I love The Chase. Too bad it’s not on Bluray. Look at you showcasing two Kristy Swanson movies in a row. I LOVE Deep Rising. I saw it in the theater and was one of three people there. I’ve always liked it.
Gotta love 90s Swanson! She popped up in a few movies when making this series. It's a drag The Chase is so limited on home media. Out of print on DVD, no blu-ray, no rental or streaming options.
I think this could be easily Rappaports best performance. I don't remember him taking many serious roles after this but that's just off the top of my head.
@MoviesNeverSayDie yeah I tend to agree. He was good in Copland, but besides Higher Learning I don't think he really had the chance at playing a lot of leads.
Hey Ant, Another great selection (Ski school), Hamburger, Hotdog, are one of many movies of a National Lampoon style comedy, I was surprise about "Higher Learning" on your list just watched it about a month ago. "The Chase" is one of Sean's good acting chops. On another note not to be funny (cool T-shirt), I see you like unique T's I have a couple Japanese T' shirts I could send to you if you you want them. Again thanks bro! for the list of interesting forgotten movie gems.
Glad you enjoyed the list! I will always have a soft spot for the National Lampoon style comedies. When you're having a bad day nothing is better than a Hot Dog, Ski School, Up the Creek, Ski Patrol etc. Love the silliness they deliver. Higher Learning is a strong movie for sure, I usually watch it every few years. I would love a shirt that's super nice of you. I do have a PO box I can send over if you want to mail something over but totally no pressure at all I know shipping charges are not cheap these days! But I would be humbled to receive and definitely wear in future videos!
A movie no one ever talks about is "The Commitments". 1991 movie with some great dialog (funny dialog) and great music. It's the forgotten Alan Parker movie.
@@MoviesNeverSayDie Cool, your welcome. I will watch The Chase again ASAP as i haven't seen it in probably 20 years. I re-watched more old movies than ever the last years as there is so many bad new movies.
Don’t tell mom the babysitters dead, the quick and the dead, breakdown, turbulence, event horizon, man’s best friend, angus so many forgotten Gems from a superb decade
King Of New York is brilliant. Yet another villain called Frank. State Of Grace from the same year was another amazing underworld thriller with a mob boss also called Frank.
@@TheVidkid67 I love the scene when they were up on a roof swan penn and Gary old man just talking and drinking and he takes out a dead guys hand that he keeps frozen and keeps trying to touch Sean penns character "terry" with it and freaking him out..lots of amazing talent in that movie..ed Harris was great too
Loved this first ep for the ‘90s, the credits were amazing! Some suggestions I had were Judgment Night, Drop Zone, Brokedown Palace, Mr Wrong and Trespass.
Same here it's always been a favorite of mine I still have my original DVD copy. Its weathered to say the least but still plays and its hard to track this movie down these days.
Darlene Vogel of Ski School was also in Back to the Future II. She played one of the hoverboard gang. I worked with her, a few years back, on a trilogy of Lifetime movies. She's still stunning, and an incredibly nice human being.
Guarding Tess 1994. The first two acts of the film are what the poster would lead you to expect, but the third act makes up for all of it and made Nicholas Cage one of my favorite actors at the time.
It's a fun one, I learned more on skate and surf films from the 80s and never really gave Airborne a shot until a handful of years after its release and I loved it.
Deep Rising! One of my guiltiest pleasures. While hardly the definition of fine cinema, it's such a great time and good fun. I actually watched this one in the theater when it came out, and I have been known to put the DVD into the player once in a while. It's just enjoyable. I actually saw Celtic Pride in the theater, too. I had nothing better to do that weekend. Anyway, go watch Deep Rising!
I'll throw these in there, Run! 1991 with Patrick Dempsey, kinda of chase thriller and Mobsters also from 91 with Dempsey as well. House guest from 1995 With Sinbad and Phil Hartman funny movie
Love these picks - recently watched Run from start to finish for the first time and loved it. Great mention for Mobsters as well, solid gangster flick and House Guest was a blast too!
Forgotten 90's movies in no particular order whether it's the big budget or simply straight to video release. - A long kiss good night - Broken Arrow - Zero Tolerance - Drive - Angel Fist - Virtual Combat - Tiger Claws - National Lampoon's: Loaded Weapon 1 - Blank Check - Shoot Fighter 1 and 2 - Sidekicks - Knock Off - Street Knight - Boiling Point - Dead President
Single White Female is readily available on streaming services, DVDs and Blu-Rays. So i wouldn't consider it 'lost'. Lost is when a movie is unavailable in any format, and is totally impossible to locate and is usually locked up in a vault somewhere and hasn't been released to home media, or has completely disappeared or been destroyed by time.
187 is one of those films you remember. It leaves an impression. Sam Jackson is probably at his best here but it also has one of the most disturbing villains in Benny. That dude is scary as hell how he just kills people so effortlessly. I always remembered Benny. He scared the crap out of me.
I remember these movies, how cool is that. I liked "Ski School" didn't really like "Single White Female". I didn't know Jack Black went that far back in cinema [1992]
I didn't know JB went back that far either, but he has popped up in more than a few of the films that will be in this series that I forgot he was in all together.
Have you mentioned the movie Gone Fishing yet? It's with Joe Pesci and Danny Glover. I lived behind a movie theater in Rhode Island throughout the 90s, and I always had a friend working there. Got to see every movie that came out in theaters in that decade.
Deep Rising is a well made die hard style creature feature movie on a Cruise Ship except with a giant octopus which has the disappointment of setting up a sequel with an intentional cliffhanger ending. Because it was finically unsuccessful at the box office is why the sequel hasn’t been made, and I have no desire for a Streaming sequel or it’s released on Netflix sequel.
Jason Scott Lee films apart from Dragon:the Bruce Lee story are largely forgotten. Rapa Nui, and Map of the Human Heart, to name two. Let's not forget the Lawnmower Man, the hype, because it used VR CGI.
Celtic Pride is a very entertaining Celtics themed fans that go way too far so it’s a dark comedy although not depressing or challenging to watch. I recall seeing it with my family in a movie that doesn’t exist because only 9 theaters couldn’t compete with movie theaters that have more than 9 theaters.
Victor Argo had a small part in 1986's Raw Deal as one of the main mafia family's hitmen. He was in the beginning of the film when the safe house cabin is attacked. One of the thugs who arrive at the train station and visit the safe house in the station wagon. Didn't much or any dialogue. Extremely little, if any. He also appeared in one or two season 5 episodes of Miami Vice.
I noticed that too - also noticed Frank from Everybody Loves Raymond plays one of the henchmen. It's always weird seeing people you know from sitcoms back in movies earlier in the careers.
@MoviesNeverSayDie Ya bro, your video reminded me of that movie. Virtuosity, Dark City and Lawnmower Man also came to mind. But there are some people that wouldn't consider those forgotten. Anyways, I just bought Popcorn on DVD. Couldn't find available on any streaming services. Worth the purchase
Yeah it's always tough to find movies truly forgotten by everyone but it's all for fun - I love those movie. I was watching some of Lawnmower last week on Tubi when getting some work done and I kept catching myself watching and not working haha.
Here's just a few of my recommendations from the 1990s: *Comedies* Clean Slate Little Big League Living In Peril Memoirs of an Invisible Man Noises Off Short Time The Wrong Guy *Dramas* Breakdown Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story Flatliners Pirates of Silicon Valley The Colony - A TV movie, but a good one Falling Down - Arguably the greatest movie of the 1990s, though I wouldn't exactly consider it as "lost" Jade - This movie is just average, but it's worth watching for what I think is possibly the best car chase scene of any movie The Jacksons: An American Dream - This was originally a miniseries, so I don't know if it counts as a "movie"
Who’s the Man? (1993) - Directed by Ted Demme (the king of forgotten 90s gems The Ref, Life, Beautiful Girls). It stars just about every rapper from the era. Denis Leary is great as a police captain. It’s very fun and I don’t know anyone who has ever heard of it.
Try find a movie called "Thursday"..thomas jane and Aaron eckheart..i believe its from 1996...you will not be disappointed..charlie sheen had another cool one from 97 with linda Hamilton called "shadow conspiracy" and nobody ever mentions that one... Crying Freeman. Dark City. Hard Rain. Johnny mnemonic. Toy soldiers. Soldier. These are definitely 90s movies worth checking out.
Love these mentions, I'll definitely check out Thursday, it's been mentioned a few times and I haven't seen it. I agree, Shadow Conspiracy it a entertaining movie.
I was thinking King of NY and bingo right at number 1. Single White Female is another one. Ricochet and Deep Cover really come to mind. Point of No Return I must have the hots for Bridget Fonda because I tend to like all her movies. It Could Happen to You is great. Heat was another film that felt so real with great performances kind of like Bullet with Steve Mcqueen especially the airport runway ending. The Iron Giant comes to mind as well.
Great here are some more Fathers Day, Groundhog Day, Getting Even With Dad. The Stupids, Tank Girl, Brenda Star 1989 but released in 1991, The Hardway, Hangin With The Homeboys, Pump Up The Volume, Awakenings, Outbreak, Species, Made In America, Newsies, Blankcheck, Free Willy, Hook, Homeword Bound, the Mighty Ducks, Hocus Pocus, Baby's Day Out, The Evening Star, Delores Claiborne, The Fugitive, Primal Fear, The Usual Suspects, Malice, The People Vs. Larry Flynt, Dazed And Confused, Can't Hardly Wait, Tommy Boy, Office Space, Tale's From The Darkside The Movie, Tales From The Crypt Demon Knight, Cronos, Village Of The Damned, Stephen King's Sleepwalkers, IT, 30 Days Of Night, Ravenous, Skinner, Army Of Darkness, The Good Son, Tales From The Hood, The Faculty, Bicentenial Man, Poetic Justice, Leaving Los Vegas, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Devils Advacate, What About Bob? Empire Records, Truth Or Dare, Sphere, Outbreak, A Little Princess, Lost In Yonkers, The Page Master, The Prince Of Egypt, Frankie & Johnny.
Outside Providence - I need to watch again. I seen recent retrospect’s parading the film and blamed the poor advertising for the movie. It was produced by the Farrell brothers - who were coming off (dumb and dumber, kingpin, and there’s something about Mary) but it’s not there usual gross out offensive comedy - but rather a dramedy.
Yeah I think the trailers could've possibly shifted expectations for this being something other than it was. But I think it holds up better over time bc of the blend of drama and humor.
x On a side note (relating to the movies on this video and a previous video): o Kristy Swanson is a fantastic actress who I think has not picked the right roles for her strengths (she was fantastic on Buffy The Vampire Slayer). o Jennifer Connelly is a fantastic actress who would be more familiar to the public if she participated in more public things outside her movie roles. o Cyndi Lauper does not play up to her strengths for the bridge between music and movies.
For all the people complaining these movies aren’t lost,to someone born after 2000 I think the list would probably be great . For me it’s great nostalgically.
Not a 90's thriller but still a fun and interesting one is Heist. It's from 2001 and stars Gene Hackman and Danny Devito and Sam Rockwell. Have you seen it?
Love all of these picks. Money Train is a guilty pleasure fave of mine. I could sit down for any of your picks right now. Been ages since I watched Vampires!

Same with Deep Rising! I saw it in the theater and have watched it at least a dozen times since - absolutely love that movie
Higher learning is not only one of my favourite, but my favourite John Singleton film. And such a heartbreaking performance by Michael Rapaport.
Incredible movie..angel heart is amazing too but I reckon his best is "Mississippi Burning".
I remember that movie. It was a big hit and so was the soundtrack.
Great film for sure. It definitely needs a rewatch for me.
Among these Deep Rising, The Chase and King of New York is the most memorable for me.
The Chase is an all-time favorite for me. Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
Great picks - I'm actually planning to rewatch Man's Best Friend here soon.
King Of New York is brilliant. Yet another villain called Frank. State Of Grace from the same year was another amazing underworld thriller with a mob boss also called Frank.
Been ages since I've seen State of Grace, great movie. Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
Most underrated gangster movie of all time.
@@Fingersofjoy Brilliant finale shootout.
@@TheVidkid67 I love the scene when they were up on a roof swan penn and Gary old man just talking and drinking and he takes out a dead guys hand that he keeps frozen and keeps trying to touch Sean penns character "terry" with it and freaking him out..lots of amazing talent in that movie..ed Harris was great too
@@Fingersofjoy "Meet Flynn, hands up!"
Loved this first ep for the ‘90s, the credits were amazing! Some suggestions I had were Judgment Night, Drop Zone, Brokedown Palace, Mr Wrong and Trespass.
Thanks so much Shimma! Love these picks!
Damn u got good taste and I'm only judging that by 2 of your mentions..first and last.
I've always liked the movie Deep Rising. Still watch it from time to time 👍 r.i.p treat Williams ✝️🙏
RIP Treat! I just watched he and Piscopo in Dead Heat!
The Chase is one of my favorite movies. Didn’t see it in theaters but I’ve watched it lots of times. Charlie Sheen is awesome in it.
Awesome fun fact, I never noticed that!
Guarding Tess 1994. The first two acts of the film are what the poster would lead you to expect, but the third act makes up for all of it and made Nicholas Cage one of my favorite actors at the time.
Such a fun movie!
Airborne was one of my favorites of the time.
It's a fun one, I learned more on skate and surf films from the 80s and never really gave Airborne a shot until a handful of years after its release and I loved it.
Nice little series starter man, might catch me a little airborne this evening!
Can't go wrong with Airborne! Thanks for watching YNGBLD!
Welcome bro, goes without saying man yngbld is homage to an 80's classic!, keep up the good work man.
Lowe/Swayze great movie!
💯 Deep Rising is guilty pleasure perfection.
Kelly Preston was absolutely gorgeous is that movie.
Forgotten 90's movies in no particular order whether it's the big budget or simply straight to video release.
- A long kiss good night
- Broken Arrow
- Zero Tolerance
- Drive
- Angel Fist
- Virtual Combat
- Tiger Claws
- National Lampoon's: Loaded Weapon 1
- Blank Check
- Shoot Fighter 1 and 2
- Sidekicks
- Knock Off
- Street Knight
- Boiling Point
- Dead President
Great picks! I just recently watched Loaded Weapon and Knock Off.
Oh man 💯
"Single White Female" was on a free broadcast channel recently but I can't remember which one. I think that movie was a hit back in the day.
Born in 83 I had one them black boxes to descramble ppv movies, seen these movies many times
The coveted black box! I remember we had one friend whose parents had one.
Please add “Matinee” from 1993
Oh yeah that's a great pick for sure!
I remember Mumford being good - I haven’t seen it or heard a word about it since I saw it in the theater
Oh yeah great mention, I haven't seen that one in many years.
I recently saw 187. That was intense! Highly recommend. Might still be on Tubi.
Tubi is low key fire
I recently watched it on Tubi as well. That ending probably wouldn't be made today. Thanks for watching!
King of New York is a brilliant movie and aside from maybe Walken, this came out just before the rest of the cast became big names
💯
187 is one of those films you remember. It leaves an impression. Sam Jackson is probably at his best here but it also has one of the most disturbing villains in Benny. That dude is scary as hell how he just kills people so effortlessly. I always remembered Benny. He scared the crap out of me.
Oh man 💯
I watch Ski School (1+2) and Deep Rising at least once a year. King of New York about every 5.
The rest i have truly forgotten...
I love Ski School so much. Dumb but perfect for what it is. Definitely a feelgood movie for me. Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
Thursday (1998), starring Thomas Jane, Aaron Eckhart, Mickey Rourke, Paulina Poriskova, and more!
Awesome pick - I haven't seen this one. Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
Possible entry for future episode would be Jack the Bear.
If you do more 80s, Combat High (1986) might fit in.
I need to check out Combat High I dont think I've seen that.
Deep Rising is a very cool badass Die Hard style action movie on a Cruise Ship that has a giant lovecraft style octopus as the main antagonist.
It's a fun movie. I love watching it during Halloween season.
King of New York is a certified classic
I remember these movies, how cool is that. I liked "Ski School" didn't really like "Single White Female". I didn't know Jack Black went that far back in cinema [1992]
I didn't know JB went back that far either, but he has popped up in more than a few of the films that will be in this series that I forgot he was in all together.
Deep rising Is criminally underrated
💯
Robot Jox and Arena ,both from the same low budget production company. They also did a dystopian film called Class of 2001
Great call on Robot Jox! Hell yea man!
Have you mentioned the movie Gone Fishing yet? It's with Joe Pesci and Danny Glover. I lived behind a movie theater in Rhode Island throughout the 90s, and I always had a friend working there. Got to see every movie that came out in theaters in that decade.
Oh dude! I forgot about that movie! I remember seeing it at the drive in as a teen.
Higher learning was dope.
The long kiss goodnight 👍
You guys ever see the movie "A brothers kiss" with john legwizomo (lol) 👍
90s had some good films
I need to check that movie out, I haven't seen it but always enjoy Leguizamo.
Hell yeah - Lawnmower Man is a wild ride!
Snowboard Academy came out in the late 80s or very early 90s.It starred Jim Varney "aka Ernest P Worrell " and Bridget Nielsen.
How have I not heard of this movie, I need to find it.
I liked the gyver, Dark angel I A.K.A I come in peace, Mario van peoples "SOLO", and Blank Man.
Great picks! Forgot all about Solo!
Deep Rising & Outside Providence are both great movies...
100%
Deep Rising is bloody awesome!
💯
Victor Argo had a small part in 1986's Raw Deal as one of the main mafia family's hitmen. He was in the beginning of the film when the safe house cabin is attacked. One of the thugs who arrive at the train station and visit the safe house in the station wagon. Didn't much or any dialogue. Extremely little, if any. He also appeared in one or two season 5 episodes of Miami Vice.
I noticed that too - also noticed Frank from Everybody Loves Raymond plays one of the henchmen. It's always weird seeing people you know from sitcoms back in movies earlier in the careers.
@@MoviesNeverSayDie Oh! I didn't notice him! I'll have to watch again. Yes, I agree. pretty weird and surprising.
Wasn't he in like 5 of Abel Ferrera's movies
@MoviesNeverSayDie Ya bro, your video reminded me of that movie. Virtuosity, Dark City and Lawnmower Man also came to mind. But there are some people that wouldn't consider those forgotten. Anyways, I just bought Popcorn on DVD. Couldn't find available on any streaming services. Worth the purchase
Yeah it's always tough to find movies truly forgotten by everyone but it's all for fun - I love those movie. I was watching some of Lawnmower last week on Tubi when getting some work done and I kept catching myself watching and not working haha.
Here's just a few of my recommendations from the 1990s:
*Comedies*
Clean Slate
Little Big League
Living In Peril
Memoirs of an Invisible Man
Noises Off
Short Time
The Wrong Guy
*Dramas*
Breakdown
Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story
Flatliners
Pirates of Silicon Valley
The Colony - A TV movie, but a good one
Falling Down - Arguably the greatest movie of the 1990s, though I wouldn't exactly consider it as "lost"
Jade - This movie is just average, but it's worth watching for what I think is possibly the best car chase scene of any movie
The Jacksons: An American Dream - This was originally a miniseries, so I don't know if it counts as a "movie"
Awesome picks! Breakdown, Falling Down a favorites of mine.
i own HOT DOG THE MOVIE,and SKI SCHOOL and SNOW BOARD ACADEMY. MY siblings love these movies as well as myself.
Hot Dog and Ski School are a blast. I need to look up Snowboard Academy, it isn't ringing a bell. Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
Fun movie Dre and Ed Lover! I think that was Demme's first movie.
I want that shirt!
It's definitely one of my favorites!
Loved Ski School.
Same here man!
God, Outside Providence. I loved this movie. And I forgot it existed lol
It's a true forgotten gem. I watched it a ton on DVD this it seemed to vanish for like 20 years haha. Fun movie for sure!
Might want to mention that Ski School is a semi sequel to Summer School with Mark Harmon
Great point! Forgot all about that connection.
Ricochet and Deep Cover are great picks. Love Fonda as well. Great actor.
My buddy and I paid $2 each to see Celtic Pride....we still joke about how it was not a great investment of time or money..
🤣🤣
So many great picks here! Awesome! A bunch of these are going to be in future episodes.
Phenomenon 1996. John Travolta gave his best performance in my opinion.
Oh yeah great pick.
Clifton Collins JR went by Clifton Gonzalez Gonzalez during the time he filmed 187. He changed his name years later, I'm not sure why
That's an interesting fun fact I didn't know that. He's a highly underrated character actor.
Your upcoming forgotten 90’s movie lists will be incomplete if you don’t include “Brain Scan” w/ Eddie Furlong. That movie was awesome.
Oh man great pick! I forgot about that one too.
@@MoviesNeverSayDie Exactly. Almost nobody I’ve asked remembers it, but it’s a mind-blowing ride and criminally underrated.
jennifer 8 - cold around the heart - red rock west - jade - a simple plan - office space - the big lebowski - buffalo 66 - strange days - the game
Awesome picks! Love these movies. Office Space is near and dear to me.
I just watched buffalo ‘66 the other day. It was odd but good.
@@MoviesNeverSayDie cool - glad you liked them
@@bamafan9283 yeah - its quite an unusual movie - uncomfortable viewing!!! - i really like it tho
But I think it holds up better over time bc of the blend of drama and humor.
x On a side note (relating to the movies on this video and a previous video):
o Kristy Swanson is a fantastic actress who I think has not picked the right roles for her strengths (she was fantastic on Buffy The Vampire Slayer).
o Jennifer Connelly is a fantastic actress who would be more familiar to the public if she participated in more public things outside her movie roles.
o Cyndi Lauper does not play up to her strengths for the bridge between music and movies.
I agree, Swanson's great. Connelly as well.
For all the people complaining these movies aren’t lost,to someone born after 2000 I think the list would probably be great .
For me it’s great nostalgically.
Thanks for watching dude! I appreciate it.
The Net (1995) and Toy Soldiers (1991)
Great picks. I always enjoy The Net on a rainy weekend and I can stop what I'm doing and watch Toy Soldiers anytime! Haha.
Hope you cover 90s cyberpunk classics like Strange Days or Johnny Mnemonic.
Love both of them and they will be coming later in the series for sure! Thanks for watching!
@@MoviesNeverSayDie One other thing: Any chance you might cover 80s & 90s neo-noir like Body Heat, Thief, Live and Die in LA, Bound, Hard Eight etc.?
That's a great video idea! I'll put that on the list. I love the genre too! Thanks Germania!
Not a 90's thriller but still a fun and interesting one is Heist. It's from 2001 and stars Gene Hackman and Danny Devito and Sam Rockwell. Have you seen it?
Dude I just did a double feature of Heist and The Score. Great movies.
@@MoviesNeverSayDie Oh, sweet, man! I need to check that out! Did you upload it??
Dude I loved Airborne growing up. It's not the greatest movie but it's awesome with many tk come popular actors.
💯 There are so many movies I love despite not being overly incredible from a filmmaking aspect.
SUGGESTION : HOLLOW POINT (1996) action comedy with Donald Suntherland, Tia Carerre and Thomas Ian Griffith
Thanks for the recommendation I havent seen it but the cast sounds great!
a few other great picks:
The long Kiss Goodnight
John Carpenter's Vampires
The Bone Collector
Daylight
Money Train
Love all of these picks. Money Train is a guilty pleasure fave of mine. I could sit down for any of your picks right now. Been ages since I watched Vampires!
@MoviesNeverSayDie same but Long Kiss and Money Train are on my annual Christmas movie list along with Die Hard 1 & 2 and The Ice Harvest
Nice I have these on my Christmas watch list as well. Along with The Ref, Mixed Nuts, Lethal Weapon, Trapped in Paradise, and Friday After Next with some others.
Only the Strong was another great, lesser known, 90s movie
Definitely!
Another movie that was good too was the substitute I always get it confused with 187
Great film for sure! Love Berenger, he kicked ass in that one.
