The applique plates stop 7.62x39 ICW the base helmet. Rifle rated helmets do exist, pistol rated helmets do exist; Ops Core makes none of them.
@@froggerjohn427 for level 3a soft armor absolutely internal damage can and has been done after catching a bullet but as far as hard plates that will stop .308 the risk of internal damage is low because instead of deforming and having you body absorb the energy the hard plate absorbs much more of the energy leaving the wearer much safer and the forces transferred through to the body can me mitigated with the use of trauma pads behind plates

At one point they were doing a lot of research about inner helmet suspension so that the helmet contacted your head less and transferred a lot less energy but that seems to have gone out of the window with these crappy new hi cut types everybody has suddenly that barely even cover your head

For ~$1,000 I'd really appreciate third party testing results and full system weight to be displayed prominently on a product page. They all say "Due to the life-saving nature of this product returns aren't allowed" and then a bunch of them bury any evidence it could save a life or give just the shell weight. Sucks that nobody is running UA-cam reviews on them, too. Down to basically flipping a coin between three options. And bro literally contradicts himself here on American made quality.
I don't run the ear muffs hearing protection. I run the in the ear type. That way, if I have to ditch the helmet, I still have hearing protection. I also run a white light because that is more useful for what I need. My eye protection are a good set of glasses. Again, if I need to ditch the helmet I still have eye protection. It does matter what you do and how you're running your equipment.
Community patrol with a team would be the only reason I would wear mine. Intimidation with camo, belt, plate carrier, etc. Basically a "look professional" deal.

Whether it's a drop in part, or needs to be modified, you come up with some kind of solution, or you aren't going to be a guy I trust to supply helmets.
i already have an atomic defense face mask that id like to combine with a ballistic shield mounted on a fast cut helmet. ill take keeping my face over being able to see peripherals. along with neck armor
