This is a safety issue comment regarding the use of grout (sanded or not) and plaster.
These two can be harmful to skin and lungs when the dust particles are airborne. Grout has fine silica shards that when inhaled can cause irreversible damage to your lungs. The severity depends on the amount inhaled and period.
Wear dust masks (n95 or higher is recommended), gloves, and preferably, work outdoors where ventilation can help blow the dust away from your face (make sure there are no people nearby).
Sure buddy, I use mask but I don't think gloves is necessary.

Glass testubes are better buddy, the plastic is cheaper but can be easily scratch that will make the view blurry in the long run.

What brand/kind of grout do you recommend? I’ve been trying to find the right kind in Belgium in my language (Dutch) but I can’t seem to figure out what the right material is to buy. Big fan of your videos fyi! Learned a lot from you ❤
Thanks buddy, I use a normal tile grout with ABC brand. If possible take the sanded grout variation its better for water absorption.

For this small size the entrance is enough for ventilation buddy.

How do you provide a water drinking source for chambers like this?
They can drink on the wet floor buddy, except for the one with water tower.
D colony my fire ants will move into there first ant farm in a few days. There growing population slowed down with later feeding and fridge.
As for my marauder ants still no majors
I got gifted with a sandwich type nest (balik bayan gift) that ill move my fire ants to it has a lot of flaws but i can fix them
D colony what do you suggest on what type of sand i use for digging
Sterelize Coco peat or dirt is better than sand buddy.
That's nice buddy, but don't put tropical ant specie on fridge.

And hope youll check the antwiki for more info (many other species might also be native that you may have been native without yourself knowing)
I believe tapinoma melanocephalum native range is unknown buddy, but no problem with that. I will eliminate even native ants if they pose danger to my pet ants, as long as they are not endangered specie i don't see wrong with that.

You can follow this for cement buddy, it will work fine just change the grout with cement.

Yes buddy, but sand tunnels is easier to collapse better use sterelized dirt, or Coco peat.

Can you do formicarium for weaver Ant please
I haven't experimented on them yet buddy since I wanna use plants on them, main reason why I'm not keeping them since I don't have big enough container to keep the plants as well, but let's see.
What do you use as an ant barrier?
Fluon and olive oil buddy, depends on the type of ant.
@@Dcolony Thanks. I've heard that larger species like camponotus cant cross an oil barrier, but smaller species require fluon or something simmilar to keep them from escaping.
Can you make these with air dry clay
Sorry, I don't have experience using it buddy so I don't have an idea.
@@Dcolony I tried to do one a few days before I asked you and I wouldn't recommend it. Now it's dried a bit it has shrunken and cracked and adding water back to it turns it back to clay, I thought I'd ask for your advice anyway since you have good experience building these. I've made one out of cement and perlite now so will see how this hydrates. Much love

I just follow the instructions on the grout packaging buddy, but I believe I made a more detail mixing of grout on my 1st ever diy video buddy, just check the playlist ant keeping DIY. Hope it helps.
