I am a pilot and an owner of a small airplane. I have the same comment as many others. I wish that my wife had the same attitude and perspective as Brenda. Instead of seeing it as the potential for adventures, she just sees it as an expensive hobby that I selfishly indulge in.
I’m sending this video to my wife lol.. great job guys, I love how you worked on this together.. beautiful plane. I’m looking at pulling the trigger on the Tsi for all the reasons you have mentioned.
Beautiful airplane, and we like those Sunvisors, though we may be a little biased. 😁 Thanks for letting us use your airplane as our prototype v2 guinea pig!
This is a beautiful airplane! I am so sorry for the loss of your son, may God make it easy for you. The tail number is a wonderful way to honor his memory. Fly safe and enjoy your airplane to it's fullest! God bless you.
What a beautiful plane & paint job. Why is the shipping plastic still on both Garmin displays @2:03? That is only intended to remain on during shipping to protect the screen.
@@bocamax There is a special moment just before first flight where the pilot is getting themself ready for that instant they break loose from the bonds of the Earth, and in preparation for that leap into sky, they perform the symbolic “breaking the seal” of the airplane. Removing the screen cover, and the plastic on the Go Around button, represents the beginning of a life of adventure. At that part of the video, they hadn’t had the first flight yet.

@@EdwardHefter I didn't realize the video was taken before the first flight. I guess that makes sense. I fly a 182RG I love the feeling of leaving my problems on the ground. Very nice airplane.
Not a pilot but (rc pilot) all those electronic avionic nannies seem to be the wrong way to learn to be a pilot. Even in rc you always have to fly the plane in every circumstance.
Wondering if you feel the same way about learning to drive a car with automatic transmission rather than the stick shift I learned on? Or using GPS rather than a map? Or TPMS warnings in the car rather than checking the air pressure once a month? Technology moves on. The two of them are still flying the plane, AND they know how to use the newer technology to make it safer and more enjoyable.
OMG, that’s so funny, because you thought he was actually going to fly with it that way rather than just protecting the screen during all of the final preparations for first flight!
And it runs mogas instead of avgas which is both healthier and half the cost. So 3-4x cheaper than a Cirrus, both in fuel and service. But Sling, you really have to transition to factory built certified and single piece composite has to be the way. There is just no growth potential in a 300k$ plane that you have to build yourself with kit build affecting resale value as well. Cirrus had 13 kit planes completed and killed 10 people. Now they totally dominate as certified despite being absurdly overpriced. Great place to start could be a Risen copy. Very simple construction and blows everything away. Certified with a parachute, it could really make a dent in aviation. And no 300k nonsense or worse. Think 100k, Rotax greed aside.
I would love to have an airplane equipped as well as this one for $100k, but since the avionics is more than half of that, the engine is more than half of that, and the paint is not free, Sling would need to write checks while giving away the plane. Don't expect a $100k TSi anytime in the near future. As far as certified, that probably won't happen soon, either. But, ready built airplanes without requiring a build? Mosaic will certainly help with that!
@@EdwardHefter Well Carbon Design Vampire 2 is composite and fully assembled for 83700€ including a 912. A G3x for LSAs costs around 3k$ and even overpriced certified is 10k. And I said Rotax greed aside.

Well spoken ma’am and sir, good on you for honouring your son’s memory. Congratulations on your new aircraft!
If there was a sales video for the sling This is it! Loved the story from beginning to end. Thanks for sharing

We have nearly 100 hours on the hobbs now, and every time we fly we remark about how pleased we are with the visors. Very effective, nice quality.
Congratulations, that’s a beautiful bird you got there!

Brenda can you talk to my wife? 😂 Rich you’re a lucky man. Beautiful plane btw!
Indeed I am a very lucky man!
Great video! Watching from Zimbabwe... Our story is similar! Come to Zimbabwe ... It's beautiful flying here...
Bravo.perfect. go ahead
How long did the build take them and what was their all in price with the build assist program?
❤
How long did it take you to build from first rivet to having an aircraft ready to test flight?
About 10 months.
What kind of insurance were you able to get with the Sling as new and older pilots?
We had a great experience with Denise Porter at Aviation West Insurance Brokers.
I loved their story, but the video seemed to cut off Rich's sentence. I want to hear more.
You're both err..... not getting any younger. Did you consider the high wing version for ease of entry & exit?
check your flight ias against the poh please
Yes, we're seeing actual doesn't match what is published. Still assessing that.
Why do you still have the plastic on the displays ? 😂

@@EdwardHefter why talk about how great your new airplane is when it hasn't even left the ground yet???
Hey - do you normally have your head up your butt or were you just having a bad day? Don't be mean.
We typically take some time to edit our videos. By the time this went live, that plane was already done with Phase 1 flying. We know the planes work.
