How sad to realize after working for 40 years that the problem wasn't working. It was the country. Mexico is a better for the soul. I'm glad this gentleman found some happiness. Welcome to our beautiful, happy country.
Oh f off with this bs 😂the issue with the greatest country (usa) is that stupid libtards vote foe ppl like biden or kamala harris.... once trump gets in office rent, house prices cost of living everything will improve..... but sire running away from the problems is the solution huh😂 you realize if America goes to shit with another 4 years of kamala it will affect the rest of the world.
Yes, Brad seems like a cool guy, that knows what he wants in life. I have been traveling in motor coach for around 6 months, and just found his video. I see Joe D. On your channel. I had a Kundalini around 15 years ago. Email if you have questions. I have decided to go to Mexico. Starting research today. Gary
Muy bien Brad!! We Mexicans welcome you! We pretty much love everybody. We are happy people that really don’t take too many things too seriously and love to have fun all the time. Hence our happiness. La Paz se ve muy bonita! Guadalajara born and raised. Trying to leave Chicago for Phoenix. For the sun!! Que coincidencia my friend….
Thank you Brad. I enjoyed listening to you and watching your foot journey. I've been researching parts of Mexico lately and am taking Spanish on line. Took it in high school in So Cal a century ago and have hardly used it. Spent a lot of time in Alaska and Spanish isn't spoken much where I lived. Am now living in a 5th wheel up in the mountains in southern NM. I'm single female with two cats and worked in the mental health field til I was 77. Have seen a lot and really want to live where people are friendly and welcoming and the weather is mild. Things have changed a lot in the States and they may even change more in the near future. I'm in an affordable and peaceful environment where I am now, but would like a little warmer climate year around(and to be around more relaxed folks). So, listening to people tell their stories is exciting to me (I'm kind of a gypsy-type) and I, too, like seeing what's around the next bend. Please keep sharing your experiences on the exploring journeys you take. Thanks. Tam.
Many of your videos seem to feature people that have recently moved to Mexico. While the videos are helpful, it would be so much more useful to hear from people who have lived there for a year or more.
Thanks for this video! This is exactly what I wanted to see. I'm a single man, planning on retiring to La Paz in about 6 years. I've lived in Vancouver, Canada my whole life, and am so sick of 8 months of rain.
What a fantastic attitude Brad has! Way to be a cool immigrant and represent us with dignity & kindness! Kudos to you Brad, for embracing the culture, making an effort with the language, and for getting involved in community!! 😀🤙
@@LawrenceStevens01Im just there for 2 months. Back in states now. But there is airbnb there but I had arranged with private owners. Bucerias isn’t cheap
Mariana, LaPaz is a wonderful relocation option. We've been there multiple times. We love the proximity to Loreto, Mulege, and San Jose del Cabo. Mazatlan is only a ferry ride away.
We think La Paz is certainly a great option for sure - thanks for watching :) If you need help moving to La Paz, we can help connect you with the right locals in town. Check out our COMPLETE Mexico Relocation Guide mexicorelocationguide.com/guide/
My husband and I are traveling to La Paz for the winter months. This interview was very informative. We have traveled through Mexico many times. So super happy to be returning. Thinking of our future retirement there.
Oye Brad se te olvido mencionar Chile ! me gusto mucho la entrevista me impresiona la cantidad de personas que la han visto en tan poco tiempo cuando vengas a Chile te are una en Tome
Living as a single female in Michigan I have the same retirement plan. I hope to relocate somewhere in Mexico for a while so I'm binge watching all your videos looking for just the right place.
Go test it for 6 months or a year without abandong the idea that it's just a long fact finding vacation. Try a few places. It will feel odd but if you show the 'try' the locals will try to help.
Thanks Brad. Enjoyed it. I may try Oaxica (sp) for a short visit. I know someone who lives in La Paz, although they are probably on the other side by now. That guy loved La Paz.
Just watching your video this morning from Northern California and appreciate your information. You’re in the exact position that I am in as far as planning to relocate in Mexico, for the reasons that you suggested, as I mentioned are similar to mine. I have been considering areas like Puerto Escondido, which I visited a month or so ago as well as San Pancho, but have also given some thought to La Paz or Mazatlan Certainly would like to hear more from you after your visit the other places that you’re planning to go to My thoughts from videos I’ve seen like yours in La Paz, and a few in Mazatlan make the area look quite large, large in like a bigger city then I was interested in compared to the Rinconada zone of Puerto Escondido where I stayed Your thoughts on that would be appreciated in the future in good luck Steve
Cuisine - The seafood is great here. If I would have one complaint about the food is there is not a lot of ethnic options. A few mediocre Chinese places, good pizza, good sushi, but not much beyond that.
The visa income requirements are based on the Mexican minimum wage, which has been increasing significantly, relatively speaking, for several years. It has nothing to do with "Californians driving up costs". Here in La Paz, there are probably more Canadians than Californians, so that is really irrelevant.
I've been to Tlaxcala.. high elevation.. historically significant part of Mexico.. is one of only 2 states in Mexico where Bull fighting is still legal...
@@HLJlovejoyIf you have a Medicare Advantage plan you may be covered in an emergency only. If you have residency (temp or perm) you can enroll in IMSS. I haven't used IMSS but hear it's long wait times and not what most Americans would be used to. Better know Spanish or have an interpreter. Private doctors are affordable to pay out of pocket, which is what I do now. No major issues, at least for now. Private Insurance is expensive and you need to research things like pre-existing conditions and the like. Been in Mazatlan for about 1 year. Lots of doctors speak English that have a private practise here. Depending on your financial and health situation, healthcare could be a big concern.
No- your US income is not taxed. You need a tax ID for things like buying property, buying a car, or even setting up utilities. The government requires it for anyone over 18 living in Mexico
How safe is it to drive in Mexico? It seems scary to me. You hear about the drug cartel and kidnapping and also I am just curious. It seems like you’re comfortable with it.
@@bradfogg5812 Hi Brad. Don't know if you are still looking for a place in La Paz, but my wife and I have a condo in Centro that we might have available for a short term rental through November. We could price it $1000 and it has a pool and secure off-street parking. It's 4 blocks up from the Malecon. We will be in La Paz the last week of May if you are interested in connecting. Great video and we really love your take on moving to Mexico. We're still a couple years away from moving full time.

Very expensive. About the same as the USA. But wait for summer. We got out of the Baja.too expensive. To hot. No water.
What was your visaincome requirement. It has skyrocketed as Californians and others have driven up prices in resort areas.

PS regarding your Spanish, it sounds as though you’re quite a ways ahead of me in that department. Any thoughts on how I can improve my Spanish?
Steve
Great video. Absolutely, everything will be much cheaper if you go south.
$2500/month is the new "elite". We re livin now
You might want to try the chapala jalisco area
Fabulous
How did you go with the language barrier, if I can ask? What is safety like?
La Paz is very safe. My Spanish is pretty good, but those with minimal Spanish set get along just fine.

Sanborn's Insurance which is for temporary travel in Mexico. Will change eventually. Emergency medical coverage through Lakeside Medical.

Just avoid driving at night for all the obvious reasons
USA going down the drain time to move love Mexico my mom is from Moscota I love La Paz I need to buy a House
