Good morning from Piqua Ohio. Hey boss I finally got my log splitter repowered. With a new motor and hydraulic pump 5 gallon hydraulic reservoir. Had to retire the old Wisconsin chain driven hydraulic pump 1 gallon hydraulic tank. The log splitter runs so much better now.
Yeah it does indeed get hot, but not too hot. I have been using full synthetic oil in it. I think it does help with higher temperature. Also you may try blowing all of your cooling fins. Best of luck to you and thanks for watching.
I find that i can split faster with the single wedge. These 4-way wedges seem to splinter alot more wood in the process. All those splinters clog up the beam so much faster.
Your detent needs adjusted its not releasing on the back stroke. Its easy to adjust. Its on the spool the black round part in-between the 2 hoses on the end of it there is a jam nut with a Allen coming through it back it off just a little bit
Hello Joseph, great question. It will run at full throttle for about 3 hours. And I can do a full cord in that time, depending on the wood. If the wood is the perfect size and no nots. If my son is helping me we can get even more split. I hope this answers your question. Have a great night.
@@josephgrant9137 Yes I would buy it again. But I would also say, buy the best one you can afford. I would also say it is probably the best big box store splitter out there. Have a good one Joseph.
If you knew how to use the single wedge efficiently youd see that there's not a huge difference...it took me 2 seasons to realize that going all the way through is a waste.... But rather a series of 2 inch penetrations then the whole round starts falling and tearing apart
You are right a point. If your in stringy wood you need to go all the way to the end of the stroke. I find for me and my wood production a 4 way is the way to go. But like in many things in life you may find the single is best for you. Thanks for watching Ken.

Have you had any issue with this spitter’s hydraulic system overheating?
