I have only shipped one horse with Equine Express but I was totally impressed by the professionalism and personal care that my horse received. Communication along the trip, Washington to Texas, was excellent so that we were able to met up on schedule. This is a great video!

I've had two experiences with Equine Express: once as a client, transporting a horse from Massachusetts to Maryland, and another as a farm owner, seeing off two client-owned horses. I can confirm the careful attention to horse care, as well as the professionalism of the office staff. However, both of the drivers I have dealt with, for all their attention to horsemanship, fell short in their level of professionalism toward clients. On both occasions, I was spoken to rudely and accused of providing incorrect information about the farm's location and its accessibility by truck. Both of these farms do present challenges, but have been routinely served by semi rigs in the past and safe loading/unloading locations were readily accessible. In the first case, EE was notified of the challenges well in advance and we were assured by the office staff that it wouldn't be a problem for the drivers. In the second case, I had no dealings with EE until their rig arrived, so I have no idea what they were or were not told. To make matters worse, the client never even mentioned EE to us as the shipper and said specifically that her horses would be picked up by a small trailer. Suffice it to say, we were quite surprised when EE rolled up with their semi rig. Because the driver looked confused, I walked out to offer my help on where to safely park and load (like I mentioned, we're used to getting deliveries from semis). After getting quite an earful from the driver without so much as a greeting first (I really wish I had a recording!) , I decided to leave him to figure it out himself. Luckily, even though our driveway is a no-go for a semi, the road is very quiet with little traffic so loading from the roadside is a non-issue. I guess he managed to figure as much out because the horses got carted away and I never heard another word about it. I'll be the first to admit it would be wonderful to live on a paved road and have a nice wide driveway with a big circle drive and loading ramp at the end, but the fact is we can't all be Ashford Stud. In any case, none of the challenges posed by either location should be a problem for a trained CDL driver and these guys are the ONLY ones that have ever had any issues, let alone expressed such ire at having to do their jobs. Suffice it to say, I really want to love this company for their impeccable horse care, but I can't recommend them and won't personally do business with them simply because I don't enjoy being treated like garbage.
