In Thai this is similar to if not the same as "Yang Sam Khum" - Three Golden or Three Hole Step. 🙏🏽
It’s the point where we have balance to step there

I've been following fight tips since the beginning of my combat sports journey so yeah I think my knees are pretty solid
I absolutely agree, discovered the chanel back then when he still had dreadlocks ;D
@@totenschreitrituals8874 the dreads bring back memories

💀 supergirls knees were literally the reason I o searched this video, her knees are acc crazy
No I don't. Every knee I land seems to be accidental 🤣
Yeah sometimes I try to teep but when they're to close I end up kneeing them.
I always thought and still think my knees are weak, one time I accidentally landed one on someone like out of muscle memory and they dropped instantly
I dont think so, i landed 3 knees in someone in what i think was the solar plexus and he fell afterwards
Shane is one of the knights who say "Knee!" LOL
Clear, concise, knowledgeable. Excellent stuff, thanks Shane!
Thanks bro! As always, in detail, professionally, practical. Cool. Take it and do it!
Mr Mean and Sky Piercing Knee literally were so good that nobody wanted to fight with them
Thanks for this Shane. Excellent drill and break down of the technique
This is an awesome unique tutorial. Thank you
You are a good instructor, keep up the good work.
Always offer great tips!
Thanku bro i love the 1,2,3,4 settup
Thanks. I am trying to improve my knee kick. It was really helpful.
Keep up the good work. Your tutorials are great 👍
Thanks man! I just recently started getting confident enough to try knee strikes on my local gym and this seems really helpful to do them safer than me just winging it haha

Just what I was waiting from this chanel!
What a great video. A very unique teaching ability 👏
Knees and elbows are brutal and i love them.
Also, in my opinion the best counter is a straight punch to the diafram and then keeping your hand straight for a moment so they knee can't reach.
Awesome! Mahalo for the corkscrew tip! Aloha.
Such a great lesson!
Helpful video mate constantly improving my knees is definitely on my list.
I am having issues with the range of motion and loosening the hips while kneeing.
Knowing I can get to far more extend but I lose stability and balance when I intend to do so.
I always wondering how much I want to rotate my back foot whilst lunging the knee to get more range but maintain stability at the same time.
Keep it up 🙏
Fight tips is awesome
Thank you MY friend, you're best.
Thanks!
This is gold.
Cleanest technique as usual! 👌

@@FightTlPS-Text lots of love bro❣️
Great stuff thanks
Flaring the foot out to the side helps to throw the Round Knee (skipping/hopping in, and rotating the hips through the target at the same time). The pivot over the plant foot/hip can be used to add a final snap with the anticipated impact, and, if the inner ball of the foot during that pivot is set strongly as the balance-point, can be used to leverage weight back towards center and recover posture. The flared foot is ready to escape by spinning through, if the knee is caught (but exposing your back is a very risky move. But so is not seeing the spinning back elbow coming! Sawadeekhap, everyone! ). It can also become the lever point for the "Great Wall" clinch spacing defense, clinching with both hands in any position, (full plum, head and bicep, etc.).
Supergirl's knee is basically the same movement through the torso and hips as the "Stiffarm" teep, but devastatingly sneaky!
Great video!

I’m 22 now, The first time I ever had to fight someone I was 15-16, it happened in secondary school. This guy had been bullying me for years and eventually he broke me and I just couldn’t hold it back anymore. My friend had told me that he had been saying stuff about me again so I went and found him. We started scraping straight away, he got some good ones in. Eventually I managed to get him close and knee him in the chest. It ended the fight immediately, the guy was gasping for air. I actually felt quite bad despite all the shit he did to provoke me 😶
I had damaged the cartilage in his chest apparently, I’m not really sure what that means tbh.
If he had been bullying you..I say job well done
good job bro. the sternum is made up of cartilage
It means you taught a bully his lesson. I love fighting, but I hate true violence. I make an exception for those who treat others that way. It's reaping what you sow, imo.
Nice!!!!!!!!!
you taught him a lesson he’d carry for the rest of his life, no need to feel bad. he fucked around and found out 😅
The 4 beat step is awesome...this is good content.
And yeah, I am the 1st to like this video
excellent.....
My knee strikes are terrible, this should help.
Very nice indeed. 👌
Yeah, Supergirl has some beautiful knee strikes, fr 🇹🇭 💥🙏
very interesting video
Dear Shane, would you make a video explaining the allowed and not alllowed in Muay Thai. Where can you hit? where you cannot? what's the boundary between those? Can you hold the leg? the arm? You are allowed to hold the neck, but why not the shoulders ? etc.
I'd like to know this in order to think out of the box without incurring on any fault.
Thanks.
Hey shane why don't to you compete in one championship?
Your tutorials are so good
I love knees, I started relying on these more than low kicks
I was literally just thinking about Supergirl's crazy knees right before you mentioned it. It might be because she's tall or something, but the way her knees/shins extend out almost makes it look like a wide spread jab that covers the opponent's whole lower torso (like a shotgun spread lol). Btw, I'm not sure if it exists but is there a measurement tool to calculates the force of a jab vs a knee? Do you think there's more damage given that the knee bone is chunkier than a hand?
You can deduce that knees are much stronger without any measurements. 1: yes it's a much more solid chunk of bone than your small scattered knuckles and 2: it's got the force of your whole hip and leg behind it
Those knees are much more powerful than a jab; go hold pads for someone doing both techniques, it's very obvious. It's all the of structure of the leg driving a much larger bone into your target. Think about how big the muscles in your butt, core and legs are compared to you upper body. It's not even close. Btw, she's only really making contact with the knee, the shin isn't doing much damage in that strike.
Yeah holy shit. I’m not particularly tall or long limbed, but yes, your knees will shatter someone if they’re landed properly (kind of a tall guy weapon, because of the range).
Covering more area is bad and not the goal of most strikes. The idea is to forcefully drive a smaller target with precision through with more force. Like a spear, or a bullet. Surface area affects overall impact. Like how spreading your arms in a backwards fall reduces damage by spreading the force over a larger area.
@@nathanbarnhart7823 literally i wish i was like 6 foot 4, I love knees so much

Dieselnoi advises against the raising of the knee first in his series with Sylvie.
Thanks 🙏🏼 Shane. Can’t wait to start practicing the whole routine. By the way, Shane I just wanted to know when I give the money for the video does it go to you or does it go to UA-cam? It should go to you just appreciate everything.
Hey Cliff, thank you so much for the Super Thanks. I'm really not sure how it works -- I'd imagine UA-cam takes a cut. I'd much rather suggest you sign up for MAGNVS, this way you're actually getting something of significant value in return 🙏 Your support is appreciated always!

This can be one deadly kicks if hit properly but you need lot of practice
Ok, I don’t want to fight you 😰
Im sure Supergirl has made a lot of us rethink our knees...
Is this your most preferred type of Knee? It seems a bit different than some other knee techniques I've seen from the likes of Yodkhunpon or Dieselnoi.
why do the foot and shin look like its facing outward leading with the foot to the side if this makes sense
From which part of the knee do we strike? Knee cap? Or upper shin.
Because whenever i practice knee strike it causes some amount of knee pain.
Please help :)
Try to hit with the hard part of the leg below the kneecap.
0:20, sitting on my bed eating fried rice as he tells me to get up n do it w him
Any reason for internal rotation ?
Knees to the body very effective way to end a fight. Fighters that come to mind when I think of knee strikes- Alistair Overeem and Anderson Silva
My knees are so bad it took me 5 hits directly into guy's liver to put him out of comission (It should have been one)
Where should the impact on the knee be? Top knee or low knee? I feel like my knee hurts when hitting, i don't think that supposed to happen what am i doing wrong?
Great stuff, Shane! ☺❤
Everything I throw is intended to break bones.

@@malkomalkavian Snake the pig maybe didn't watch my videos.😜😄❤
I mean, have you ever watched a baseball fight? Always shoving each other? No low kicks or liver shots. 😄
Shane do you feel like squared stance is bad for throwing knees cuz i feel that way.. Plus can you do moving side to side and punching in kickboxing/MMA cuz i always move perfectly in shadowboxing, moving side to side, steping over, shuffling but in sparring i always go backwards and flinch (1 amateur fight)
You're not drilling enough. If you don't fight the same as you train then you probably don't have a system to train efficiently and effectively. So I would recommend doing Orthodox and Southpaw, 2 rds each stance, 3 or 5 min, and just move in stance. Step by step. Forward, backwards, and side to side. Do atleast 1000 rounds and I don't think you'll have a problem anymore, aslong as you keep drilling tho 💯
@@ML-pd7ps I'm stance switching fighter, problem is that i think only my talent will give me results ( i know it wont but those are devils that i fight everydayl). As you said i'm probably not drilling enough
Sounds more like a fear/hesitance of getting hit than a technical problem, assuming you truly have movement down and the safety of shadow boxing hasn't given you a false sense of accomplishment in your technique. I have been there and sparring is truly the eye opener for all those learning with just technique/skill training. Grit and fearlessness is needed as well in real applications.
@@belikewater420 I think i overestimated my technique in shadow boxing because I truly am technical in shadow boxing, many said that but I’m sparring I wouldn’t say I’m scared it’s just that I’m hesitant and I always focus on what is my opponent doing
@@RickGrimes__ you may not consider it fear or are being truly fearful per se, but that hesitancy is likely you worrying about the possibility of eating a few strikes to work your game. Not to say you should charge in blindly, but it always takes me a few good bops to stop caring about what my opponent does and just focus on working. Like you said, worried about what the opponent is doing. You aren't there to worry about their plans, you are there to implement your own game plan. It's hard to overcome at first and I'm definitely working on that at this moment getting back after 4 years out of the arts. Maybe make it a session goal to slip forward, circle in, move forward with your defense and add offense as you get comfortable.
Bro Give some boxing 🥊 tips
This dude see him on street going other side for real 😀😀😀😀
My knees kill everytime they make contact with the heavy bag is this something you just gotta push through or is there something wrong w my knees? Cheers
Should i still flair my arms to bait my opponents if im facing a boxer?
Note to self also refer to time stamp 2:50
So this is for 'Muay Thai' only? or which other material arts that involves and uses knee strikes, too?!
It's kind of like TKD chambered kick, not as powerful as Dieselnoi's more fluid knees. No need to break it into two separate movements when it can be one motion.
But wouldn't mohawk position leave you exposed for face smashing? I think its easy to punish with straights and superman punch, since knees are so close range
Actually many years ago i kick the hand instead of the ribs. So the thing is i do a back kick and the weird thing is my back kick isn't that powerful
The knees are one of the hardest things in muay thai I swear
Agreed bro I’ve been training for 4 years now and it’s the one strike that I still can’t get down. This video helps but it’s slightly different to how my coach teaches it. I guess it’s all about repetition.
@@doron297 I've been training for 12 years and If I must choose the hardest to learn it's definitely gonna be the knee
@@jujiwastakenI'd toss it up between knee and lead leg kick. They both seem to suffer from odd mechanics and momentum.
