  • This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. At TEDxDonauinsel, Andy not only told us about his attitude towards life, but also made clear that we all can achieve so much. He proved he truly believes in his motto: “Limits? Don’t exist - only in some people’s heads!”
At the age of six, Andy lost his left arm in a car accident. What seemed to be the end, turned out to be the beginning. He started swimming in rehab and hasn’t stopped since. For a few years now, the 21-year-old is one of Austria’s best disabled athletes. Most recent success: The silver medal in the World Championship of 2013. Besides being a hard-working, professional athlete, he is regularly present on TV, hosting the sports magazine “Ohne Grenzen” and presenting the “Licht ins Dunkel”-Charity on Christmas.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
