There are a few things which are very nice about this video (or the videos of them). They aren't in a rush (no timer), they don't *ahm* or *like* verbally, they talk calm and pleasant.
Was literally just dropping to sleep when that guy comes in at 5:10 ... Genuinely damn near had a heart attack and ripped my earphones out thinking someone had come into my bedroom.
@@Asphyxia612 I'm a medical student, and we do! They're not filmed as often, purely because they're actual patients. Also (on the topic of discovering stuff), we have about 300 people in each year. It's just accepted that when you first do cardio exams around 2 people will realise they have an undiagnosed heart murmur.
@@Asphyxia612 :So I have some bad news, during our exam we discovered you actually appear to be a stray dog who just wandered into the examination room. Stray dog: Woof?????
should be telling what to do if there is a problem, such as extremely low blood pressure, 4 weeks ago, I had blood poisoning, low blood pressure, 97/60/58 heart rate, usually 110/70/60, also could be alot of other serious symptoms, anafalaxis, or internal bleeding, etc there is more ..
1:19 you could've explained the process, heard the first thump at 112, and heard nothing after 70, and did close ups, but it is relaxing, also you should explain the process of diagnosis, and elimination, such as with a blood pressure of 112, 70, heart rate 70, this eliminates alot of unnecessary blood tests, etc,
Physical assessment doesnt include checking "down there"?? Where I am from its a part of a full assessment, not a "gynecological" exam but we do spread it apart and examine the outer parts as standard procedure.
Well most of those actions are more or less useless, but stethoscope examination of chest and abdomen area is one of the most important diagnostic procedures in medicine and, if provided properly, can reveal in time huge bunch of very serious health issues. Another very important part of general examination is patient interview, which is never part of these videos but, same as stethoscope examination, can be source of many and very important informations about patient health condition. And if you never absolve this examination, just run to your doctor and ask for it, its not joke, it can save your life or spare you of development of various health issues.

I’m going to stand behind you and say some words. Please repeat them… Longing. Rusted. Seventeen. Daybreak. Furnace. Nine. Benign. Homecoming. One. Freight car.
We're listening for the pitch of the tapping. A resonant, tympanic, low pitched sound indicates a normal hollow lung tissue. Abnormals would be hyperresonance with diseases like COPD where the lung has trouble expelling air or dullness which can indicate consolidation. The bigger "taps" with the closed fist is to test for costovertebral angle tenderness. Pain upon tapping will mean that the patient's kidney is inflamed.
@@ricol3977 That's a brilliant response. I feel bad that mine was basically going to be "if it sounds off, either you're not doing it right, or they might have a pneumothorax."
Same reason that they tap the stomach area: if someone has constipation or a stomach infection of some sort and it causes the stomach area to be bloated, it will give a distinct sound that might be a reason for further investigation into that area. It helps in diagnosing a problem in people who are able to speak, but especially in cases should someone be unable to but might obviously be suffering from something, it helps in diagnosing the possible problem of why someone is feeling ill.

Started watching these for the ASMR, now, almost an expert of medical examinations.
Same heree
Watch a season of MacGyver and you'll be able to perform a tracheotomy with a paperclip and and old potato
It's odd, now that I'm doing these exams as a student it's harder to get asmr- I notice mistakes😂
could i just say i watched these videos instead of going to medical school and get hired as a doctor
You know how to do them, but you likely don't understand the significance of the tests or their results' meaning.
I can't get enough of physical exam ASMRs. I'm like a drug addict scouring youtube,

Sam have you gone yet
Ace job from ASMR perspective. Wishing u best in your medical career
Makes you wonder if decades or even a century from now viewers watch this video and how would they think about the methods used.
They will probably use a tricorder.
Sometimes I wonder if these students ever discover anything heinous in these practice medical exams.
Myranda Hogg agreed! We never get a briefing afterwards🤣

Just to be safe, maybe? Might depend on whether it's free or not
General rule of thumb.
If you are suffering any persistent pain or discomfort for more than 3 days, you should go to the doctor
