Jen, I owe you a bouquet of flowers, a bottle of your favorite beverage, a cake, and a hug! Thank you for uploading to youtube. I'm a visual learner and this helped me so much. Best of luck to you as you complete your MSN. :) (Happy New Year, too!)
I cant thank you enough for sharing your video. I've watched it many times in order to help me to find my flow, as you clearly did. My hat off to you both, as it isn't an easy role playing the patient!!
This is SO incredibly helpful, I have been stressing over completing this video. Thank you so much for posting, and job well done!! Congratulations on your excellence award!
Thanks Jen! I have shared your video with my co-workers who are also going to WGU. I cant keep my husband from laughing and making funny faces! Your hubby was a great patient!
I just had to say what a wonderful job you did on this video. WGU should use it as an example! I watched it many times before doing my own. Anyone that thinks this is easy is kidding themselves. This lady does it like a pro. Kudos to the patient and accommodating husband as well. I passed!! :)
Thank you very much for sharing this! I feel much better about what I am needing to do! I will use my cell phone camera....saw in the other comments that using a cell phone camera is a better option than the WGU camera.
I just wanted to say thank you so much for being generous enough to post your video! By following your excellent example I was able to pass on my first submission with very little review. Thanks again!
@@StephanieBuckley I meant reviewing the course material. I believe in the instructions it says if you don't pass the video you have to submit a new one not just fix what you missed.
Jen, you did an excellent job as you are already aware by your grade and these great comments. I'm a veteran nurse of more than 30 plus years but I have been working in Quality and Patient Safety for the past 20 years. I haven't worked at the bedside for 20 years so going back to school for my Masters in Leadership I really wasn't expecting to need to do patient assessment again. Especially since we spend quite a bit of time on this in our BSN. Anyhow, it's people like you that get nurses like me through some of these classes. I'm comfortable in front of people, that's not the problem. I feel like if I see what's been "accepted" then I can move forward with confidence. Thanks for sharing your talent.
Wow! Thank you for sharing. It was so very well done! My favorite part was when you tucked the tag of his shirt inside. It was driving me nuts! #OCDmoment
Thank you for sharing your assessment! Please tell me you're going on for your masters in education! I've been a nurse for 17 years and you've certainly got what it takes. Awesome job. Your husband was a great patient, too! :-)
Thank you so much for sharing. It is so helpful to see an example for us visual learners! Wish I had found an example for the EBP paper. I struggled with that but did pass with one revision.
You did a really nice job Jen. I loved it when you tucked in your pt's shirt tag (in the back) I totally would do the same thing! LOL! I'm assuming you passed this task on your 1st attempt? Thanks.
I see that you stated you used your phone for the recording, is it an iPhone or Android? Thank you for posting this video. I have been watching yours and others. I will need to use a couch and chair, so I have been watching some of those submissions also.
Hi Jen, great job! I'm going to attempt my video this week and I really appreciate your video. I know you recorded this a while ago so the requirements may have changed but on my health assessment evaluation form, we are required to do ask some social determinant questions. Did you have to do any of those?
Andrea Wardle This assessment video was for the BSN program. I just finished the video for the MSN program and it is more in-depth and yes! I asked the SDOH questions.
Aahhh. That makes sense. You cover everything for the MSN pretty good in this one too! For your MSM video, Did you do anything different with your physical exam?
Video was great! You made it look easy. I hope I pass first time! Question~ in order to get the point does everything in that box have to be completed?
I wonder if they added some criteria for the assessments. I'm going to record mine tomorrow and I'm almost done with the video and haven't seen many of the items we have to cover. Anyways, thank you for an excellent video!
I was wondering the same thing as i was watching. Found out today that i failed my first attempt. I didn't see any social determinant questions or review of systems :-( back to filming i go!!!
Hi Jen! this is amazing! I do have a question, was this filmed with the WGU Camera? Mine seems to look so blurry when I try to film, and I wanted to know. Thank you so much!
Krista Mosley save a copy of the PADF on your computer then fill it out. You’ll turn this in to taskstream with your video. You are allowed to refer to it during your video, but not allowed to read from it. It is a list of each assessment you’ll need to cover.
Ghoul Princess I’m in the RN to MSN program now. I love it. It’ll take me about 18 months to complete the BSN coursework and another 18 months to complete the MSN. Others do it faster. Go for it!
Done the RN to BSN in 7 months and wife had our 3rd child during that time. I started June 1st 2018 on my MSN and have done 5 classes or 43% in 6 weeks.
Jill Ann Cool. Once you actually start it will give you a pie chart with how many CEUS you have to complete and how many you have done. The one I am referring to starts at 0%.
I passed with a perfect score!! and I modeled myself after you!!! :D Thanks!!
Teresa BARBER Congrats on your perfect score!!! 😃

a trick: watch series on flixzone. Been using them for watching a lot of movies during the lockdown.
@Kylen Nelson yea, been using flixzone for months myself =)
Thanks Jen! I have shared your video with my co-workers who are also going to WGU. I cant keep my husband from laughing and making funny faces! Your hubby was a great patient!
Your husband is a great sport for doing this video. Great job to both of you, you were very concise and organized!

Great job, Jen, and so helpful to see this actually done so we can see what they're looking for. Thanks so much! :)

Jen, what camera did you use here? They quality looks good. It CAN'T be the webcam provided by WGU!
L L no, I tried the webcam and it was awful. I used my phone camera then uploaded the file to Panopto.
I didn't know we could use a different camera?! Yassss, that is so helpful! Thank you!!
@@jenp1301 Are we required to submit sources if we did not use them (it's on the rubric)?
L L did not cite sources. Just filled out the assessment form thoroughly and submitted.
Did you use the WGU camera? I did a test video and it wasn't as clear as yours.
No, I used the camera on my phone then uploaded it to my computer.

Adriana Suarez, Hi there! I used my phone and uploaded it to the computer. Then downloaded it to Panapto from there. Hope that helps.
Are you reading what to assess off a piece of paper or is it straight from memory
