Beautiful "La Paz", Baja California Sur, Mexico. Founded by Hernan Cortes on May 3, 1533 with the name of Santa Cruz, then called "La Paz". The tour following the Society of Jesus missions in Baja California is quite interesting, and the Rock Paintings of Sierra de San Francisco is another UNESCO World heritage site in Mexico. Nice vid, Cheers!
I use to have a place in Puerto Piasco (Rocky Point)...It was a lot of fun going there, but La Paz looks like A fun place to be..I miss the fresh fish....you got me interested in Mexico again..enjoy...
Agreed it has been cold this time of the year! Can bike more easily in LA paz than here in cabo...the corridor is so crazy! They are not the best drivers😳
Man, that ceviche looked so fresh😍 lol, and I also over-fill my tostadas🤷🏻♀️ those palm tree lined streets kind of remind us of LA🌴 beautiful little town, I’m sure we’ll make a plan to head down there one day🇲🇽🙏🏼 Looking forward to your next vlog😊
We’ve been to La Paz a couple times but probably won’t go back. It’s beautiful, the food is great and the beaches fantastic. However the police are extremely corrupt. We got shaken down by cops for “speeding” which we weren’t. Had to pay them off. Couple weeks ago our friends went on our recommendation and they were shaken down too. The cops had them take their luggage out and searched it. The cops said something about drugs. My friends were so afraid the cops were going to plant drugs on them, they paid them off then turned around and went right back to Cabo. They didn’t bother with La Paz and will never go back. Come to find out from the La Paz locals and ex-pats, this is VERY common in La Paz. If you check Trip Advisor you will see an overwhelming number of stories just like ours. We liked La Paz but to be pulled over for a DWA..Driving while American, was disconcerting, especially with kids.
With the Sea of Cortez on one side and the Sierra Laguna mountains on the other, La Paz is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts and watersport aficionados. Located 160 km (100 miles) north of the more famous city of Cabo San Lucas, this traditional town is a must-visit.
Good evening from Texas, That was a good video and I enjoyed the beach and the food looked mouth watering and I'm a little jealous because it is 46 degrees here and I want some good Mexican tacos. Well I am just happy that you and your husband are able to travel and give everyone video's to watch, and like always I am looking forward to your next video and ya'll stay and happy.
Also ... Taco Fish La Paz - great lunch place about 8 blocks inland from Marina Cortez. And across the street on the corner, a kilo of hot tortillas fresh out of the oven for 25 pesos!
Hi again! I arrived to La Paz un 1962 at age 10 that June i turned 11. The population was 45 thousand people. On the malecón on the left where the kiosk is was located my mother's store " El Sol Azteca", it's no longer there. It was torn down for one of the "remodels". Brrr lol never heard of MacFishers lol. If you come again and stay longer i will show you puerto mejia. Im on facebook under Ramona Meng. And i live where you are now.
My request is for more detailed descriptions of all that delicious food and different types of salsa along with more mention of prices. Gracias por hacer lo que haces 🌴
Nice video and everything there looks so nice and clean. Meanwhile here in California near San Francisco here the cities here are looking more like a trash dump and dirty.
Mcfisher has pretty good seafood. I had some good BBQ at J&R ribs and some good sangria and pizza at Paciana. Safe travels!! Not sure if you've checked out Todos Santos it's about an hour away.
@@laura-bronner Its because its a restricted fish to be sold commercially. Marlin is SUPPOSED to be dedicated to sport fisherman not for commercial sales. So when you eat it at a restaurant, its actually illegal. That's why you don't see it on US menus. Former Californian sportfishing boat owner....Fish & Game would bust you for sure.
You have to check out tres virgenes in La Paz...There Cesar salad and their hamburger are awesome. The Bismarck is also very good. We love La Paz.....but for year round weather Puerto Vallarta is the best
I want to know more about the vibe of various villages and towns on Baja Ca. Living in Chapala, how do the winters compare? Also, is there an artist community? Boho independent streak etc.. 👍💕
I use Baselang and have been doing so for about a year and a half - that's definitely taken me to the next level. I also like lingoda for focusing on grammar.
Yes, that's the one of the best places for them, since they spend most of the winter just off El Mogote, the large sand spit across from the main harbor. Restrictions have grown (rightly so!) in the last year or two, but the experience is truly amazing. Swimming alongside a fish 20 feet long is quite an amazing thing to do. There are also lots of dolphins right around the same area.
Great videos, looks like I’m late to the party! Between the LP and SJDC, Which would you recommend for a first time Baja California Sur visitor stay (but many-times Mexico visitor to other states)? We are more interested in authentic local fare and fun beaches; accommodations safe and clean but don’t need to be first-class.
La Paz was my first trip to Baja California Sur. I love it a lot and have since been back there three times. I think it has what you mention - it's a proper working Mexican city that is slightly less touristed as Los Cabos (although that's changing a lot). The beaches in La Paz are extraordinary - be sure not to miss Balandra. I have tons of articles about La Paz and Los Cabos on my website to help if you'd like to check them out: www.eternal-expat.com/category/mexico/baja-california-sur/ - feel free to get in touch via email if you have more questions!
@@laura-bronner thank you for the advice! Is there bus service directly from the Cabo airport to La Paz? or do I have to first get to some central bus terminal?
You need to be careful at the beaches in La paz because the city empties a lot of sewage right by the Malecón. That’s why you do not see the locals in the water in that area. If you want to swim go to Playa elTecolote beach
I live in LAP and Toro Guero is the nastiest seafood place. when you drive by it stinks of old fried oil. Believe me there are way better places than that. But I am spoiled by authentic food. Some places cook in the style that they think tourist will like.I don't mind paying good money but the food had better be good....next time try the marisco place at the corner of Nayarit st. & Guillermo Prieto. They make a great fish salad out of Sierra. Check out the empanadas(meat pies) up on 5th of Feb. 2 blocks past the Dairy Queen. 25 pesos & they are delicious. They sell tamales, tortas & burritos too. And the churro place is right next door. Across the street from Waldos & in the parking lot of the furniture store. At El Morro on the way to the beach, before the Palmira Marina on the right. They make a fabulous burger. Its a giant one so you will definetely have half to go. I live here & go out often to eat at different places. Be aware of the staff's cleanliness too. Especially now during the pandemic. Provecho Happy eating!
What's the average temp, rent, interior of home/apartment in la paz. Oh, ok this may be strange but, a nice place where the toilets........WILL take or flush toilet paper/tissue....GI problems. Please reply!
