I am Danish but I don't have any problems understanding him, but I travel a lot and are used to accents so I gotten quite good at filling in the places where they use a word I haven't heard before or understand.
As an English Southerner I can happily say it didn't take me long to understand the Scots I worked with when I spent a week at Eurocentral 😀 My accents pretty good too.
Danny Bhoy. My apologies. Gaelic spelling is it? Even though I'm Irish myself I was raised in Australia so I'm still not too familiar with the intricacies of the Irish or Scottish letter sound relationships, i.e. Siobhan. Stumps me every time. My favourite comedian would have t be Dave Allan RIP and Dara O'Briain. I quite like Stephen Colbert too. ps, Frankie Boyle is okay.
This routine is so fucking stupid, that its utterly brilliant at the same time, and while he says its based on a true story... I friggin believe it too! LOL Kevin Bridges is most definitely one of the best comedians that I have seen in a while.
Aiysha17 can you put Mickey Flanagans cockney stuff in Scotchish ? think there could be mileage in that for the scotch conasuir of comedic talent , Cheers
Kev the Rammer Kev mate! us Scots are a far more advanced People! we don't need subtitles on english comedians vids we understand every accent you people have! Even cunts from Devon and cornwall. 😉
Haha it is necessary for those from basically anywhere other than Scotland :D I've just uploaded 2 more subtitled sketches from him, my goodness he's good :D
Aiysha17 yeh the accent can be kinda hard for people who aren't Scottish (I'm gonna take a guess and say that you are also Scottish?) he is super funny I've loved all the bits I've seen from him
I'm not saying it's all English people but some don't understand stronger accents and yeh I think those people are pretty stupid cause it ain't that hard
Markuz07 I'm glad you understand us but many non Brits do not. in fact many Brits do not. Just like certain English accents can be hard to understand. It's not always about words used. It's about speed and intonation as much as anything else. Plus certain phrases that can be English but are hard to understand at face value unless you understand the history behind them. Language and accents are complicated. I made this for a laugh and people with a similar sense of humour appreciate it. If it's not your thing, fair dooz - but don't act like everyone in the world understands all Scottish accents, because they don't.
No subtitles = reaches fewer people. It's basic maths, really. Even the most evenly delivered Londonian english needs subtitles - and not only to cater to those with hearing disabilities, but to cater to everyone who would have trouble following the sound of the voice alone. Pair the stand up routine with subtitles and it's easier for a lot of people to follow. But then again, I'm used to subtitles, living in a country where english is not the no.1 language (but it comes in as a close 2nd).
Haha no problem! Many people find it challenging. When I lived in Hungary, my students were fluent in English but when we did a lesson on accents and I had them try to simultaneously translate this video to the class... well, they freaked hahaha! If you enjoyed him though, I have just uploaded two other subtitled sketches of his. :)
Gene Nelson yeah it isn't an easy task understanding some people in the UK. Especially Scotland. While most scots would call English their language, they only really write in English but tend to speak a mixture of English, Scots and Gaelic. Some words sound english, some sound slightly different and other words are swapped out for something else entirely. This is why no one can truly be fluent in any language as the same language evolves differently from place to place. It doesn't mean Brits can't speak English in it's purest form. It just feels wierd when we do. The same rules apply to many places in the states although most English speakers have little to no issue understanding Americans due to your movies, tv shows and music being so widespread.
Stephen Dawson the fact you don't the answer to that question cracks me up :D Read how many foreign/English people have said they wouldn't understand him... nuf said really pal
Not a single smile out of me. Don't get me wrong... I loved Scotland... been there and Eddie Izzard is just fabulous, so I guess it's just the type of comedy.
haha that's him toning it down and trying to speak clearly for performance but he has improved much more now. Being Scottish, I know how funny he is, so that's why I really wanted to subtitle it because our accent is difficult to understand sometimes. To help him be understood better because I find him hilarious lol
Awww :D It is also hilarious for telling jokes. Some thing just don't "translate" well haha! I've done 2 more subtitled videos of his sketches tonight, if you fancy some more :) Thanks for watching!
MetroMakeover Gawd save us all if that's the case. I didn't hear anything funny while this boy spent his time on stage gargling and making crude sounds, like somebody doing horrible things to a cow that hadn't been milked for a long time. Is this really how Scottish people sound or does this boy have a speech impediment of some type?
I love the posh people translations at the bottom 'tattle tale' lmao, he said grass mate😂
I love the fact they have to put subtitles for his insanely thick Glasgow accent
I'm Norwegian and i understand him just fine
I am Danish but I don't have any problems understanding him, but I travel a lot and are used to accents so I gotten quite good at filling in the places where they use a word I haven't heard before or understand.
the Glaswegian-English subtitles make it funnier
Haha thank you! I've just uploaded 2 more of his sketches with subtitles because this one has been rather appreciated :D Love him and his accent!
Aiysha17 please can you upload Danny Boyles gigs with subtitles
Aiysha17 canny whack a gid Scottish comedian
I just love the Scottish accent
Thx for the added subs. As a non native English speaker it just makes it that bit easier to watch.
You're very welcome!
brilliant as always, love Kevin 😂
I am also from Glasgow. The jokes are way funnier if you live there.
even if i dont fully understand it, i love scottish accent
Hopefully the subtitles helped haha
Comedy like music or the arts is quite subjective. Each to their own poison, eh!
im a sucker for a bargin.....
As an English Southerner I can happily say it didn't take me long to understand the Scots I worked with when I spent a week at Eurocentral 😀
My accents pretty good too.
Brilliant hoouse rice
I'm Australian and I can understand him. We are use to British comedians i. e Danny Buoy.
Danny Bouy or Danny Boyle?
Danny Bhoy. My apologies. Gaelic spelling is it? Even though I'm Irish myself I was raised in Australia so I'm still not too familiar with the intricacies of the Irish or Scottish letter sound relationships, i.e. Siobhan. Stumps me every time. Ha! Ha! Sorry Martin the Pedant.
+Anthony Whelan Danny Bhoy is class mate seen a few of his show when he was in aussieland. The Bhoy is because he supports celtic btw...
Anthony Whelan Danny Bhoy is a sad sad excuse for a comedian.
Cun ye relle noh unastun me ya weegie bas?

Paul horneto - It's whether we can or not, it's more we can't be arsed to. ;-)
Paul horneto i had to read it twice to understand you......i'm proud of myself😉
This is brilliant. Thank you for uploading
Fantastic job
How can people not understand him lol I'm English and it's no trouble at all
Damn I was enjoying that, where's the rest of it =0)
This routine is so fucking stupid, that its utterly brilliant at the same time, and while he says its based on a true story... I friggin believe it too! LOL
Kevin Bridges is most definitely one of the best comedians that I have seen in a while.
I know, I love him. He is easily one of my favs! I've just uploaded 2 more short sketches from him that are also subtitled :)
Aiysha17 can you put Mickey Flanagans cockney stuff in Scotchish ?
think there could be mileage in that for the scotch conasuir of comedic talent , Cheers
Kev the Rammer haha that's not a bad idea :D I may consider it :P hahaha
Kev the Rammer Kev mate! us Scots are a far more advanced People! we don't need subtitles on english comedians vids we understand every accent you people have! Even cunts from Devon and cornwall.
😉
I like the subtitles for the non weegies haaha
Haha it is necessary for those from basically anywhere other than Scotland :D I've just uploaded 2 more subtitled sketches from him, my goodness he's good :D
Aiysha17 yeh the accent can be kinda hard for people who aren't Scottish (I'm gonna take a guess and say that you are also Scottish?) he is super funny I've loved all the bits I've seen from him
It's easy enough to understand being Irish
I'm not saying it's all English people but some don't understand stronger accents and yeh I think those people are pretty stupid cause it ain't that hard

10/10 translation
Thank you lol
best comedian
His 'thankyou' at 0:15 sounds like 'fuck you'.
Nicest greeting ever.
hahaha
Sub-titles with linguistic explanations...hhahahahahahaha.
Hahaha it is necessary sometimes :P :D Thanks for the watch and comment though :)
There's subtitles lol this is funny on its own but add the subtitles and for some reason it just make it funnier lol not that I need the subtitles
It quite clearly say in the title best comedy scetvh ever. IT WAS!!!????
For me lol
for me he is the Scottish dave chapelle
It's he's accent that makes it funny
No subtitles = reaches fewer people.

Exactly why I made them. 🤗😊
Thank you for the subtitles otherwise I wouldn't understand a single word. I like this accent though
Haha no problem! Many people find it challenging. When I lived in Hungary, my students were fluent in English but when we did a lesson on accents and I had them try to simultaneously translate this video to the class... well, they freaked hahaha! I'm not a grass, tittle tattle informant lol:-)
Strong title for an average sketch
I got to tell you I sincerely appreciate the English subtitles for heavy English dialects
thanks for the subtitles so us tanks from the state's can understand the gibberish you folks in the UK call English...
Gene Nelson yeah it isn't an easy task understanding some people in the UK. Especially Scotland. The irony was intentional, thanks for noticing
Gene Nelson Nah! You seem like a bit of a Sherman tank! so auto correct got it spot on.
Gene Nelson
No, tanks is acceptable, Londoners may refer to you as a 'septic tank', Cockney rhyming slang for 'yank'...
apparently the irony of an American describing UK English as "gibberish" has been lost on a portion of the population.
+Aiysha you're cute and good luck with the acting career
this guy reminds me of jim jeffries.
Let's make it official.. Scottish isn't an accent but a whole new distant language, which has nothing in common with any other one spoken by humans :p
funny shit....😂😂
Many English accents need tranlationsn's too.
JohnConnor310355 I agree lol maybe I'll consider doing a few of them but being Scottish, I felt I was better of starting at home :)
if only stand up was that easy! (this is redubbed)
subtitles for the English speaking country that only understand their own English.... America
I could hardly understand a word that was coming out of his mouth but at least all them other folks were into it
That's what the subtitles were for lol
can't you do the subtitles within youtube, so that they can be disabled?
why is this subtitled?
Stephen Dawson the fact you don't the answer to that question cracks me up :D Read how many foreign/English people have said they wouldn't understand him... nuf said really pal
It did not need subtitles.
subtitles, really?
why the sub titles?
great but the best I do not think so
Not a single smile out of me. Don't get me wrong... I loved Scotland... been there and Eddie Izzard is just fabulous, so I guess it's just the type of comedy.
not bad but not great
It's his accent for real, or he only exaggerates it for sounding... funnier?
haha that's him toning it down and trying to speak clearly for performance but he has improved much more now. Being Scottish, I know how funny he is, so that's why I really wanted to subtitle it because our accent is difficult to understand sometimes. To help him be understood better because I find him hilarious lol
This accent is terrifying!! 😵
Awww :D It is also hilarious for telling jokes. Some thing just don't "translate" well haha! I've done 2 more subtitled videos of his sketches tonight, if you fancy some more :) Thanks for watching!
Michal Kremer The fuck? He's Scottish, I'm Scottish if you're afraid of an accent well you're fucked then ain't ye?
Sorry if I hurt your feelings. I did not mean to.
without the Scottish accent this isn't as funny so I think tge subtitles are a bit pointless
is that an Eskimo accent?
whats with the subtitles i find that racially offensive, i would never ask for subtitles for someone from birmingham, or liverpool,
is Scotland SO boring that this is claimed as "The best comedy routine ever"?
MetroMakeover must be it. Was waiting for the punchline so that the title might make sense. But it never came
MetroMakeover Gawd save us all if that's the case. I didn't hear anything funny while this boy spent his time on stage gargling and making crude sounds, like somebody doing horrible things to a cow that hadn't been milked for a long time. Is this really how Scottish people sound or does this boy have a speech impediment of some type?
Irish accent?
Lol oh no no, Scottish :D He is from Glasgow :) I've just uploaded 2 more of his sketches with subtitles, if you fancy a look :) Thanks for watching!
Proust blasphemy!
Best ever? not even top 50!
that wasn't funny.
Lowest common denominator humour. Ideal for the undereducated.
CaptBloodeye is that why you clicked in the video yeah
You must be a riot at parties.
If you believe yourself to be so high-brow that even *a joke* is beneath you, then maybe don't watch comedy clips on UA-cam. Simple.
2 minutes in... Not a laugh. Watch John Pinette instead people.
thanks for the sub...really helped a deaf like me...well im not really deaf...i just suck with accents
Haha you're welcome hun x
