    I must have watched 15 various reviews of canning procedures for beer but this one was awesome for telling me what things to watch out for and how to improve results whenever I decide to go that route. For now I'm just kegging and sharing growlers with family and friends (for free, so I don't get mauled by the ATF) but I'd eventually like to can my beer just to make sharing easier or eventually sell it when I feel like putting up with all of the licensing fees/forms/etc. (IL/US)
    Excited of you, this is a big first small step :D Thank you again for your decision to be transparent about all of this, learning so much and laughing along the way.

      Glad you enjoyed! I didn't go into so much detail on the exact canning procedures but certainly can if people are interested :) Let me know if you have any questions along the way and that would be super cool if you start selling some beer!

    Jumped on my motorcycle once I heard you were in stock at aker brygge! Walked around the vinmonopol for a few minutes looking for your brew before I asked one of the guys working there. Showed him the picture and said I was looking for this beer, to which his response was : "me too!" They eventually brought it in from the back room - that's what I call fresh:)
    Happy to report that I am now enjoying it at home, and it sure is juicy!! The citra and mosaic combo is an absolute killer!
    Great brew!!🤌🤌

    Hello Bent Gate!
    We’re a tiny brewery in Greece, and I’ve been watching along with your adventure on UA-cam (great videos!) I wonder if you wouldn’t mind me asking about your canning… I’ve been very seriously considering the Duofiller, but I’ve been a bit torn between that and the counter pressure system from Tapcooler. Did you by chance also come across the Tapcooler before deciding to go with the Duofiller? There are certainly some advantages to counter pressure filling, but you guys make the Duofiller look like a great fit.
    Keep up the great work, looking forward to your progress this year 👍

    A few inputs.
    - Cap on foam. In the intro video the can was capped on liquid, which can more often allow some air to remain in the can to cause oxidation issues. I often need to raise the liquid spear of the Duofiller up quite a bit to cause enough Co2 to protect from foam.
    - Those small Kegland inline regulators are great for lowering pressure. A T-piece and two regulators, and you have a canning station where you can just connect the Co2, and the Duofiller pressure (which is a bit fiddly, since it's so low), can just be permanently set.
    - More info on labeling would be nice, as I'm looking into this as well

    • @BentGateBrewing
      @BentGateBrewing  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for the input! We actually do cap on foam but we over filled that can for the shot 😉 Great idea on the inline regulator for the CO2 line. It certainly is a bit of a pain to adjust it straight from the bottle regulator!
      I can make a separate video on the labelling, but it's an Epson CW-C4000. The labelling machine is a Label Slayer 440 mL 😀

      @@BentGateBrewing Ref #2 the way I did it was one of those bottle-cap compatible ball-lock to duotight adapters attached somewhere, to a duotight T, with a mini regulator attached to either side. The first one going to the Duofiller, and the second one going to the keg / tank being filled from, with a long hose to reach tank far away.
      The Duofiller seems to leak a tiny amount of pressure - nothing that matters when it's in use, but I wouldn't leave the Co2 permanently connected to it, as it would continue to drain Co2 very slowly.

    Wait in Norway you don't need a license to brew beer if it's under the 4.3abv you can just sell it to a distributor?

    • @BentGateBrewing
      @BentGateBrewing  9 місяців тому +1

      You do have to have a license to produce above 0.5% ABV. When it comes to cans/bottles, alcohol between 0.5-4.7% ABV can be sold by the brewery or to distributors/stores. Anything above 4.7% has to be sold by the government alcohol store (called Vinmonopolet). For kegs however, we can sell those at any alcohol content below 22% to bars and they can serve them. Does this help answer the question? Sorry if we were unclear in the video :)

    • @BentGateBrewing

      We soak the cans in a bucket of StarSan then let them drain upside down for a few minutes on a sanitized surface. You can see this in the video where I am pulling cans out of the sink (where the bucket is). Sorry we didn't go over this detail well enough. Hope this helps. We also keep the Stars decently cold so that way the cans aren't warm when filling them.

    • @BentGateBrewing
      @BentGateBrewing  9 місяців тому

      I think you could do 50-100 cans/hour with a single person. Depends a bit on how fast you are filling with the duofiller. The duofiller is usually the limiting factor.
