"At the end of the day all you accomplish is meaningless if everyone you love is gone/not there to live your dream with you", it really hit me hard because I can see that in Lucy she managed to get to the moon but she lost everything in the process. That idea just makes this scene 10x more depressing then it is, overall this show made it to my top 2! CDPR/Studio Trigger exquisite work, well done you made a masterpiece!!!😭😭

It definitely creates a different mood while watching kingdom compared to other animes even edgerunners I felt how my blood was boiling with anticipation while waiting for the next episode. Just by watching in many ways it changed my way of thinking and my life as a whole you could say it made me who I m.
Night City remembers people for how they died and not what they did before that. It's safe to say David easily goes down as one of the most legendary cyberpunks in Night City. He battled MilTech, Arasaka, and it took Adam Smasher to finally put him down. The best part? David died human.
I got the game after watching the anime because this made me hella attached to the cyberpunk universe and not to mention accidentally coming across the Over the Edge side quest, which i won't spoil since you should play the game for yourself now that it's actually a nice experience but David did became a legend and had one of the most popular crews in night city at one point.
Almost a year back while playing cyberpunk 2077, I heard this song for the first time ever while driving a car in game. And i had to add it to my spotify. It touched me. It felt completely different then any other song. It had a very nostalgic feel to it, while also feeling very distant like it didn't belong in the game. Now I know where it belongs. It belongs in this incredible anime. Thx for this gift. The song now has even more meaning to me...
i felt the same. back then whenever im roaming the city and this song plays, i always stop and listen to it until the end. it has almost an otherworldly vibe, and I too felt that it doesn't quite belong to cbp 2077. But with edgerunner, it's a perfect fit.
Holy crap! No wonder this song felt do familiar to me when I heard it while watching Edgerunners. I had heard it on the radio of the car while playing Cyberpunk 2077 over a year ago. I kind of want to get back on to the game soon.
Man, I don't care if you don't like animation; you need to watch this show. This song and the story: I feel it in my bones. I relate so hard. I think man is out here struggling doing what he gotta to survive. He then meets someone who just flips and changes his life completely. We all met someone like that, and that feeling is the real relatable ecstasy we crave
lol if someone doesn't like this type of animation they're clearly on something. Trigger is a pretty established studio that made Gurren Lagann, Darling in the Franxx, Kill la Kill, etc.
@@ArawnOfAnnwn ngl i kinda feel mid with this show the story was quite sad especially the ending part but for somewhat reason the whole story went too quick as if they're trying to dump in all lore into a person who never watch it confused a little...however gotta admit that this is the nicest coloring i've ever seen..it really does capture a specific vibes aesthetically
Cyberpunk edgerunners was amazing! Everytime I play the game now and this song comes on, I cry. That ending with Lucy alone on the moon without david is sad and emotional. I'm gonna beat cyberpunk 2077 wearing David's jacket and using Rebecca's gun. Rest in peace to David and his Crew
@Wings of warrior cats/ Overjoyed2awesome same here! I like cyberpunk 2077 but I wanted to take a break from the game but ever since I saw the anime I kept playing it
@Wings of warrior cats/ Overjoyed2awesome I know right!??!! I love that we can find places like Lucy's and Rebecca's apartment but sadly you can't enter them. But for Lucy, if you have the double jump thing from the ripperdoc then you can get on her roof and look at the city just like her and David did. But for Rebecca all I know is that for a gig you can go to her apartment for 1 mission but your doing the gig for someone who's moved into her apartment but he's blocking the door so you can only get through with modding. But playing the game feels different and empty after watching edgerunners. Especially after what happens to them all in the ending. Like if V was there. He would of saved all of them.
Really makes this series so much sweeter when you learn that she's a tragically abused netrunner and not the ultra dom girl she seems to be. It is really a tale of love between two innocents.
Two innocents? I get what you're saying, but do not forget the sheer liters of blood each of them had on their hands. They both went too far. Beyond what's human.
Cyberpunk Edgerunners got me into the Cyberpunk game and general story-- its amazing. I cannot begin to mention how hard I cried watching this show, experiencing the loss of many people in the game, and just the despair at a lack of happy endings in Night City. What a wonderful story and game.
Gods, the ending really hit hard in the feels. Not just seeingt Rebecca get shattered and left for dead, but watching David put in his all to save Lucy and go down like a champ. Telling Adam to F Off and being the eternal thorn in Adam and Arasaka's sides for all history. Really wanted to see Rebecca come out of it alive, she was my fav.
It was so tragic but special at the same time. Something about a sense of loss always seems to make a story better... prolly cuz we all experience it at one point or another!
Too bad they made Adam Smasher the boss of cyberpunk, it made him lose the aura of power he has. Adam is a fucking bipedal tank with a 90yo experienced killer in it, he has the best chrome one can get directly from the source, Arasaka. He should have been that unstopable force that runs after you like a Nemesis.
Don't cry Don't cry It's been a year since you saw the ending, you're a MAN you can listen to ONE SONG without CRYING! "I couldn't wait for you to come and clear the cupboards 🎶 " T~T
Pretty much me when i hear this song now god damn it lol. Got very invested into the characters especially david and lucy. So hearing this song is like getting a sucker punch to the stomach from adam smasher, just a flood of memories from when i binged this anime hooked like a junkie. They deserved so much better, and Rebecca too.
I watched this anime 2 day ago with a group of people who already watched it and they were waiting for my reactions, they did not expect me to cry like I did. The scene with Lucy seeing David in the moon was the thing that broke me down, even I was surprised when I felt the thick tears rolling down my cheeks but I couldn't stop crying. Even now it's making my eyes sting and water, I need to compose myself but this anime really hit me hard. They really made me want to play the game now.
The game is really worth it. The anime absolutely nailed the heart and soul of how Cyberpunk feels. One of the best games I’ve played in the last few years.
This song hits differently when you are going through tough times in your life. Brilliant composition. Cyberpunk will forever hold a special place in my heart, greatest game ever made.
I'm an emotionally dead individual, and even I shed a tear when pondering the greatness that is Edgerunners. Literally one of the greatest shows ever created. Everything about it was a 20/10 fr
@@M.TTT. its not a choice, they just go away. Everything except some anger and small happinesses. But, to be able to understand the world from such a unbiased and logical view is something i think everyone needs. Through a different way then mine though, if possible. The emotions have slowly come back but even now i still feel the effects, to try and explain how it feels now: everything just kind of feels unreal, something traumatic will happen but its like im in 3rd person spectating my life. Like reading a book. “Yea thats sad...” and thats it. I dont even know if i would cry if my mom died. Even though my emotions are mostly back. Theres a disconnect somewhere. But its slowly getting better. I think this anime helped with it also. But mainly Resolving yourself to something is the only way to get better.
The scene with david after the car crash with his mom and him findin out his mom passed away, the tension, him stompin his feet, the music in the background and in the end findin a resolution through all of that grief and pain is nothing less than a masterpiece 💯💯
I played cyberpunk since its launch and I loved it despite everything and I wanted more people to give it the opportunity, I knew that edgerunners would be that opportunity for them to come back to see more of this incredible universe
I love that she didn't look "seductive" or else, but the angle of the camera and the expression of childish joy was the real starting point of David's love.
I believe that is the moment he fell for her. TBH it would be hard not to if some chick saved you from getting your organs harvested then pulled off some insane death defying move to get you out of there, granted she did steal from you when you first met and later invites you to her house to get you gutted by her crew. So i guess at best you'd be very mixed with her. But thats for normal people lol David clearly fell head over heels for Lucy in this moment and didnt care about the getting robbed, then later set up as much.
@@MangaSt Lucy had plenty of scenes in Ep1 where she got very seductive. She convinces him sort of to work with her by groping and feeling him up on the train and gives him some "wanna get laid?" faces like when she wore David's mother's yellow jacket. But i like how she wasnt JUST seductive. She could also get deep in conversation like when they talked about dreams, and davids lack thereof and lucy's to go to the moon. And her death defying stunts also showed a lot of skill and ability to handle herself. So she was more than some hottie whos into crime.
Man, why didn't i watch this masterpiece when it first releases. After finishing it yesterday i feel so sad... For lucy and david, cant believe a series make me cry
im normally not very emotional, but i just couldnt help but cry at the end, and i still choke up hearing the song, and i just stop when it plays on the radio ingame..
I first encountered this song earlier this summer. I had just finished either the first or second cyberpsycho gig for Regina. I was higher than a kite and several beers in when I hear this song through the haze and I follow it. Turns out it was playing from somewhere in a laundromat. I stopped and listened to the whole thing. I cried and didn't even know why I was crying.
The first time I watched the anime I binged it all day, I was so invested and when the end came around I was crying for 10 minutes calling David an idiot and hating kiwi, missing Rebecca, and feeling guilty for Lucy. To this day, this anime has changed my outlook on life and me as a person. Teaching me.. Not to take the small moments in life for granite, and to never let a moment slip by with anyone. Taking the whole moment and enjoying it. I loved this anime, it's a 100 percent recommendation. And please, never take a second you have with anyone close for granite. Cherish it. Because you don't know when that moment.. Will be your last memory of that person.
None of my friends have played the game or seen this masterpiece of animation. So I come here and watch this and let the tears flow alone. Its so good to see all you chooms on here who know what I mean right?
I get you choom, the kind of series that hits this hard only come once a decade or so, and it tends to be kinda hard to explain just how good it is when trying to recommend it to someone
even if i didnt cry, i sat with my mouth wide open staring at my computer monitor like an idiot just shocked this show ended the way it did, such a good cast of characters and a tragic story for each and everyone of them
God the mixing and production on this track is so good. So many creative and weird decisions that end up working because it's not just audio focused, it's about creating an atmosphere and enhancing the storytelling in the lyrics. Love the way they mix and expand the 'Is that a compromise' vocals before going into the hook and then letting the song momentarily end before picking back up for the final go round.
Drew: “I’m not a fighter, I’m a lover.” Keanu: “No, no. Because you have to be a fighter to be a lover.” Drew: “How so?" Keanu: “What kind of love do you have if you don’t fight for it?”
the part the always hits me the hardest. "you didnt lose your self-control". *spoilers* he was down to the wire...the last tank of immunosuppresant...running the edge. he died as David, not a cyberpsycho.
@@necromia7490 ikr holy hell. the part where lucy kissed him on last part to have one last talk with him, and this line of the song hits, and david comes from cybersycho and lucy sighs cause she knows he is almost gone. There’s a hollow sadness I’ve only felt from a few shows, one single game, and a couple of books. The early seasons of Game of Thrones, the ending of Harry Potter, the Han Solo trilogy of Star Wars novels, Arthur Morgan’s last ride in RDR2, and now Edgerunners. I don’t know that I’ll ever figure out what the specific reason is for it but what I do know is that this show broke me… shattering me into tiny fragments spread over the surface of the moon. Knowing what I do now would I go back and do it all again? In a heartbeat. Masterpiece of character writing, pacing, and love. Now to feel the sun on my skin :)
This anime was truly amazing, in just 10 episodes. The music really pulls you in. Like most animes but this one is special. Like Berserk. Need an Adam Smasher spin-off.
Bro, idc if the anime is just a promotional material for the game 'cause it was just great. I agree with Charlie saying that if almost felt like watching Redline for the first time in some parts, the music, action and story simulates an atmosphere the show gives immerse you into the dystopian night city. I'm so glad I watched this, my prejudice was that it would be like the launch of the game but it slapped me otherwise.
Not even joking, I went into this anime thinking it would be some regular action romance, basic plot, and I left with my heart ripped out and in tears. That ending just hit me in the gut like no other anime has.
This song hit me hard till today. I don't know why, but i feel nostalgic. It's like edge runners was something that happened a long time ago and i was really there when it happens, one of the characters, living side to them. I was their friend and now, the only thing that last is their memories.
@@vincentcaliendo6402 the second episode when they're on the moon and the last episode when "SPOILER ALERT" David is dead and Lucy is alone on the moon
Thank you Guilty Gear Strive, I am not a cyberpunk player and used to think this anime was just an ordinary anime, so I watched this anime because Lucy was a guest character in Guilty Gear Season 4 and it turned out that the story was very deep and amazing.

Honestly I finished this show over a year ago and decided to watch it again because my niece was curious…. And gotta say it still feels the same the first time I watched it… I started tearing up once again and it takes a lot for me to even shed a tear… and all I gotta say is… the reason we all feel dead inside is because we wish someone has loved us that much that they are willing to sacrifice themselves to see you fulfill your own dreams… or maybe we did at one point in our life and that person either broke up with us or is no longer with us. I hope I get to meet my Lucy one day the same I wish you meet your David one day ❤
I really REALLY love the quality of this one. The binaural audio sounds soooo good in my earbuds, so crisp and clear, and the scenes of edgerunners in the background... Perfection.

I feel so old, dude. I am 71 years old now
I must be 70 years old. If my future self is reading this, hi. It's been a really long journey but im glad that you still remember this masterpiece
Really love this one and I also made remix cover version of this incredible song, so just go to my channel and check it out🫶🏻🫶🏻🎵🎵🎵
I almost felt your emotions from here, you words made me smile!
Wow
Man, I don't care if you don't like animation; you need to watch this show.
This song and the story: I feel it in my bones. I relate so hard.
I think man is out here struggling doing what he gotta to survive. He then meets someone who just flips and changes his life completely. We all met someone like that, and that feeling is the real relatable ecstasy we crave
lol if someone doesn't like this type of animation they're clearly on something. Trigger is a pretty established studio that made Gurren Lagann, Darling in the Franxx, Kill la Kill, etc.
I too am half man half cyborg
@@SCRKT007 Darling in the Franxx was bad, and I personally hated Gurren Lagaan. This show is good tho.
Too many clichés and treating the viewer like a 5yo for anime to be watchable
Definitely deserved the anime of the year award.
Wait it hadn't....?
@@maverick9357
Also, if you go to the Afterlife, you can order a David Martinez. That's basically the origin of Edgerunners and where it all started.
@@ajiththomas2465 I know lol. Everytime I go there I always buy David's drinks and I buy Jackie's drinks too
Its highly probably that lucy comitted suicide when she visit the moon in the end. Only an other sad fact 🤧🥲
Really makes this series so much sweeter when you learn that she's a tragically abused netrunner and not the ultra dom girl she seems to be. It is really a tale of love between two innocents.
❤
not all aloof girls are doms. i think dom girls are probably rarer than people think.
@@bullymaguire2061 Not at all, anyone with a basic understanding of humans knows women are not typically dominant at all.

@@u26535 Yeah force of nature villain well made.

Even now it's making my eyes sting and water, I need to compose myself but this anime really hit me hard.
They really made me want to play the game now.

The game is really worth it. The anime absolutely nailed the heart and soul of how Cyberpunk feels. One of the best games I’ve played in the last few years.

@@M.TTT. its not a choice, they just go away. Everything except some anger and small happinesses. But, to be able to understand the world from such a unbiased and logical view is something i think everyone needs. Through a different way then mine though, if possible. everything just kind of feels unreal, something traumatic will happen but its like im in 3rd person spectating my life. Like reading a book. “Yea thats sad...” and thats it. In the scene where Lucy is saving David from the doctor person and he looks at her you can see the awe and love in his eyes, SO FUCKING BEAUTIFUL
I hate starting to watch masterpieces like this because I'm always afraid my heart will shatter at the end. Turns out I was right once again.
