Kevboard Arts Ryse wasn't bad but that was it. And PS4 and knack and killzone shadow fall that were meh. We had to wait months before infamous second son and titanfall came out and those were average aswell. PS4 and Xbox one had a rough start so I don't see the hate around the switches launch.

Great designers made F-Zero GX amazing, same as they did with Super Monkey Ball. This doesn't hold a candle to either of those.

Tullzter yeah, a fast racing game is really hard to make right, but these guys really seem to know what they're doing every time they make a Fast Racing game :)

+OctaviusBlaze On nintendos website is factually states this game runs 1080p 60fps on the switch docked, and 720p 60fps when portable. Incredible.

Games do not need them, I despise them. Ironically I still go for platinums on games, but I hate the idea of them. It's why I love Nintendo games. I don't need a trophy to tell me I've killed a boss, I feel they break immersion.
Nintendo keeps on giving their licensing rights to the wrong third party companies and coming out with crappy games like Star Fox Zero and Metroid Other M. How about doing something right for once in that section and giving Shinen the rights to make a F-Zero game!?
Reala597 fun fact: Nintendo actually tried to talk to Criterion Games (developers of the Need For Speed games) to make an F Zero game for teh Wii U but they apparently had their hands full with other projects so they declined the offer
Why, in your opinion, is Star Fox Zero Cappy?
They tried to be innovative with the controls. I got sore arms for a week from holding up the gamepad for hours. They thought they could sell the game along with some weird tower defense game for $60. I beat the entire campaign in like two hours and found all the secrets in another hour so no it's not worth $60. The only good thing that came out of Star Fox Zero was the N64 nostalgia they were trying to convey and getting to finally see Star Fox in HD visuals.
Thanks for taking the time to write all that but... the controls works just fine and the game looks, sounds and feels awesome, playing with a friend is just amazing. I have played for days and my arms are fine. I don't think that some sore arms are something to say that this game is "crappy". Maybe a visit to the gym would help here...
Think that was a fair reply. Can 2nd the controls criticism. Balancing the observation of two screens as mechanic is less sharp than attacking before retreating when trajectory and aiming where tied together in the old games.
This is the first racing game I've been excited for in ages.

the game series was inspired by both f-zero and wipeout, so it's like a wonderful mix of both with it's own flavor thrown in
Don't go in expecting either F-Zero or Wipeout. This controls very differently. For one, there's a greater emphasis on ridiculously high speeds, if you can believe that. This race appears to be at the slowest speed I think? MAYBE the second slowest. It also feels considerably...different. Still a great game. The reflex testing element found in the phase shifting is very cool. And FAST Racing Neo (the game FAST RMX is based on) is much more fair than FAST Racing League on the Wii.

Although Shin'En obviously has incredible graphical engineers on board (just check their latest games, with the hardware and file size limitations in consideration), Fast Neo was a bit blurry because of what I assume was a resolution compromise. So think the hardware upgrade in Switch will be very benefitial to this game, a step up in resolution will give it the crispness Fast Neo lacked.

Wii U version was actually using awesome 4K and 8K resolution textures because of very fast eDRAM memory, that why it looked so good at under 720p, not sure about the Switch and its textures.

Love it, I want it already. Some people care so much about the system power. I prefer to care about its gameplay. At the end that is the core reason you buy games... TO PLAY AND HAVE FUN.

Hi *@Shin'en Multimedia*! Some quick questions, please answer:
1) Have you fixed the issue with the objects' resolutions or are we just going to pretend that everything looks good in the game, again? Because in the WiiU version everything looked like it was a comb at some point. All and I mean ALL the objects had pixelated outlines.
2) Have you fixed the issue with the accelerating being on the A button (the most uncomfortable button on the Nintendo controllers) instead of the triggers or even the "Y" button?
3) Have you fixed the issue with the camera being too close to the vehicle and too low close to the ground, no matter your camera choice?
4) Who on earth makes a boost line look like a fatal hazard (the ones looking like lasers firing on the ground)?
5) Have you planned any promotions for the people who bought the WiiU version?

TonyKanameKuran just because a game is hard doesn't mean its bad, i know that and enjoyed the last one but on the hypersonic league i couldn't unlock the Zivil Corp's car after countless atempts. i never said that difficulty was bad but its just that it could be toned down a little.
I actually don't find the game as brutal as most say. You just need to use the right vehicles at the right speeds. Only the cup with the desert track with no side railings gives me trouble at Hypersonic. And Hero Mode is actually easier since the AI doesn't handle the health meter very well.
FAST Racing Neo is nowhere near as unfairly hard as FAST Racing League on the Wii, where phase shifting itself cost energy and was used to cross death traps so if you used your energy boosting you were screwed.

Thibaut Mahringer looks great on my 1080p monitor! I don't think it drops below 900p in docked mode I've played it for hours now and always looked stunning without dropping a single frame!!

Doesn't really look like true 1080p. Maybe it's actually rendering at 720p? Perhaps 900p, or maybe it could be that it doesn't have antialiasing? I love this game on the Wii U, and resolution doesn't detract from its fun (it's not even 720p on it), but I don't get why this would be labeled as 1080p when it's clearly not. Maybe it's because it's not a final version, and once it's released they'll bump the resolution?

Fair enough. I just haven't seen it get to 1080p in any of the videos I've watched so far. The GUI does look like it could be 1080p but everything else beyond that seems to never get to 1080p at all.
Pato Crioyo Not sure how you can tell with such confidence on a UA-cam video. Because of the compression, telling the difference even between 720p and 1080p can be quite difficult.
(1/2) Not at all, Merry. Compression downgrades the images mainly in terms of
color resolution and it can lower resolution only when the bitrate can't
keep up with more pronounced changes in content from one frame to the
other (which is to say, you'll only lose the resolution of the original
video if there's a lot of movement).
If you have the right setup, it's really easy to tell whether or not real resolution matches the video file resolution (plus working on video post-production for 18 years helps). It's not that easy to tell when you have a small difference of resolution (like, say, going from 1080p to 1000p), but it's very obvious when you go much lower (like 720p, for instance).
(2/2) The giveaway is usually on slanted edges and the scale of the steps
compared to the full image size. Each step is a line of pixels, and each
line's size compared to the full image will let you know there's a
problem.
In this case it's especially obvious when you compared that
size to the pixel size of the GUI, which is in fact more defined than
the 3D content of the race itself. The GUI seems to be 1080p, you don't
see any resolution loss there, so it confirms it being the same as the
video file (which is 1080p60)This tells me the original video couldn't
be, say, 720p60 and then upscaled to 1080p60 for upload to UA-cam, so
the difference in resolution between GUI and content is internal, it
wasn't added in conversion.

explaining this more, though in more general terms. I don't think this
game requires a video analysis (let's leave that one to Digital Foundry!

Looks cool, but the gameplay seems pretty weak, just like in the prequel. You don't really steer. If you don't use the controls, you just bump into walls, so basically, it's not really racing, it's rail driving.

Not made by Nintendo, but is indicative of the type of third party titles we can expect. Sony is known for fostering relationships with talented third party devs; I would like to see Nintendo put as much emphasis on bringing great games to their platforms as they do with their quirky, out-of-the-box hardware ideas.
