- In this video we're answering one of the most asked questions, do we still love living in Greece? We're on the Greek island of Naxos (Cyclades) and have been here for about a month. We're discussing if we're still enjoying it here after a month of living on the island.
Today we've rented a quad bike (ATV) to get around the island. We leave Chora (Naxos Town) and head to Agios Prokopios to spend some time on the beautiful beach and have some lunch at Kahlua, one of the only restaurants open this time of year, (it's the end of October).
Afterwards we head back into town to the Port to visit the Temple of Apollo where you have some of the best views of the town.
Later we head to an old abandoned restaurant on the water, just off Agios Georgios (the main beach in Chora) to catch the sunset and explore the abandoned building.

Greetings from Larisa, Thessaly, central Greece. Close to where I live there is a place called Metéora. Whenever you are in mainland Greece, it is worth visiting it. It's like it came from another planet. You can easily find a place to stay, restaurants, supermarkets and anything you need in the nearby towns of Kalabáka and Kastráki 😀

I have been living in Greece since 2019 December. Everyday is another beautiful day !!! Best thing I ever did. We are in Volos which is one of the most beautiful cities in Greece by their and our standards.
Slow living in Greece seems to be working out well. What’s not to love, it’s such an alluringly beautiful place to live 😍. Those drone shots are spectacular, by the way 🌅!

I stayed in Naxos in 1983 when David Bowie released China Girl (let's dance ) . The Discos played it NONSTOP night after night. Very good memories. Still in Norway but will go Gran Canaria 16.12 for 5 months

From our 1st visit to Greece in 2010 to now, we are hooked. Every so often we look online for homes to buy on the different islands - yep we're dreamers. That beach looked so nice, quite and relaxing. Could not agree with you more about the Greek salads. We love that they don't make them with lettuce as they do in Canada, and the tomatoes in Santorini in particular were so good. We definitely ordered it every day. Another great video Trevor & Anna!

Personal I prefer mountains and I love mountains in greece for winter places you can check Arachova, Karpenisi, Jumerka, Zagorochoria, Vichos canyon , Meteora. You should totaly climb mount Zas on a clear sunny day, you can even see Turkey and dozens of islands from its peak, best view ever!
How long does that climb take? Do you know? - Trevor
@@DelightfulTravellers it takes about 2-3 hours to get to the top. There's 2 routes, the easiest one is via Agia Marina, a small church near Filoti town. I never climbed before, so it's pretty accessible for inexperienced hikers, just don't wear flip flops :))

Greece is my favourite country, been to many islands and the mainland, planned a trip to Naxos as well, but it didn`t happen yet. Still I`ve visited Naxos port on board the ferry from Santorini to Paros back in 2021 :D

Hope you are still in Greece, it would be interesting to know about spending winter on the island (p.s.: the rocks and mountains on the Cyclades start blossoming in March until early May, it is SO beautiful!)
I was born in Athens, but have lived here in San Jose, California since I was three years old. I have been back to Greece a number of times, but typically during the summer. On one occasion we visited family there in October, which was very pleasant as the tourists were mostly absent, yet the weather was very pleasant and the sea was still relatively warm. We went around the mainland visiting Argos on the Peloponnesian peninsula and Delphi with is northwest of Athens. We also visited many of the Islands you have been to such as Crete, Rhodes, Mykonos, Santorini, Patmos. We even visited Ephesus in Turkey. If you get the chance and have the time, I recommend going to Lesvos. It is a large Island, the third biggest, and has many points of interest to explore including the third largest petrified forest in the world. The main port city of Mitilini is also very close to Turkey which may offer a nice excursion there as well.

Hi there! Love the video, I've been to Naxos so many times. Almost every other year and yes, I have seen the restaurant on the big rock open in the mid 2000's. A few years ago it was up for sale for something like 2 million euro. Not sure why it closed though... I'm new to the channel but have you visited Kalamitsia or have lunch at Platanos in Filoti? @@DelightfulTravellers Thessaloniki it would be even better for a long winter city stay. Volos is a good option too because it has many grate locations to visit all around it by the sea and on the mountain (Pelion peninsula is both winter and summer destination)

Hi! You 2 are awesome. Had to pause about the "abandoned hotel". It could be an inheritance thing. I was going through my mom's papers last year and found a bunch of documentation regarding a hotel that her and her siblings inherited n Greece. The Uncle it was inherited by died in 1971!!! My family, both sides are Greek. I am a first generation Greek American. I started digging into this hotel thing! I mean what middle aged women/empty nester wouldn't want to move to Greece run a hotel and sing "Mamma Mia!"? It is in the Peloponnese, Gytheio. (FYI everyone says the Peloponnese is the most authentic and beautiful area of Greece.) You should go there sometime. Anyway, my point, my Uncles property has sat there for decades! So, who knows how that all works,? But you are correct! That is an amazing location. I have been doing Greece Vlogs myself and can't wait to go back in Sept. I am taking my 24 year old son to Santorini, Naxos, Gytheio, and Athens! Great Channe!! You two are really "delightful." I have a true crime travel channel called "Left Undone", but working on getting my travel channel going! xo.

Hi both, love your channel. Would you recommend Santorini+Naxos or Rhodes+Symi for a honeymoon? I‘ve watched your videos on all of these places and am really torn as they all look amazing!
That's so hard to answer and would really come down to your budget. Santorini is over the top stunning. A must see place at least once. But it's so expensive and overcrowded. Naxos we luv. However, Symi is incredibly charming and Lindos on Rhodes is out of this world. If you want less people around and the cheaper route go with the Rhodes combo

Hello guys, what a nice video, I'm from Argentina and I loved your videos about life in Naxos. I went to Greece in 2018 for 15 days and I fell in love so I'm planning to go back and stay longer, but the longer I stay it means some days I will have to work (I'm a translator, so basically I can work from any place as long as there's wifi). I would like to ask you, If you can tell me so I can have an idea, approximately... how much money do you spend in a month? (I'm talking about grocieries in the supermarket and maybe eating some days in a restaurant) and another question... do you know If some places accept Paypal or If currency exchange places accept it?, thank you in advance and keep enjoying life in such beautiful place. We lived in a southern suburb (Nea Smyrni) for 8 years. We returned to America in late 2018. Living in Greece is amazing! Something that is not discussed, your income must come from your home country (own your own business, remote work, etc). Working for any employer in Greece makes it very hard to meet your monthly expenses and still be comfortable; salaries are very low. Not sure about Canadians but Americans can only stay for 3 months without a visa. Getting the proper paperwork from the government is unbelievably difficult, even knowing the language. I found that the cost of living is about the same as living in a small town in America in food, dining out, and rent, although, alcohol and gasoline are much more expensive in Greece. If you want to try to make it a go and live in Greece, please do. I just tell everyone that traveling as a tourist is completely different than living in Greece.
We have 3 months as well and we're maxing that out. Greece also now has a digital nomad visa which is interesting to us - Trevor

We're not really equipped to answer that one. The best we can say is the 2 countries have always had border / maritime issues for many decades. Hopefully they work it out - Trevor

It kills me that some people feel free to deface the property of others with graffiti. Our building in NYC has been hit twice this year. Such a lack of respect for others who work so hard to have and maintain their homes. Here's an idea!!! tag their own home and property!!! I try to look past it and see the beauty you show us. Still have a hard time seeing it as something other than a callous, selfish decline in living standards, mostly because it screams, "come and crap all over the side of the my home and I'm not even going to bother cleaning it up." But the sunsets! They are gorgeous, though!

What a question! Hmm.. I'd say Naxos has more of an 'annoying' wind if that makes sense. It's random and all over the place haha. Cabarete's wind is pretty much the same all the time. You get use to it and you don't even think about it really - Trevor

I am from Canada. I know this is a stupid question but what are the stray cats and dogs situation in Greece? I am asking since I am afraid of cats and dogs.
There's almost no stray dogs at all. Cats are everywhere but generally steer clear of humans for the most part. That said Greeks treat cats with so much respect. You'll be fine here for sure 👍 - Trevor
