Truthfully, I've had nothing but trouble with Thermopro units.
Funnily enough I've just ordered the same ! (Just one sensor for me though) ...and thank god you changed to Celsius 👍🏻😉
Nice one Neil, the one on the roof though is gonna get the direct sun on it. On a frosty morning with the sun shining its going to be showing tropical temps out there. I put my outside sensor under the van near the back and used a cable tie like in your battery bay. Its been there for over 2 years now and not fallen off. I did buy the extra sensors for mine and put one in the Fridge and one in the freezer. Now I can see the beers are cold enough 😀
I bought 3 cheap wired thermometers last month
Used one inside the van living area and another inside the fridge and yet to install the last.
Cheer for the mention! Great unit those. I use them in my van as well
RTFM is always a dangerous activity Neil....but specially when the person RTFM is Mr Cee. Impressed with that gorilla tape though...wondering if it will stick my fifth attempt at a slidey door blind instead of screws. brilliant idea of using the sensors to keep a check on battery temps though. even better is the seat/step/laundry basket. great video as always. Regards and respect-Kenny.
Good to know for my future van build. Thank you for and informative and humorous video .
Glad it was helpful! 😀
I have one of them - it is awesome … inside and outside temps.
Great vid I have one in the fridge which is useful to adjust temp , the outside one may be more accurate for outside temp under the van as when the sun gets on the roof it will get really hot. Keep up the good work
Simon
Hey Neil I like to labels all things .... so all good...... you did well.....................
Got to love a label 😊💯
Great idea mate especially for your travels if you go to europe
💯👌
Hi Neil, just a thought, would outside temp sensor be better placed in the shade? Not in direct sunlight?
Like the wireless idea , cheers .Phil
I realy enjoyed your video .. very informative and made me laugh ... having a van myself and looking for a thermometer and will now get a 3 channel.
Thank you Roger . They are a great bit of kit and not going to beak the bank as well
Hi Neil,
I bought the exact same set (plus the x2 extra sensors) to put in the house, mostly for the hygrometer/%age humidity function to help with resolving and damp/mould issues...so far, quite accurate on both temp and humidity.
Just a word of caution (noted in those pesky destructions) - the sensors are "waterproof" only if mounted vertically i.e. with the sensor holes/grille at the bottom - your roof sensor is likely to be drowned as currently mounted...
Cheers,
Rich.
P.S.
I also have the same labelling machine too (Costco has a lot to answer for!).
Great idea Neil to get thermometer 👍👍
Stick one in the fridge so you know when ya beerz are chilled. 👍🏻
👍👍
Bloody Nora,,, I got a label maker and love it, mines more retro, in other words, twist and trigger, no batteries!
Gotta love a label maker 😊😊
I 👵🏼 like them 😉👍 ... love the laundry seat step 😍👍 ... love to you both 😘🤗❤️👵🏼🐾🐾🐾🤠 xxxx
Big hugs to you both 🥰🥰😍😍😍
Paul Brown would put his sensor on his forehead to see if he has covid, I would stick it elsewhere to see how much hot air he blows out! Love you, miss you xx
😂😂😂
Mrs Brown!!!! You so funny 😂
We miss you too xxx
Great video love how you guys come over on the videos
Thank you 😊
I like the thermometer but I would just go with one inside and one outside.
I am interested in seeing your results.
I am going to look into a basic set as I wondered last year without a heater what the temperature difference was.
I had the heater but wasn’t fitted because the van was delivered in January.
Yay... at last something I don't need to buy..... as I already have one.... 😏😊 one in the fridge 👍
Put one in the fridge…. Don’t want to spoil the grub!
Thanks Neil 👍🏻
Another brilliant video…..awesome
Thank you Sir Galloway 🙂🙂🙂
Your a clever lad Neil! Love your vids mate! 👌👍
I have the same temp guage with 1 sensor.
Engine bay, bad place to put it. Engine gets hot/cold(unless you care about your engine temp for real when starting etc.). I moved it to the back of the van for a realistic "in the shade temp", the way that weather measurements are taken.
On top of roof, bad place to put it because it will bake in the sun(weather measurements = in the shade). *unless you want temp under solar panels etc.
Batt temp, great thinking there, important for lithiums as mentioned 👌
I would try main sensor in middle of van, 1 in bedroom, 1 front cab and 1 outside.
Great vid btw!
That’s a cool bit of kit
Hi ya 👌🤩
@@UrbanVanlife hi how are you guys
That Garage one Neil is a Must for me, near the Electrics , any Faults leading to melting cables or worse.
Shame on you No Ms Emma, but Applause also for Sitting and Watching her 😊😇🤣
Very handy and also picked up a good idea as have some radar sensors stuck with Velcro on my van (as saved needing to take half of the rear end to bits) and the putting a bit of sealant is a great idea as keep thinking they may fall off it the Velcro comes unstuck - thanks for the idea 🙌
Be interesting to see if you get much temperature difference overnight between the two outside ones. I was surprised you had it in F rather than C though - but you did make me feel younger for some reason 😀
Have a great weekend - All the best, David 👍
The sensor on the roof, may not last .... It may be waterproof, but may not last with forced rain when driving, a sheltered position outside may be better ...... Nice review, I'm ordering a full set :)
Killing my OCD Neil. Missed the e off engine 😂 no hate on the label maker. I love it
They looked really nice and the price was reasonable, I considered getting one to use in the house. The problem is that the temperature range is -20 to 70 degree Celsius which is not enough for the winter me, it has already reached -9 this winter. It is likely just a result of the battery performance at low temperatures but something to consider if you are in very cold conditions. A wired external sensor does not have the same problem.
good vid on channel neil thanks lee
Thanks Lee
You should put one on Emma so you can tell how mad she is with you at times 😂
Great feature on the temperature sensors.
yay one two or three !
Got one sitting infront of me now lol love it
This may be what I’m looking for, just checking if I just buy a standard unit that comes as a display and sensor I can read internal van temp and fridge if I put the sensor in the fridge?
Yer the one we bought comes with 1 sensor so it dose in and out
your batteries should have temp readings if i understand Liph4 battery stuff - which i dont ( have seen others showing a victron app showing individual battery temp reports thought) so save the batteries however one in garage - one outside - are your water tanks insulated and heated - cant remember
engine bay no point you have engine temp guauge for that
water tanks - are they insulated and heated or just vanilla black kak tanks?
Our engine temp gague only works when the engine on . And heated tanks for water is a lot of wasted energy . Plus not all Lithium batteries have temp sensors that’s all down to company and brand . And also has nothing to do with price as well it’s a case of some have them some don’t
Nice blade
"Some people laugh at me when I pull this out !!" That's what she said 🤣
😂😂😂
You need even more sensors. I can't think of a better way for you to spend your winter evenings than monitoring and logging the multitude of temperature readings in and around your van. Endless hours of graph plotting and other temperature related activities. 😁👍
SADDLY you can’t connect any more . But what else can you do on cold nights to keep warm .
@@UrbanVanlife hehe!
Hi to you both
When your connecting 12v heater, and the heat thermometer, do the controls panel being on drain leisure battery cheers
U love your gizmos buddy
I was going to buy one. Sensor needs to be upright to stop water getting in holes. Maybe help
Just bought one, thanks Neil
Cool stuff,
See what you did there 😊😊
I use the sensors inside the freezer and fridge.
I still use a label maker, mines a Dymo more useful than people realise. I am looking for some strong double sided tape so like the look of the Gorilla tape, thanks for that.
I bought a multisensor thermometer for my 2021 ducato based campervan. Unfortunately it interfered with the keys and stopped the remote central locking from working. Took us weeks to find the fault - eventually found some obacure website which suggested taking batteries out of thermometer sensors as they can sometimes share the frequency with the key...and hey presto, problem solved.
Hi. Neil any chance you could put a link to them would like to order a set myself mate
All links are in the video description bud
Might have been an idea to get that roof washed, whilst you was up there, if you don't mind me saying ..
Why
@@UrbanVanlife one less job to do, when it's raining.
Why would any one clean there roof when it’s raining
@@UrbanVanlife what other jobs would you be keeping back, for such an event, as a rainy day?
I’d put the other one on you as you need your temperature taken charging me 22k for my van. 19 is a much better price I think. Lol 😊. Now you know I’m joking lovely van shame it’s a ford transit I’m not very fond of ford. I’ll tell you what put a boxer engine in it and I’ll pay the 22 haha. Merry Christmas Neil to you and Emma 👍🏻
Does the outside sensor battery not die in a matter of days in the UK winter temp ????
No mate weirdly enough . There still going strong . And fill battery’s reads outs and it’s been cold here the past few months
I like my label printer too
Neil, do you know any auto electricians in Liverpool who can sort out my sprinter? I have no roof brake light, the steering wheel buttons are not working, and I want a new radio/sat nav/camera and door speakers fitting.
I don’t mate I do all my own work bud . You’ll have to have a Google for auto elecs mate . I don’t know any
@@UrbanVanlife I have tried, not having much success. Used to do stuff like that myself but my disability is making it too hard. Never mind onwards and upwards.
How is the outside one holding up a year later after being in the weather is it still working well?
Yes all still working great bud
@@UrbanVanlife awsome thanks for your reply
I’ve ordered myself one for in the camper.
Roof is pointless it has to go under the van. I have one in the fridge as well. Btw Lidl much cheaper with 3 already. 👌
labels don't forget, we do
Hi Emma Neil,so it’s best to read the instructions first saves a lot of time 😮lol 😅 so why do you need to know what the temperature is on top of the battery’s I guess you just love gadgets lol 😂 just like me great blog and interesting, where is my Emma today I miss her well you know what I mean she just lovely 🥰 give her a hug from me please, make a old man happy, till next time take care keep yourself safe,John 😢😝👏😂🌹👀👍🫢👩👩🤪
One in the fridge
I thought I'd be clever and put a digital thermometer in my fridge. The batteries went dead very quickly.
It was 19.54 guys he’s working hard an he didn’t go to specsavers 😂👍
Neil you seem like you are snuggle struggling to ... Finish............. your sentences 😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
The wife is my Temperature sensor
Did you spell engine right ,lol just asking 😂
It was spelt the Neil way 🤗
Lol ok
Be honest mate . You wanted another Gadget 😀😀 Box has 3 uses, Brilliant . Youre no longer the Boiler man youre Inspector Gadget 😄 good luck selling the blue ford . Im surprised its not been snapped up . It will after winter
Easy...
Stick your lass outside
See hard she knocks to get back in 🥶🥶
Love your videos 😎🙏 only joking 😃
I would of thought the amount of time you spend on your van roof doing stuff it would be cleaner 😁only joking

Start reading instructions again, I may consider my subscriber status 👿
