Wow! That's a lot of new colonies, and what's more impressive is you catched the queens on yourself. Good job!

Hehe yes, all my colonies is from queens that I caught buddy except for the colonies given to me.

Your location is so perfect. In my country (at least there where I live) are literally only Lasius and Myrmica and some Formica. NO Camponotus even though some are native to my country like Camponotus Ligniperdus and Herculeanus. Really sad :(
But for next year I hope that you catch a lot of queens.

Thanks buddy, I hope so! Btw, If the specie is native there buddy maybe you're just missing the flights schedule in you're area. Good luck! Hope you get some soon.

The calyptomermex ant Queens need food before they even lay eggs, they are the type of queen ants that hunt while she has eggs

Yes buddy, I got two of these, the one in classic testube set up got a little outworld to forage, the other one is with testube and soil which I plan to feed on the 1st larvae. It's my first time trying so I really want to approach it in different ways. Next time I wanna try the method I use for anochetus.

Calyptomyrmex queens are semi-claustral and need regular food before they lay eggs. In the wild I assume they would be searching for some plant saps and small dead isopods to feed on.

@@Dcolony The problem is they cannot sustain themselves without food before they reach the larval stage, before they even lay eggs!

Don't those last ants you showed eat spider eggs or something? I seem to remember them having a very particular diet. Since one queen built a smaller chamber with the sand maybe giving them substrate is the best idea.
I hope you have more time to find queens next season. The ant season is just starting here in NYC. I've found one queen so far. Prenolepis imparis, I have to keep her in a cooler because they live so deep underground and warm temperatures can kill them.
Antkeeping is probably harder than keeping exotic fish, but I don't think people realise.
Excellent video and update. I love all of your pavement ant colonies and the footage was excellent.

Thanks so much buddy, base from the group that I've join, some keepers there successfully raised the last queen through semi claustral manner according to them they just use normal feeders. But thanks for the info buddy appreciate it a lot, will look further into it. 🫡
