He commented the solution in reply to a few others! I did it and it actually worked for me and I'm so happy. You have to be patient and wait for the whole system to reload and reset. THIS REALLY WORKS!! I was told at the dealership (after they replaced my battery) that the DVD player was "stripped?!". It was just too coincidental since the whole thing worked fine the day before. I was quoted $4,000 for a new stereo system there and $900 from a car electronics guy! I am so thrilled that this technique actually worked. Also, this was after I ordered the DVD on Ebay because I had inadvertently taken it out, since the navigation system didn't seem to work anymore - not realizing that it has ALL the software is on it for the radio and CD player. So just follow the directions above and it should work.
Guys, simply read Adams comment to keep trying until the DVD reset itself. Insert the DVD 📀then turn off the ignition. Turn on the ignition and see if the radio resets. Repeat the process until it works.
I tried putting my DVD back in and it makes a clicking sound and then spits it back out. Tried turning it off to let it reset. Still does it. Any idea???
If the disc is outside and rejected by the Navigation, insert the DvD and Turn off the car after 5 seconds. Turn it back on after a minute and it should work.
2011 prius with DVD in there and the fuses and maybe battery under hood (if it's located there as the rear was never accessed) fiddled with by someone else and once I got back to driving, I had the no DVD screen. I have tried reinserting, pushing power but not brake, turning off and on... I have no idea what to do.
My DVD wouldn’t come out it got stuck I got it out but now it seems like it don’t wanna go back in but it finally did do I need DVD to be able to work the radio cause I really don’t need the map. Will it still work?

Hi Kellybah15, I have the car 2010 Mazda CX-9 with DVD map rejecting like that, spending many time on youtube and google guide me disconnected battery and it not work for me also have massages on the screen to contact dealer. Please help me! Tks!
I have 2011 Mazda cx 9 the same problem like you car I was planning to go to dealer but I knew they going to charge me for diagnose and they will advise me to charge it I also plan to buy used but before that I said it’s already broken now this just like playing ground and I used a dvd inserted half way and and shake it to release the map dvd inside when I did this the loading sounds stopped next I pressed on the right bottom corner of the screen that is the place the map dvd icon even though it dark in this time after that it’s started loading everything came back. By this time you might be fixed yours but any one have this problem can fix the problem
I tried all these tips on my 2008 Highlander and nothing. Thought I’d have to replace the entire unit or an aftermarket-neither I wanted. FIND A REPAIR SHOP THAT WORKS ON FACTORY RADIO AND NAVIGATION UNITS. For me, it was the dvd drive gears that went out when I ejected to map dvd and it wouldn’t reload no matter what. Found a shop and repaired (not replaced) for a few hundred bucks…reasonable considering my other options. Now I’m back.
Insert the disk and turn of the ignition immediately before the radio rejects the disk. Wait a moment and turn the ignition back on. It should fix the problem. Repeat the procedure if it didnt work the first time. I did mine severally and also remove the battery head(Black color head) and pumped the breaks severally. But what actually fixed the radio was when I inserted the DVD into the map slot and immediately turned off the car ignition before the DVD tries to eject. Then waited a minute or so and turned back the car ignition.
@@kellybah15 thanks a lot for your simple and clear information as I'm just about to try on a toyota avalon after AKL situation i managed to add 1 new key to 1 off my customer.
Remove the Negative terminal of the car engine battery and wait for 5minutes before you reconnect the terminal. If your Navigation DVD is outside, turn on the ignition to boot the DVD 📀 and insert the DVD 📀. Turn off the ignition Immediately the DVD pulls into the compartment. This should reset the radio when you restart the ignition. I hope this helps. 🙏
Hi I'm from Iraq and I have a Toyota 4runer 2010 and I have a problem that bothers me in the radio (Please insert map DVD) What is the solution in your opinion for the flag does not impress me car camera
@Luis...try and follow the description on the video I made few years ago. If the navigation disc is ejected, try to turn off the vehicle completely and remove key. Open the hood and remove the battery (Black head) terminal for 5minutes. Enter the vehicle while the terminal is still disconnected and press down on the break throttle slowly for multiple times. Give it another 10 to 15minutes then try to insert the DVD disc at the opening of the disc compartment so that when power comes to the radio it will automatically grab the disc. Then go to the engine and reconnect the battery termi terminal. Go back into the car, insert the key to the ignition and start the vehicle so the radio can come on and grab the disc if it didnt grab it when you reconnected the battery. If it didnt work, repeat the procedure by removing both battery terminal heads(Red and Black terminals). Also try this last procedure: eject the Navigation DVD, insert it back and turn off the ignition instantanously while the disc is about to slide into the Navigation system. Then start the ignition again to see if it works. Remember I was trying anything I could and it worked for me. This is simply an educational video...I am not a certified Toyota technician but made the video for educational purposes. Many tried it and it worked for them as well. Listen to the video and the instructions and repeat them if it don't work. Or simply go to dealer shop and pay to fix it if you may not have the patience to try it. Thanks.
Watch this UA-cam video below to understand better. I think the guy bought another CD and inserted it to reset his radio. You can reset your radio with your own disc. Insert the disc and turn off your ignition at same time while the disc tries to settle down. Afterwards, start your ignition, wait and see if the radio resets as shown in the video link below. Hope this helps. ua-cam.com/video/ynTuTxx14cI/v-deo.html&feature=share
The solution is eject the map CD and insert it back into the slot and immediately turn off the ignition. Wait a moment and start the vehicle. If it doesn't work then go to Toyota dealer shop.
