"It might not look pretty" Are you kidding me!!??!?! It is one of the most aesthetically- beautifull-challenging posture that I have seen till now. It took me breath away!!
Same here. I stretch every single day and my hamstrings are still so tight 😢

That’s because muscles are elastic - like rubber bands. They are not supposed to “stretch out” too much. Muscles hold your bones together. If you’re too loose you’re more prone to injury. The restriction you are feeling might be in the fascia, which coats and surrounds the muscles and organs, in which case you’d want to practice more yin yoga
Charlie , I have been following you since 2023 march. One thing I am facing problem with that when I try to standing splits or three leged down dog or whatever that includes to raise my legs up, I dont understand should I rotate my leg from the hip joints so that I don't get stuck upto a level I raised because after that it doesn't get raised anymore. when my legs are raised from that position just the way I stand I mean toes will be just forward(my knee stays bent cause I have duck feet) and suppose from there I am doing standing splits (without rotating externally or internally anything) I feel that I can't raise after a level anymore. I feel the same in three legged downdog too. Is it normal or something I should change?
The thing for me is my legs won’t lift more than halfway,, and that is a success because oftentimes it doesn’t reach even 180 degrees to be parallel to the ground. What’s wrong with me? 😢
my leg always wants to rotate out when i do standing splits, so ive been focusing on keeping it turned down with my knee facing the floor, cant go as high that way but it feels more like the proper alignment
These short clips with tips are great. My hand stand game immediately got better after watching one of the previous ones.

My problem is that i can lengthen the hamstrings with exercise, but within 15mins, i need to start again. They don't stay lengthened

Any tips on what to do if you can't lift the back leg higher than the hips (think warrior 3)? Is it a hip rotation issue?

after 12 years of practicing yoga I've never been able to do standing splits or raise the leg high in down dog :(
