  • Here I review and test this nice accurate unit. The TP65A comes with a rechargeable battery in the remote sensor. The earlier TP65 uses 2 AAA batteries in the remote sensor.

Bought a Thermopro TP63B, similar to what you tested, in mid 2021. Used it for basement temps and humidity, never outdoors. Last week 2/23/23 the sending unit failed. Plugged it in to recharge, would not recharge. Notified Thermopro, they sent a message that they received my message.
3/1/23: Received an email today from Thermopro. They have decided to send a new thermometer, complete not just the sending unit.
    Great product service, thanks Thermopro

Thanks for this. An err accurate review and test, not a text-to-speech top 5 list.

Sometimes it seems as if you're picking items from my Amazon shopping list. Haha. These reviews are extremely helpful. 👍

Update: I am qualified to comment because I have 9 of them, most replacements for defectives. I am being fair and honest. They are troublesome, inaccurate (past their allowed tolerances) and go through batteries at an average rate of 60-90 days (regardless of brand). Not recommended.

Hey Tommy . . . if you sit your remote sensor on a post (or any other flat surface) you partially (or fully) block the vent at the bottom of the unit that allows the outside air to come into contact with the internal sensors. That may be why it took so long for your remote unit to register the outside data. On the other hand it always takes a little while for the outside sensor to catch up when moved from one location to another but blocking the vents would only slow down the process. I hope you find this helpful.

Did you come up with a final conclusion as to which is more accurate on the Thermopro, the main unit sensor or outside sensor?

Thank you for this informative video. I learned how to open the battery cavity. Can I seal it with clear shipping tape to improve waterproofing?

Thanks Tommy. So can the additional sensors be used to check humidity in for example a garage at the end of my garden and a green house? We'd like to convert our detached garage in a games room and monitor the humidity to avoid damage. It's about 15m down the garden. Very much appreciate your advice, thanks again!

Yes. The distance the signal travels to read the remotes is impacted by obstructions like walls, so it will vary by location. Good luck. My units are still running strong.

thanks Tommy, I'll have to keep it by the windows in a direct line of sight. Great to hear yours are still going strong!

Great thanks for the video, mine arrives tomorrow, was wondering just how accurate it would be. Will be positioning it in the shade 👍

We never received the charging cord with our thermometer. Is there somewhere we can get one?

I can't find anyone who sells them currently. Perhaps buy a 2nd sensor that does come with one. www.ebay.com/itm/184012838261

I'm confused I put the sensor in the freezer to see if the temp would change and the "out" temp changed and went to 24 degrees b4 I pulled it bck out...why wouldn't the "in" change? I put unit in my gun safe and idk what number to look at. Plz help...ty!

    • @TommyTester

The IN sensor is built into the display unit.

@@TommyTester i understand that....but when I put unit in freezer the "out" temperature changed....

    • @TommyTester
      @TommyTester  3 роки тому

@@LMark14 First you said you put the sensor in the freezer and now you say you put the unit in the freezer. The remote sensor provides the data for the OUT reading, and the display unit has an internal sensor for the IN reading.

Those humidity readings were out by 7% ... that really isn't accurate at all, not even close to their own spec claims, or am I missing something?

Did you know that you are doing a test on a Thermpro unit, but that you have labeled it as a “Thermopro” unit. You really need to fix that.
