I am Little Anthony's eldest son. I want to thank you for reacting to my father's songs 'Tears On My Pillow'. It is always refreshing to see younger generations liking his songs. Go down the rabbit hole. He was inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame in 2009. He still tours the country mostly on the east coast. Thank you again for your kind words. I will show him this reaction.
Little Anthony was HUGE back in the day!0
"Tears On My pillow" (1958). "Hurt So Bad," (1957) "Going Out of My Head," (1959) "Shimmy Simmy Ko Ko Bop," (1954) are just a few of their hits done back in the 50's. This great song shows how great Little Anthony and the Imperials were. Great reaction as always.
This great singer is still with us today and preforming until this day...seen him a few year back...
So many hits by Little Anthony & the Imperials - "Goin' Out of my Head", "Hurt So Bad", "I'm On the Outside (Looking In)" - all written by the talented Teddy Randazzo, a long-time friend of the singers in the group.
There will never be music like this again...100% class act. Beautiful voice!
There's endless music like that on "AMERICAN BANDSTAND"
That is when singers had style and real voices
Just two kinds of people in the world - Little Anthony
All Little Anthony and the Imperials, but please do I'm on the outside looking in next. A must do next love the 2 of you.
First time I heard this song, I went right out and bought the album. Still have it.
Before the mid 90s you had to really be able to sing, to be a singer. There was no autotune. You either had talent or you didn’t. That’s why music before mid 90s and earlier sounds so much better than music now.
Great choice. My favorite of theirs is "Hurts so Bad", it really shows the power of his voice
P.S. When he sang Tears On My Pillow,he was only seventeen. That was in 1958.
I saw them in concert with the Lettermen in 1967 in Albany, Ga. One of the better concerts I saw.
One of my favorite songs and one of my earliest memories is hearing my father playing this song.
I was lucky enough to catch the end of the doo wop era, Little Anthony and the Imperials was my favorite group as a little boy in Brooklyn where I could hear guys singing in the stairways of the apartment building (great acoustics).
You guys are from 2022 and love songs 65 years back. What does that say for music of today? That was a great era!!
Little Another a great great 👍talent can't be touched.
There was so much really good music back then.
