I have found that HTV on painted wood peels better cool. Hardly any lifting once you let it cool. Also I have used mod podge over HTV and it caused the vinyl to lift within a week or so. I’ve since read to never use mod podge on top of vinyl.
I tried to make a Round that I painted with acrylic paint and stain and my heat press cooked all of the paint off. I had it on 305° does that sound right to you?
First off, I'm not trying to be a troll (just wanted to get that out the way) Why couldn't you just use Permanent Vinyl? You wouldn't have to heat that.
Thank you for the video! I wasn't sure how the heat would affect the painted wood. Great tips and tricks!
Looks awesome, this was very helpful for my project

Interesting, I’ve never had any issues with Modge Podge on any type of vinyl. Thanks for the comment.

Try a lower heat. It may take a few minutes with pressure, but higher heat is likely the issue (in my opinion). Thanks for the comment.
Do a cool peel

Its because htv looks like it was painted
True! I’ve found the HTV stuck better to the wood, especially once Modge Podged. Either way is fine.
