I just bought one of these (2020 dual motor) for my teenage son. I am astounded at how the white seats are still clean after 3 years. I mean the car is flawless inside and out. All that and it’s nearly as fast as my RS7! I really dig it.
Thanks Alanis! Yep the acceleration of a Tesla is very addictive. I stomp on my Tesla Model Y Performance all the time...can feel the blood rushing to the back of my eyeballs!
Alanis this was so much fun to watch, and imo your best review thus far. You being giggly throughout adds such happy vibes. Also, when you had romance mode on your reaction when Marvin Gaye started playing 😂😂

Had a M3P for about 2 years as a daily and holy crap what a car for the money, only issue I found with these cars is the wheels; had about 4-5 flats in the span of a year with the 20’s, with some more agressive wheels and some thicker sidewall tires it fixed the problem easily plus much better grip. I personally picked up some Forgestars at 19x10 and I found the DWS06+ rides fantastic and still gives you comparative performance to the PS4’s in a all season tire plus ride comfort is much better at a bit of a cheaper price.
I have a '20 Model 3P I've had for a few years now. Good car overall. Great performance, solid feel, great audio, good charging speed at the newest supercharger stations. Downsides are that storage space is limited, even with a frunk (frunk is tiny, really; rear trunk is ok but has limited opening size that is occasionally a problem), back seat space is a little tight, and most Model 3's struggle with a flawed A/C design that results in bad smells (vinegar-like), requiring roughly yearly A/C clean-outs to prevent.
Missed in many reviews in Tesla's cause they are just borrowing it for recording...... you very very very rarely use the key card. 99.9% of the time you just use your phone and walk in and out, doing the locking/unlocking without you having to even think of it. To the point where when you use a 'normal' gas rental car, I forever forget to lock the door when I leave, and often forget to turn off my wife's PHEV as you have to hit the Start/Stop button. All reviewers should know this by know as any owner knows this after like 3 days. The card is only a backup that I keep in my wallet (or purse), etc in case something happens to your phone.
I have to keep the keycard in my car for valet parking, but I end up using the keycard to validate my app as it sometimes drops my phone's authentication (could be an issue with Android). But yeah you rarely use the keycard on a regular basis.
Think people are starting to understand if you don’t buy a new EV, don’t bother with used as the battery replacement is usually the biggest issue and these teslas are just filling empty lots, spilling over from the Tesla dealer.
My 2020 Model 3 has very little battery degradation after 3 years. As another reply said, you tend to lose a little bit of range the first year or two and then it tends to level off. It's still unclear what kind of lifespan Tesla batteries will have, but there are plenty of old Teslas running on their original batteries. I also have a 10 year old Model S on it's original battery that still works fine. Hard to say how long the battery will last, but for my one anecdotal data point, I'm at 10 years and still going. If you don't already know, to ensure maximum battery life, don't regularly charge battery above about 90% or let it sit for long periods below maybe 10%; ideally keep it between 20% and 80% most of the time to minimize degradation and maximize lifespan. Occasional charges to 100% are fine prior to trips though, but set charge limit around 80% for day to day.
Considered a model y performance but got an ioniq 5 instead for the softer ride and subjective better styling. If I was getting a sedan the model 3 performance used is a bargain
@@ImARealHumanPerson people forget that all cars will depreciate. Tesla was protected from that for years due to demand. That’s over. I got 8500 off so I’m not that worried about the depreciation.
I have a Y and that's always in my top 2 things I'd wish to improve, the suspension. They apparently really reworked it all in the updated 3, which should be coming to Y soon. Friend of mine has a Y Perf and Ioniq 5, I'll have to ask him how much diff the ride is for him. I've yet to drive the Ioniq 5 but always loved the unique look and many things about it for sure. Charging network up here in MN for non Tesla's is pretty rough, but very soon opening up for NACS adaptors which is huge of course.
@@m40dotyeah I have to drive to Minnesota next year and I have to change my route just because charging Infrastructure. Tesla still winning in ease of ownership in terms of charging and software
I don't think the Model 3 or Tesla's interior design language in general looks good. It's a blank piece of paper. Yes, it's minimal but there's a difference between beautiful and blank. Mercedes, Audi, Acura, even Hyndai and Kia have nice looking interiors that look better because they have stuff to look at and feel in the interior.
Man these things are a snore to look at. They're the ideal fleet car for anyone wanting to just disappear. Zero shape or styling; bland, bloated, and boring. The interior is arguably even worse as it's so boring and basic that it's got to be the cheapest looking car interior ever made. Literally nothing but blank panels and a tablet lazily slapped on top. Truly awful
I have the opposite opinion. I find it to be low and sleek and muscular and sporty looking, especially that low hood line and rear haunches, with a delightfully minimalist and uncluttered interior. Too many exterior designs are far too busy, fussy, and overdone, especially the grilles, vertical front surfaces which make no sense, and too much black plastic on many.
Come to my office. One day I counted 133 Teslas in the parking lot, all in the same five colors. It's such a dull design. It's funny how Tesla has convinced everyone that Mitsubishi build quality and a PC monitor stuck to a featureless dashboard is luxury.
This car has no dashboard. I dont buy cars that dont have dashboards. The current ones dont even have stalks anymore! For crying out loud, what is this?!
Hi Alanis, one of your best reviews for sure, quite interesting jokes a side, i think Doug reviewed one back in the day but I don't really remember. its a cool car in a lot of ways but riding in one the absolute worst part of it is its a.) interior quality (especially the seats especially the rear seats) and the b.) ride quality is far far far far too firm resulting in an uncomfortable ride. You can see this during the test ride. I am not talking about the car being relatively sporty or firm but harsh and rigid. Supposedly these issues have been addressed in the new models but I have no idea as I haven't been in one.

I’m not sure where you are getting your data from. Tesla Model 3s are still popular on the used market. Also, regarding the battery, the exact opposite is true. There are enough Teslas now with higher mileage, like with 200,000 miles on the odometer where the battery is still between 85% to 90% making it a non issue. The rest of the car will fall apart before the battery no longer has a useable range.
