Me too, can someone share why it was important to Luo Ji
Me too. I wasn't expecting a Russian song though.
I thought it was just because his general demeanor throughout the story was dreamy, melancholy and romantic.
It feels so amazing to know that most people came here from The Dark Forest just like me but everyone in different time spans.

Then I furiously sought out the song that Luo Ji was listening to in the car. Excellent, excellent novel and this rendition of that folk song highly enhances the atmosphere of this part of the story. :-)

The original Chinese version and the entire story and characters were envisioned by Cixin Liu, who did not choose that song. What you read was an inherently altered version. So no. Translator made a mistake here. The song was supposed to be Ural Rowan Tree as it was in the original text. Would you trust the original author or the translator?
Came here to listen for setting the mood after Luo Ji mentioned the song. Perfectly fits the scene, and it feels so good to see so many others here who came for the same thing.

as an avid TBP fan it is difficult to listen to this without the mental image of a drunken man walking along a highway on a foggy evening carrying a shovel... with seemingly immense electromagnetic wave background noise in the air
