I've just bought it in Europe for 1600 dollars (13659HX, 4080, 512 SSD, 16 RAM, 1200p screen) but it was exceptional great deal, regular price in shops currently is 2600 USD
My top priority on a laptop is the display. All reviews focus on gaming performance with almost no mention of display quality. Brightness and color gamut are critical. I would not want anything less than 400 nits and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut with HDR support. OLED would be best but gaming laptops dont seem to offer that. The 1600P version of the Strix has a 500 nit 100% DCI-P3 screen but does not support HDR! All laptops in the comparison have very weak, dim displays. I would prefer OLED or mini LED display but im not finding any here in Canada. These are all fairly disappointing. I would love to see more focus on the displays!

If you are looking for maxed out settings the rog strix g16 i9 4070 is the best option but if that is out of your budget the 4060 g16 will definitely get the job done

I would say the strix is more premium feeling, better display, better speakers, better RGB, better thermals than the victus, but the victus should play games pretty well for the money. I guess you have to decide if its worth the price to upgrade

Edit: I returned my HP Omen 17 and bought a Helios 18. I love my new laptop so far. I don't have any problems with it currently
which Omen 17 did you get? what year, CPU. GPU combo?
Maybe set your own fan curve and undervolt the GPU to optimize temps. You could also buy a laptop cooler to reduce temps over the long haul.

The CPU seems to max out at about 70 degrees in the video, but CPUID showed 95 on mine. Is this something to be concerned about?
