We're keeping the important cars coming with this all-new 2018 Chevy Traverse review! It's a fully-loaded example, being the new High Country trim, and with a $53,000 sticker price do you think it's worth it? Let us know below, and as always, please LIKE, SUBSCRIBE and COMMENT below :)
Yep, this High Country definitely plays in the luxury car market, too. Not real sure why it's even more expensive than the GMC Acadia Denali we reviewed.
This vehicle has become so upscale! Those fit and finishes are absolutely amazing. The headlamps are like works of art, and the taillights are better than most luxury vehicles. This now jumps over the Denali Acadia for luxury. I'm extremely impressed with it!
Everything just look good and made sense. None of that fake gimmick feature that looks awkward and strangely misplaced. That 8" touchscreen is the sweet spot and those perfect icon size just made it that much easier to navigate, minus the navigation, which I think is the only zonk. It could've been implemented with a much more modern navigation map. I try to use the navigation and it was more of headache to use so I rarely use it as my Google map just does a much better job of finding places with ease.
I love my 2018 3LT Traverse AWD. It's everything I ever wanted and more in a midsize suv. There is nothing I find unappealing about this 2nd Gen Traverse. It just looks sleek and sporty overall. As for all of the features that came with it, it is laid out very nicely all within reach and in the proper ideal location. I just couldn't find this in any of the other competitors. My first pick was the 2018 acura mdx, but it just didn't have everything that I wanted, and the performance was rather disappointing for a luxury vechicle. The mdx bodystyle was not the kind that i find as appealing as this 2018 chevrolet Traverse. I like the luxury and confort the 2018 MDX has, but not enough for me to love and the cargo space rather on the small and cramp side. The price was way too high for a less than a perfect vehicle for me ( $39,778.) It just look awkward on the outside and the tech feature was very unappealing. Just when I was about to give up finding that perfect car for me I stop one last time at the chevrolet dealership and they had this used and fully certified 2018 AWD 3LT on the lot. One glance at it and then I look at the interior layout. It was like the Holy Grail I had been searching for in a midsize suv and at a very reasonable price that i can be happy with it at just $29,986.00 the mileage was still respectably low ( 53,540 miles.) This is one vehicle that I can say GM really did their homework to make this a one of a kind easy to service myself without the headache. And the cargo space was spot on the money ample of room for everyday hauling family and towing for that long trip and camping with. As for all of the other competitors, there's just too many zonk here and there that just didn't appeal to me as much as this 2nd Gen Traverse. As for the 2 other higher trim Traverse at a much much higher price tag. I really didn't find then as a needed or want features. Like the moonroof and wave your feet to open the tail gate. Those are features that i can live without as unneccessary. I just don't find any real value paying double the price at $53,000 for the higher trim model for features that I didn't really want nor needed. The 3LT trim was the better bang for the buck with all of the features that I really love to have on it. 26:12
I got to see it in person today at the LA AutoShow and it looks very nice and the trunk is now twice as big which for my family having a son with a wheelchair is a big plus! Beautiful interior and lots of leg and hip room. I'm very surprised on the improvement.
Nice review. Just an FYI, for someone like myself, the only thing I'm interested in is what it looks like with all the seats folded down. Especially for SUVs.
Great review. One correction though. The traverse did not grow by two inches. It was about .4 inches in length and 1/10th inch in width. Hoeever the wheel base increased by 2 inches.
I just love your reviews!! My favorite thing you do is compare features between trims. Keep up the good work!!!!! Also-GO BIG BLUE! (Fellow Kentuckian here 😉)
From certain angles the exterior design of this thing reminds me of the new GMC Acadia. Not a bad looking vehicle at all though; and I really like the interior colour of this one.
Thanks! We don't do night reviews regularly (since the dealerships typically close before it gets dark). It'll be something we will definitely look into for the future, though.
Great as always guys. The third row didn't look as cramped as others I've seen. What did you think of the headroom back there and for comparison sake may I ask about how tall is Mason?
Thanks! And to answer your question, the third row isn't nearly as bad as some others (like the Tahoe). Headroom wasn't a problem for Mason (he's 5 ft. 9 in.) and the 2nd row can slide forward to give the third row more legroom. Hope that helps!
I test drive one last week. I did not like how it drives at all. It goes left and right very very easily even without doing anything with steering and this was in city test drive less than 40 miles per an hour. Wondering how it will feels in the highway!!!
Thanks! And yes, the captain's chairs both slide and recline. I'm pretty sure it's the lever on the side of the seat (seen in the video at 20:22). Hope that helps!
Hi Megan. Yes, it is a bit more expensive than the Highlander and Pilot which top out at around $48k. It's a little bigger, so I guess that's why it's more expensive.
Hi Ivan. We filmed a 2018 Odyssey review about a month ago (ua-cam.com/video/bmXaPMsiuTE/v-deo.html), but it was the EX-L trim. We try to cover all the trim levels in each video... However, if our dealer gets an Elite we'll try to get a review specifically on that trim.
Adaptive cruise is only available on the high country. You can't even package it in on a Premier or lower trim. Competitors like the Pilot offer ACC on EX and above trims. Even the highest level Pilot stickers at almost 6k less than the high country. I think they missed the mark on the option packages.
They can definitely be distracting... We normally try to redo the clip if one drives by, but we were on a time crunch since a customer had already bought this Traverse.
Car Confections I remember sirens during your latest Volvo XC90 review and perhaps another one as well. Kind of funny, that's all. This 2018 High Country Traverse is miles ahead of the outgoing model.
Nice vehicle; too bad standard safety features on the $31k Toyota Highlander will cost you nearly $53k on the Chevrolet Traverse!!! WTF GM!!! SAFETY SHOULD NOT BE OPTIONAL!!!
Can't u guys come up with your own designs? Always copying Ford. Looks exactly like the Ford explore. Just longer nose. Wish Ford would sue the fuck out of chevey. Sick of all Chevys lies and played actors and actresses.
Thank you for the detailed information! Was looking for exactly this, a video that would explain all the differences between the trim models.
You're very welcome! Glad we could help out :)

Car Confections, this is definitely a huge improvement over the old model! Superb review!
Absolutely the most in depth review I have seen. Explains so much. Great work!! Thank you
+brixtonwa Thanks so much! Glad it was helpful!
I really love this used 2018 Chevy Traverse.
Terrific job with your content as always bro.

A very well done review. I really enjoyed seeing this 2018 Traverse with all of its features. Thanks!
Thank you, David! Glad you liked it :)
well this is like 100 times better than the Tahoe.... not to mention it costs $20 grand less than that bling machine. such a better car
Yes, car.
Tahoe is a truck.
William Humphrey yeah I think I like this better for the price to me the only big difference is a v8
Great review. One correction though. The traverse did not grow by two inches. It was about .4 inches in length and 1/10th inch in width. Hoeever the wheel base increased by 2 inches.
fantastic overview of the trims
I just love your reviews!! My favorite thing you do is compare features between trims. Keep up the good work!!!!!

Thanks fellow wildcat! Always happy to hear from local people!
From certain angles the exterior design of this thing reminds me of the new GMC Acadia. Not a bad looking vehicle at all though; and I really like the interior colour of this one.
Well the Acadia is newly redesigned for 2017. It's slightly smaller than the older model and smaller than the 2018 traverse
this is a classy looking crossover.
Awesome video! Do you ever do night ones to show the lighting including ambient? I'd like to see one on this vehicle. Thank you
Thanks! We don't do night reviews regularly (since the dealerships typically close before it gets dark). It'll be something we will definitely look into for the future, though.
I just love the high country...
Vel Boone I’m getting one this summer

Great review I like the way you take your time to explain , you aren’t on a such a hurry like many others .

One of the best reviews, does the second row seating captain's chairs recline?
Thanks! And yes, the captain's chairs both slide and recline. I'm pretty sure it's the lever on the side of the seat (seen in the video at 20:22). Hope that helps!
What does it look like at night, especially the inside????

Great presentation. Thanks
Thanks! Glad you liked it :)
Can you do a comparrison with this traverse and the outgoing traverse?
Good reviews.
Thanks!
looks like a pretty competitive truck... am I mistaking or is this more edpensive than the Highlander/Pilot?
Hi Megan. Yes, it is a bit more expensive than the Highlander and Pilot which top out at around $48k. It's a little bigger, so I guess that's why it's more expensive.

Again with the sirens... (at the 09:15 videomark)?

Is it just me, or is anyone else curious to see what this dude looks like? I love these reviews
mike racicot you can see what he looks like in his driving videos.
Nice car
Quá đẹp. Very good
It's so luxurious, why even buy a GMC for the price and luxuriousness of this.
It's more like a Tahoe now!
ROY PARK yes, it does. I like it
3rd row is actually slightly bigger than the Tahoe (4 inches according to the salesman).

Awesome
No big screen?
Joseph Lopez that is a big screen for the class.
Nice vehicle; too bad standard safety features on the $31k Toyota Highlander will cost you nearly $53k on the Chevrolet Traverse!!! WTF GM!!! SAFETY SHOULD NOT BE OPTIONAL!!!

Why would they make this as big as a Tahoe? Unless they have plans to get rid of the Tahoe and just keep the Suburban
B. F. It supposed to be a bit different in a different class. This is a midsize 3 row SUV. The Tahoe is a truck based SUV.
two rising i bay chevrolet traverse as paw when i need as room when i need one rising to no bay is g. m. financial services is blood shocker
looks like a jeep Grand-Cherokee from the rear. OIIIIIO
