A few hidden gems of the 80's in my collection: Wanted Dead Or Alive, The Last Starfighter, Night of the Creeps, The Monster Squad, Running Scared, To Be Or Not To Be, Clue and Hanky Panky
Yes! They’re all great 80s gems. And what I love is you covered most genres, such as comedy, sci-fi, and horror. I caught myself quoting Born In East LA out loud at work just the other day.
The Paul Rodriguez scenes in “Born in East L. A.” Are the best. To this day, when some asks for a “Tall Boy”, I always raise it up like he did to the Jesus picture and do his walk. “Un Tall boy”!
I've seen all of these except for Shoot to Kill. Gonna watch it very soon. Appreciate your videos! Fun stuff and great commentary. You have a *boss* 80s movie collection, dude 😮
Thanks for the supportive feedback bro - much appreciated! I definitely love collection my 80s and 90s movies and I highly recommend Shoot to Kill, it's a quality hidden gem for sure!
I would include: Just One of the Guys, Clue, After Hours, They Live, Near Dark, Adventures in Babysitting, Better off Dead, Into the Night, Rivers Edge, The Wraith, License to Drive, The Legend of Billie Jean, My Bodyguard and White Water Summer
Dirt Bike Kid, I watched this movie so much, I broke 2 tapes. The soundtrack for a little B movie was also really good, its a shame they never released it.
Dude same here, not sure where I got this movie as a kid but I wore the tape out and would go out and talk to my bicycle when none of my friends were around to play haha.
Love this video almost all those movies are totally worth watching only ones. I haven’t seen our FX shoot to kill and run away, but I’m definitely gonna check them out now and also just have to say I recently watched real men for the first time and man did I enjoy it I was laughing so much watching it
Thanks for the feedback Votta, it was fun to make, I'll definitely be turning this into a series and more than likely will do a 90s one as well. Thanks for watching!
Dude! Every single one of these movies are my personal favorites (except the dirt bike one- I’ve never seen it). But man, you touched on some heavy nostalgia for me. I am going to rewatch FX and The Hidden today because of this video. And hahaha at the memory of Sidney Portier and the bear!
The Hidden was a favorite of mine and my buddies. We wore out the VHS tape. The dark humor had us in stitches and then there was the awesome soundtrack. "I like your car. Give me the keys."
Totally! We all watched it a ton too, a great blend of dark humor, action, sci-fi, and spectacle all rolled into one. Another movie I always liked was I Come in Peace! A drug dealing alien who kills with cd's...amazing!
@@seanpratt4843 I can see that! It's used repeatedly in the movie and ties in perfectly with the title! haha. I can't believe they used Dark Angel as the international title! Terrible choice!

I can't call these forgotten movies cause I grew up in the 80's and watched all these they are still fun to watch today great vid for younger people to look these up
Here's a forgotten gem from the 80s: Dolls (1987), it's a horror film about a bunch of dolls that come to life and kill people who are wrong-doers, it was made by the same people who did Re-Animator and From Beyond but this film is VERY unlike those films, it manages to be creepy and gory but have a kinda wholesomeness to it in a dark twisted way
Great pick Dolls is one those movies I've seen the cover to so many times over the years and never actually watched. I'll definitely put on my watch list.
I love that one! I remember seeing the cover in the horror section of the video store as a kid. I even remember the tag line: "They walk. They talk. They kill."
my neighbors in the 80s owned a local movie store and my mother worked for them. we got to see lots of movies but one of their kids favorites was the dirtbike kid. it has been forever since i seen but such fond memories.
Dude, The Hidden is one of my all time favorites! We used to watch that movie like once a month on VHS. It’s so fun with the car chase scenes and the alien acting all weird inside the humans.
The Hidden, F/X, Deep Star Six, Real Men, Disorderlies, and Runaway are going on my ever growing to-watch list. I love Shoot To Kill (or Deadly Pursuit as it's known here in England). I first saw it randomly, i was just channel-hopping when i was 11 or 12, so early 90s it might have been it's UK premiere. It was just about to start, i watched in my bedroom and really enjoyed it. I made a point to buy it later.

Was a kid of the 80's and only remember or knew of 3 of those: Harry Crumb (classic John Candy), East L.A. (saw it at the cinema plus had the 7 inch LP single of its title song!), and F/X (with Bryan Brown being a local here it used to air on TV once a year).
Thanks for watching! I think this series will be a good place to find hidden gems, and I also did a Top-100 80s Movies Series you can find on my channel as well if interested!
Perhaps not a deep sleeper on this side of the Atlantic, but 'The Company of Wolves' absolutely holds up....the blending of a seemingly relatively innocent fantasy Red Riding Hood allegory with then profound elements of terror and haunting imagery and music, perfect for giving the young ones nightmares. Good times to grow up. The director, Neil Jordan went onto make the Crying Game, Interview with a Vampire, if that says anything.
Thanks for the rec - for some reason that name isn't registering to me but the premise sounds interesting and it coming out of the 80s is even better! I'll have to check it out!
I need to get that one on the watch list. Its one of those movies I've seen as a patchwork, pieces here and there over the years and not in order. I just watched Mr. Baseball and Runaway so I might as well keep the Selleck train rolling!
Great picks I have Thrashin in Vol 3, love it! Wraith is coming too, I need to look into Witchboard its not ringing a bell. Thanks for watching much appreciated! 🤙🏻
It's a little retro loop I pulled from one of the sites I used for graphics and transitions. It does has a familiar ring to it but I haven't been able to place it.
I really enjoyed The Hidden and Harry Crumb. Thank you for the reminder. I'll have to watch both again soon. I'm curious to see if they hold up. Doin' Time is a zany Airplane-like comedy set in a prison. And Lunch Wagon is more than just a teen sex comedy. I recommend both if you haven't already seen them.
The Hidden and Shoot to Kill are the only ones I don't remember. Watched "Who's Harry Crumb" many, many times. Same with "Runaway". Thought those little spider bots were cool.
Shoot to Kill is a movie that's long overdue for a Blu-Ray or special edition release. (hint hint Shout factory or Kino Lorber) Some of my favorite forgotten flicks are: Code of Silence (1985) Dead Bang (1989) Dead Heat (1988) Dragnet (1987)
A Shoot to Kill Shout! release would be awesome! Love these picks, I think Dragnet may be on Netflix. I haven't seen that one in years so it's due for a refresher for sure dude!
DC Cab, Running Scared, Three O'Clock High, Overboard, Get Harry, Teachers, D.A.R.Y.L., The Three Amigos, The Principal, Young Doctors In Love, Strange Brew, Mother's Day, Hell Night, Some Kind of Hero, Brewster's Millions, and Pirates.
Strong, strong picks! I have a few of these on my list already for sure and you have a few I forgot about myself - Hell Night, Some Kind of Hero, Young Docs in Love - definitely forgotten gems there!
Three o’ Clock High, Night of the Comet, VisionQuest, Youngblood, Near Dark, Life Force, Beastmaster, Return of the Living Dead, Mega Force, Red Scorpion, The Punisher.
I love Disorderlees perfect 80s film the jokes mostly hit the silly plot works and the heros win the day in the end everyones happy and the whole family can watch it together
Just watched who's Harry Crumb? 2 days ago. Not seen nor heard of the majority of these. Born in east LA, disorderlies, and runaway being the only other movies I've seen or own.
Always love for Who's Harry Crumb, Candy's a legend! UHF is a huge throwback I remember being so stoked to see this movie in the theaters with my friends haha. Thanks for watching.
Crossroads, Teachers, Cocoon, Letter to Brezhnev, Local Hero, Gregory' s Girl ( with the original voices, not the dubbed version), A Room With A View, Jagged Edge, War Games, White Nights, 84 Charing Cross Road, The Accused, Suspect, Dangerous Liaisons, Romancing the Stone, We didn't have a cinema, so it depended on what me or Mum, older sister and mates could get in the video shop or was on tv. I had a teenage crush on lovely Ralph Macchio, my sisters liked costume dramas and Mum was into thrillers and good dancing😂. I' m Scottish so I don't know if the UK ones were big in the US
That's a nice blend of taste in film so you all had a nice variety of movies to watch growing up. I was a huge Macchio fan as well. Crossroads is super underrated and I love these other picks as well.
Who's Harry crumb is very underrated. I loved that movie growing up. Disorderlies is a good time also. Just dumb fun to smile with. I remember watching runaway. But I don't remember much about it. I thought the idea of it was cool.
Quick and silly movies like Harry Crumb and Disorderlies are just what you need sometimes. Runaway is a solid little action thriller, its on Tubi for free at the moment. The plot would actually make for a solid action movie now days with better technology and A.I. Thanks for watching!
I think this might make a Good Little Series, and once when you're done with this Series I think you could Probably Start on a Series for Forgotten Movies of the 90's.
I had a great time making this video, I was already thinking of a 90s series of the same topic, just wanted sure if I would do a collection of 80s volumes first or maybe alternate 80s and 90s with each one.

Classic 80s comedy for sure!
What is the song u play between each clip? I feel like i know it from a comedy, playing over and over. Is it from Fletch?
It's a little retro loop I pulled from one of the sites I used for graphics and transitions. It does has a familiar ring to it but I haven't been able to place it.
I really enjoyed The Hidden and Harry Crumb. Thank you for the reminder. I'll have to watch both again soon. I'm curious to see if they hold up. Doin' Time is a zany Airplane-like comedy set in a prison. And Lunch Wagon is more than just a teen sex comedy. I recommend both if you haven't already seen them.
I'll have to check those out. Im not remembering either Doin Time or Lunch Wagon, I'll have to get them on the watchlist!
I love the transition music….. fun fact, Shoot to kill was called Deadly Pursuit in South Africa
Thanks for watching Lindsay! Yeah I think the US was the only country it went as Shoot to Kill, or one of the few.
The Hidden and Shoot to Kill are the only ones I don't remember. Watched "Who's Harry Crumb" many, many times. Same with "Runaway". Thought those little spider bots were cool.
The robots in Runaway were well done for the time. I highly recommend Shoot to Kill and The Hidden. Both are quality movies.
Shoot to kill great movie which I haven't watched in years. I will look for it.
I have an old Shoot to Kill DVD I've been hanging on to. Hopefully you can track it down.
I have a suggestion for you that is seldom talked about. Take a watch if you haven't seen it yet...you will love it
Moon 44
Thanks for the suggestion I haven't seen Moon 44 I'll have to check it out!
And the boots to match!
Harry Crumb rules
It really does, Harry Crumb is just one of those movies that can always put me in a good mood on a gloomy day!
I've watched Whos is Harry Crumb one time in my life, and i laughed so much, John Candy was hilarious.
John Candy was such a brilliant comedian. Thanks for watching! 👍🏻
As a child dirt bike kid was my favorite.
Same here we'd watching this movie then go ride our bikes. Great times.
I’ve never even heard of Real Men, that’s a deep cut man.
Its a product of its time but if you're a Ritter/Belushi fan, it will entertain. I hope you have a great holiday!
Born in East L.A. also features an early appearance from Jason Scott Lee.
That's a cool fun fact I didnt know that.
Blind Fury, Conan The Barbarian, Trick or Treat, Great Outdoors Escape from New York, Mannequin, Twins just to name a few!!
Awesome picks, I just watched some of Blind Fury a couple weeks back. Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
@@MoviesNeverSayDie Thanks I love 80’s movies, I watch your channel all the time 🤘🤘
I really appreciate that Metal!
Just watched Runaway yesterday
🤙
Shoot to Kill is a movie that's long overdue for a Blu-Ray or special edition release. (hint hint Shout factory or Kino Lorber)
Some of my favorite forgotten flicks are:
Code of Silence (1985)
Dead Bang (1989)
Dead Heat (1988)
Dragnet (1987)
BRUH THAT A&P SWEATER!👀🍁
Thanks dude! It's a cherished part of my wardrobe, even though it's thick as shit and I live in SoCal where its always hot!
The a&p symbol on your sweater was a cheap brand in a german supermarket chain called kaiser's tengelmann. Strange to see that here
It was actually a large chain here in the states focused out of the East Coast for a few decades. All closed up now though.
A&P= Attraktiv & Preiswert= appealing & cheap
Three o’ Clock High, Night of the Comet, VisionQuest, Youngblood, Near Dark, Life Force, Beastmaster, Return of the Living Dead, Mega Force, Red Scorpion, The Punisher.
Awesome picks, Youngbloods was one I watched a ton of time growing up, same with Red Scorpion and Night of the Comet!
I love Disorderlees perfect 80s film the jokes mostly hit the silly plot works and the heros win the day in the end everyones happy and the whole family can watch it together
It is a great time, they're likability just makes the movie work! Always a great watch!
Born in East LA and real men both movies are already out on Blu-ray
Shout Factory's Born in East LA is a solid package.
Just watched who's Harry Crumb? 2 days ago. Not seen nor heard of the majority of these. Born in east LA, disorderlies, and runaway being the only other movies I've seen or own.
Hope you like Harry Crumb! It's a silly comedy for sure!
3:46 "Hector Salamanca" way before Breaking Bad and BCS?
Oh shit! That's a great eye! I didn't even notice that as him!
I love how the gun on the poster of Shoot To Kill is empty. Kinda hard to shoot to kill with an empty gun…
😂
Harry Crumb is a great choice. The Vidiot from UHF also has its moments.
My #1 forgotten 80's movie is Ruthless People.
Great film for sure! Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
@@MoviesNeverSayDie What do you mean be ‘Alternate’?
Like one video covering 80s, then another covering 90s, the back to 80s and so on.
