thanks for the question.
@@IowaFlyingFarmer 👍
Why’d you have to blur the beautiful flags in the hangar?
LOL. Fragile people out there.
was that just detailed by Aviana?
Yes it was. He does a great job!
Will you ever get a Airtractor?
I will never say never, but for right now, I really like the Thrush aircraft. I know that the Air Tractor is a bit faster than the Thrush, but so far I am satisfied with this aircraft.
Is that a Goering conversion? It looks like one of his hoppers could be wrong lol
Nope. It,s a Pratt. I think the Goering uses Garret if I’m not mistaken. Cascade conversion on the firewall forward.
@@IowaFlyingFarmer Lol! Idk how I missed that. Usually watch UA-cam half asleep. I run a Ag-Cat that I do love, but my dad is now on his 3rd Thrush over the last 10 yrs. The Thrush really makes the day go buy a lot shorter. Especially if you gotta long ferry. Like 150 vs 90 At least for him I guess. While the ag-cat is more like driving Bumper-cars. They just beat the living shit outta! lol
Sharp plane 👍
Thank you!
nice plane
Thank You!
I flew piston Ag-Cats and Piston Thrushes. The Cats were more fun to fly, but the Thrush will make you more money. I'll take the Cat if you fly small fields or work out of farm fields and rough strips though.
I would agree that the cat is superior in smaller fields.
