Very nice and detailed procedure, Brad. You might want to consider stressing voltage read-outs / settings for those of us that don't have the Ducati Diag tool. Like the 2.5 degrees needing to be close to 405 mV

the guzzidiag / iawdiag diagnostic software is free (you can donate a few bucks to them), you just buy the cable from lonelec . better to have it than not have it. all the voltage info is in the linked report on my website.

Thanks for the awesome tech video. Are you planning to do a video for the 4v Desmoquattro TPS?

Great video! I am in the process now. I have a 2000 Cagiva GC which should the same as the ST2. I've set the TPS to 155mv. When I start setting the idle screw (left side TB), I cannot get 404mv. To get 400-480mv, my throttle is wide open. What am I doing wrong?

sounds like you're reading at the wrong wires to me.

@@bradthebikeboy You are correct! THANK YOU! I had the wrong blue wire tapped. I found the correct blue wire and adjusted Mv's accordingly, fully closed 150Mv and idle (stop) set screw to 404 Mv. Do you have a video or instructions for syncing the TB's?

Hello there, where can I get your little box whom you plug the multimeter in ? I can't find it 🥲
My 750SSie seems to have a return in the airbag and does not want to rev.
I put out the airbag and I wish to follow your teachings in your video/internet page.
    Thanks a lot

it's part of the original mathesis kit. i doubt you'd find one anywhere. you could make up some little jumper wires with a pigtail. i've done that before.

Tx for this one, reminds me the 'no tps reset' warning from yr website🙂

Please it this procedure possible to use also for my 695 2006 Monster?

Ive plugged my diagnostic tool to the bike and it read tps sensor fault code. I tweak the tps sensor and deleted the code, but i did reset the TPS to zero now the bike runs very rich,
Will this procedure be effective even though earlier ive reset the tps to zero?
The bike is 2003 ducati m620 ie

    • @bradthebikeboy
      @bradthebikeboy  2 роки тому +1

no idea what you mean by reset the tps to zero. this is a basic baseline procedure that should make it work well if you do it all correctly and if there is nothing else wrong with the bike.

@@bradthebikeboy it turned out the tps is bad and also valve stem seals are shot, did the rebuild and the bike is running , but im having problem at 3-4k rpm sluggish response but above that the bike run smooth, im gonna redo this procedure and balance the TBs.
Should the tps angle at idle sit at 2.4deg?
Edit i rewatched the video. I see what i did wrong

Just finished re doing this method. Followed instructions thru your website, synching tb with airbleed screws all the way in and pulled the choke to balance vacuum set the idle at 1200rpms and check if balanced and that did the trick!
      Runs better than before
      Thanks Brad!

    Hey
I just bought a multistrada 1000DS , and it keeps stalling at red lights / stop signs . it idles arround 900 RPM , can i adjust the little allen had at the throttle cable or do i need to reset my TPS sensor ? i could get the ducati diag for arround 40 euro (cable and software)

    • @bradthebikeboy
      @bradthebikeboy  2 роки тому +2

you can adjust that - it's completely the wrong thing to do, but you can do it if you want to, it's your bike. i'd first make sure the valve clearances are right, and that means closing clearances set to 0 clearance without drag. then clean the throttle bodies at the butterflies in case there's a build up of crap there. then go through the normal throttle body set up including an electronic tps reset (which it shouldn't need unless the ecu has been replaced). at that point it should be right. if it's not, move on to this - bradthebikeboy.blogspot.com/2019/07/multistrada-1000-not-idling-ecu-based.html
      guzzidiag / iawdiag is free - www.von-der-salierburg.de/download/GuzziDiag/
the cable you buy from lonelec - www.lonelec.com/product/guzzidiag-3pin-interface-cable-kit/

@@bradthebikeboy Thanks alot for the reply , im new to ducati's , the bike only has 15.000 km's on it , and the nearby dealer is 200 KM's away .
I saw ur website on ECU based problem . i think my bike is fully original , maby it only needs a valve job , and maby the butterfly's need to be sync'd .
i dont wanna press RESET TPS too soon as u said . but at every light stalling is also frustrating . i cannot get it to idle above 900 RPM , i check 1 air screw it was more then 2 turn's out , so maby i need to start there ?? the bikes starts fine and runs very good after 2000 rpm's .
Also , i only see a TPS sensor , i dont see any idle control stepper motors ?

@@nitroboy2 sounds like it's had someone who doesn't know what they're doing going at it. really, you need to start with the basics and go from there. if you can't do it yourself, you'll need someone who can do it. otherwise, you're just wasting your time.

@@bradthebikeboy Well i fix my old russian motorbikes all the time , but this is my first 'non' carburetor bike . i would like to learn .
i hooked up my ducati software , and i woundt the screw fully out , and my TPS sensor said 4 degree's , and the software says something like 'throttle at minimum' close throttle to reset TPS , my TPS wont go lower then 4 degree's , i saw there is another allen had screw in the middle of the body's , but then i need to take the tank off my multistrada i guess ? tomorrow im getting my carbtune 2 PRO , and my local shop will lent me their gas-meter .

    • @bradthebikeboy

@@nitroboy2 the mts1000 was the first ducati to use an idle control valve, and the software is somewhat unique in that the throttle opening displayed by the diagnostic tools is a "throttle opening plus stepper motor equivalent opening" value. ime all tools for the mts1000 will show that, whereas no other model does. so 4 degrees is typical from memory. most people don't mess with the stop screw in the middle (lh throttle body, vertical cylinder), so it's usually fine. if you mess with that and do a tps reset you change the baseline throttle blade to tps reading relationship.
