    Pain between the shoulder blades is often caused by active trigger points as well as myofascial adhesions in numerous muscles.
    In this tutorial, I will show show you which muscles and trigger points might be responsible for your pain and how to deactivate them.

    Oh my god. You are a GENIUS. I couldn't breathe from the pain between my spine & shoulder blade and was nearing my pain threshold - it was the tennis ball almost under my armpit that did the trick. Thank you for sharing this!! So grateful.

    Wow. The very first armpit one was instant relief! I can't believe it. My left arm, neck and jaw had been numb and sore the past 2 days so once again feared I was having an early aged heart attack even though I get this pain every other month or so and have had about a couple dozen cardio scans and tests the past several years that all come back normal. Thank you, thank you!!!

    Thank you so much. This is awesome. I have forward head position and have been trying hard to correct it. But the pain in my neck and mid-back has been horrible. I used to get cervicogenic headaches all the time. Now its all mid back and neck pain. Got to the point the mid back pain would wrap around my sternum and even cause stomach issues and lack of sleep. My Doc wants me to get an MRI and chest CT. I just did these self -massages and I almost hit the roof from the trigger point pain. But it has loosened everything up in my neck since I cant remember when. Will still go for scans, but think this has helped enourmously.

    This is an amazing video. You explain everything very well. Is a tennis ball as good as a massage ball? I have had a pain between my spine and right shoulder blade - I think its a ‘rhomboid strain’. It’s causes a burning pain sensation when I am lying down. Have had for over a month now - didn’t think I had bad posture but it could be the cause as you say..

    • @painotopia
      @painotopia  5 років тому

      A tennis ball works fine too, of course :). There are more things than posture that affect muscles, also this one.
      - movement patterns
      - breathing patterns
      - emotions
      - the list goes on and on.

    I’m just trying it out as I have that specific under should blade pain when breathing and stretching. One thing though is, how long do we massage for? - I’m keeping heat atm, and I would like to know when to massage again. (Every 30 mins)? Thanks

    • @painotopia
      @painotopia  6 років тому +1

      It depends on your body and your state of your nervous system. To really get a strong effect I recommend massaging at least 30 seconds.....I sometimes massage one point for minutes. However this is not always possible as it becomes just too painful.
      This is why I recommend the following: Start out with gentle and less frequent massages....every 30 minutes is too often!! Maybe once or twice a day. Then see how your body reacts and adjust accordingly.
      Did that help a bit?

    • @painotopia
      @painotopia  5 років тому +1

      The muscle itself is not loose, but you might mean a joint? A joint can feel lose, and actually might be "lose" and instable, respectively. If that´s the case some resistance exercises usually help. In case of the shoulder I would go for rotator cuff exercises.

      @@painotopia first thank you very much for replying to me. So you suggest that I train the loose side? What if that creates imbalance?.... I suffered from multiple injuries, it's been year now and I'm still in pain. I have a spasm in my neck, straight dorsal spine and a slight degeneration in my lumber spine. I was diagnosed 5 months ago, I actually been suffering for along time but I've ignored the pain for so long. Now I feel that my right side is a little bit lower(not really noticeable but I can feel it) than the left side... I'm a mess and my doctor is not helping me.
