Have you been diagnosed by an ENT that specializes in voice (laryngologist)? If so there are medical interventions as this seems to be a neurological condition. In terms of voice exercises I would suggest (having never heard you!) that as much as possible keep the voice easily vibrating in a comfortable range and keep the vocal tract as relaxed as possible. Never push or strain to get a sound out. You may need to work with a medical specialist and speech pathologist. Hope you can find the best help.
@@Ronnisoprano Hi, thanks for reverting. Yes, I was diagnosed with it last year. I am from India, so my ENT recommended me to do Yoga, Pranayama, and Meditation (of throat chakra, specifically) just to alleviate the symptoms of this chronic neuro-vocal disorder. No botox, no surgery as such for me. I also took speech therapy last year for a month, was told to continue doing all those exercises (Like: lip trill, -NG pronounciation, humming, jaw-tongue exercises etc.). My SLP also said that "You dont need a cure, you need to heal yourself". So altogether Meditation, Pranayam, and Yoga is helping me handle that performance anxiety of sounding good, and the breathlessness that comes with . I am still recovering, but thankfully now i can communicate much better than last year. Sometimes i get 'bad voice days/hours' too, that is when i search UA-cam to see what else can i do to pace up my healing. Came across your video today, found it to be helpful. 🙂 Must say, you are right about relaxing vocal tract. Now i try to relax my tongue, since it is most flexible muscle and can easily be manoeurved easily with brain. So instead of focusing on the spasms, i focus on relaxing my back tongue region near and around uvula. This luckily works for me! 😊
@@bubblegum505 I am impressed with your holistic approach! I have a few other videos you might like. Developing good easy vibrations as well as tongue and jaw relaxation. Seems like you’re doing the best things to heal your voice problem!
It truly helps. Thanks a lot!
Wonderful!
What should be done for Spasmodic Dysphonia?
