I was talking to a customer support person about this same issue the other day. I asked her if she would take orders like that, she said she would if she needed the money.
They way this app look at it is how many miles you drove and how much you got pay in tips and base paid, if it's more than 1 dillar a mile you didn't take a loss
@Leroyjenkins999 but you have to consider the mileage [to and from] as a means to properly Guage whether or not a particular run benefits the driver. If it does, then great. I'm not saying every run will be equal or fantastic, but there needs to be a base in which the driver won't have to operate at a loss from certain distances that based on the customer's order would necessitate a minimum order to make it worth the trip. Remember, there is wear and tear on the car going out and coming back, plus any other operationally related costs.
@avatarinum I make my money at the end of the day and it's usually more than 3 bucks a mile, tip or no tip I make my money at the end of the day when I add it up per mile and what I made
Idk what State you're in because minimum wage varies depending on the state you live in..in California where I'm at in southern CA. Is currently 15 dollars per hour but in los Angeles is higher than 15 and also in northern California. We have probably the highest rent and highest gas prices and anything under 6 dollars should be illegal in California but in states where minimum wage is 12 or less ,5 dollars is not bad, and regardless of what part of the country we're at everything under 5 should be illegal, but this apps already covered their asses by paying the corrupt politicians and people in high places that have the power to regulate them. And seriously our government doesn't care about us, when they do get involved is because because they want their cuts from this apps and I'm sure here in California because of prop 22, the government officials in California already got paid, so we're on our own.

Damn, even DoorDash doesn't do me that dirty. I like a higher end burger place near me that has a chain of restaurants in my area. Typically the tips are higher than most fast food but I never have to go that far because there are two more about 5 or so miles away. Nobody will be ordering from that far or else it will be coming from the other restaurants closer to them. I don't mind doing a 10-12 mile order if its above about $15. Now I zoom in on the delivery map to try and see if its a house or apartment. House deliveries are usually faster and easier. No searching for apartment's and fighting for parking.
Declining is so annoying that there are apps, but most needs update or discontue. It's better to create your own personal script and set the parameters to filter out low pay, high mile orders. I also set it to fetch information from my archive section, where I create folder/sub folders. The folder contains .txt files & spreedsheets of customer names and addresses. Within that directory, I store body/dash cam footage that I remotely upload to my studio computer device at home
I cant believe some of those offers compared to miles is sick.. disturbing..door dash and uber eats have no shame..they should be investigated..need for union on these companies seriously, theres no accountability
ive been accepting every order lately to get off of their shitlist its been 2 months and i can’t see the busy areas no more and their giving me the crappiest orders because i went to oklahoma for a week
My acceptance rate with UE is so freaking low b/c I decline garbage. I also only stay in the area that makes me money. I'm not driving 45min b/c you want a milkshake. DECLINE! 😁 I get pretty good tips though. About 75% of the time I get more than was shown when I accepted. I'm blessed with that.
Elizabeth in Miami they're running a sweatshop. Most offers in our shifts will be $2/$4 for double or triple+ the miles. The do;lar per mile here is considered good cause you'd be lucky to get better deals. Especially when they've been idling us for not taking the low ball offers. I feel like that's a felony and they should all be in prison.
Got one today that was low amount but a cash tip - also what’s up with people ordering across town when there are like 3 other restaurants in there area on the way - same restaurant
My only issue is I am starting to get high paying orders that someone has already picked up. It’s usually later in the day so that may be a clue ? But it’s definitely annoying
I got one of those from IHOP yesterday for $27 to go 3 miles. Text customer to see if they got it, they said no. Showed the restaurant the texts, asked them to remake it, delivered, got my pay.
I do rides, and don’t accept anything less then $30/hr or $10 for every 20minutes. Miles are irrelevant.. my hourly pay is what matters. I also drive an EV, so makes miles even less of a concern.
I do rides also, and I agree. Do a lot of airport runs, so the average is higher. But I got one a couple weeks ago going from Atlanta area to Nashville. 250 miles for $157. Highest offer I've every gotten, but still decline.
One time me & my aunt did a Instacart order 3 hours in store had to be over 350$ worth of shit, paid my own 5$ to get her Brussel sprouts cause they wouldn’t scan. Bitch tipped 5$ drove 10 miles & up a huge driveway- worked at local larger hospital. Some orders indeed should be illegal
been doing UE for about 6 months now and it’s not even worth it in my hometown, it’s all just the 3-5$ orders. i live on long island so ill drive out to the hamptons and spend a night out there since the people tip VERY well. (i got a 30$ tip once on a 6 mile order) i don’t deliver anywhere but there since nowhere else is worth it i do instacart too but that i do anywhere and im more forgiving with the no tip orders since groceries are a necessity and you never know if someones spending the last of their money on it and just can’t afford to tip you. plus a lot of customers i’ve delivered to for IC are elderly or disabled or sometimes both. takeout delivery is a luxury service, and while grocery delivery is considered one too it’s straight up a necessity for others
It's the only job I know where the owners and "SOME CUSTOMERS" think you should operate at a loss to please them. They should try this with their Doctors, Dentist, Mechanics, Grocery Stores, Utility Companies and see where it gets them. It may be legal, BUT IT IS UNETHICAL AS HELL! Like you; it has to be worth my time and other expenses. On occasion I might take one at .90 cents per mile for a "SHORT DISTANCE". But that is it! That being said UE has been kicking DD to the curb for the past few days! UE seemed to be getting like DD for a bit! Uber Eats-Don't get cheap like Door Trash: I mean Door Dash!
I feel like Uber eats gives absolutely horrible offers, I only started 2 days ago but majority of my offers have been horrible, acceptance rate is at 19% 😞
There are people who actually accept these bad orders. It makes it difficult for everyone generally to find good orders, and it hurts our pay as drivers over all. I used to accept those when I first started. People should be educated on what a good order looks like.
It should be illegal but I think of it like this: no is forcing me to take those low orders so where’s the crime? I just decline them and keep it moving. Those customers will understand it one day and get with the program. 🤷🏿♀️💯
Experiencing an issue where people will bump up the tip amount to get their order picked up and delivered, then go back and edit the tip to be only $1-$2. I wish Uber would completely remove the "edit tip" feature. How do you deal with that happening on multiple occasions?
Your the best Sara ❤. Thanks for all ur tips. Question? Is it same thing if you press decline and if you just let the order keep ringing till It disappears
They are supposed to send you a 10-99 in the mail. If they don’t, the information is online. Even so, they already sent your earnings to the IRS so if you are off by a little amount, the irs will adjust it for you. I do my taxes every year!
The best way to know how to take the best orders is to take the best orders. Decline non-tippers. Stay away from crappy places you know of, restaurants that take forever. I had a shop and pay order last night for 2 miles and it was for $14.50. Mcdonalds for 7 miles for $24. It is the easiest job. I can buy food for a month for $60 so someone paying that much for one meal is crazy to me, but they obviously have the money. I work from home and make great money so this side gig is great, I cherry-pick always, I never take double orders or anything under $10. A thousand deliveries and I have never had a tip decreased. They are always what I accept and half the time are increased. My best order ever was on Ubereats at 1.5 miles and it was 70 bucks on the app and a 20 dollar cash tip.
I’m ngl tho sometimes going a $1 per mile is better than nothing at all cause in your shift you’ll still get good ones to to make up the difference but if it’s farrrr away from restaurants it ain’t worth it
Sometimes Uber stacks a ride you cancel in the next order to make it seem like your getting a good payout only to find out it’s the order you cancelled and get a loss
I am doing uber eats from past 2 years everything thing was good but from past 1 month i making hardly 300 a week before i was making around 8 to 9 hundred a week
I assume I'm getting about 2 -3 deliveries per hour so if I dollar per mile is important but also if you want to get into higher pay per hour you need a base rate like she said no lower than $6. Higher than fuel by a bit and if you can take 3 in the hour you average out to $18 an hour. This is how I personally go about it. I've only gotten lucky a couple times where the tip was hidden and it payed off doing a low paying order... but they should really update the system so it's a bid for delivery and then at the end do the tip because customer satisfaction comes after delivery amd the bid gets the driver to want to take the job.... we are 10-99 individual contractors.... even though we answer to doordash and do infection get penalized for rejecting orders that are not within our bid range to take the work.
Its insane how you guys think that 3 dlls is low, here in Mor, México the lowest payment for and order is 13mxn, around 50cents haha (for 5km or less) And those are really common
That $3.42 is basically your fare. I hate the orders that don’t tip at all just because they think we get fare money so we they don’t need to tip. I got orders consistently between $3-5 dollars to go 23 miles in rush hour traffic. Nope, or the shop and pays $5.00 to shop for there 15 items then drive 12 miles it to them, unloading and bring it to their doors step. Nope, then you get people who order $9.00 worth of food go 2 miles and they tip you $12.00. Yes please and Thank you! It’s a struggle for sure!
I can't tell you HOW many times I've had to cancel, due to restaurant issues, where they refuse to make the order, after waiting in the drive thru for 30-45 minutes.
Soooo this is how my orders have been ALL DAY in the DFW Metroplex. There are high paying orders, but I guess as a Diamond Driver with over 1,0000 trips, I'm not ALLOWED TO GET THEM....
I’ve been doing Uber eats for like a week now and when an order comes up it never really tells me how long it will take to get to the customer after I pick it up it’s so bizarre
Cracker Barrel in my area, you will wait for an hour just for one order. 2 you can add another half hr to that. So unless both have a hidden tips, its gonna be $20.82 maybe $25 (if one goes up) for a 1 1/2 to almost 2 hrs of my time. Not worth it for me.
Can you place an order on uber eats and have no takers? I'd think that would be a heads up about how cheap you are if you place an order and no one accepts.
That $3 order isn't even acceptable in California with prop 22. If I took 30 minutes it would still only be about $10, still under the mileage. I would have to drag it out to a 45 min -1 hr delivery 😂
I will take all of this ! I live in Japan ! And it’s crazy ! Most of order are 2$ or less and it’s normal to drive for 10 km for just 5 dollar 😂 ! I think if you try uberjapan you will never do ! For 2 hour Uber or 3 hour you will make 10 dollar or 20 dollar
I started driving for Uber Eats and I literally work 7 days and I had to decline a lot of Uber Eats orders I try to give Uber Eats a chance before I have to turn on my doordash
They don't ACTUALLY PAY THAT AMOUNT. Flag said 12.95. took over an hour and into another town. They paid me 2.35 TWO DOLLARS AND 35 CENTS. Its not the only time either. Daytona Beach here. Fail never do eats . AEVER.
😭😭 the $3 was me while pregnant omg. I sometimes take it cause I always think what if they’re pregnant n man if I didn’t have food it was over everyone’s day was ruined. While me n my pregnant belly walked around talking about food 🤦🏽♀️😂
🤔 I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT THEY WERE DOING THIS TO ME, because I complained about them limiting me from being able to receive $3 AFTER THEY SEND ME TO LOCATIONS WERE THE ORDER IS EITHER PICKED UP BY ANOTHER DRIVER, ORDERS THEY SENT ME TO, THAT ANOTHER DRIVER CANCELLED BECAUSE THE COMPANY RAN OUT OF FOOD OR JUST REFUSED TO MAKE ANYMORE DELIVERY ORDERS. OH! And, the project managers have noticed that I won't accept any orders less than $5 so, they will give me an order for $4.99. 🤔 ain't that some sht?
I cherry pick on DD too. But DD has been way better than UE paywise lately. I rarely even turn on UE right now unless it's peak time and I don't feel like doing UX

The problem with Uber as opposed to doordash is you know what area you're going to but you don't know where you're going
I say the same thing everyday it should be illegal
I cant believe some of those offers compared to miles is sick.. disturbing..door dash and uber eats have no shame..they should be investigated..need for union on these companies seriously, theres no accountability
ive been accepting every order lately to get off of their shitlist its been 2 months and i can’t see the busy areas no more and their giving me the crappiest orders because i went to oklahoma for a week
i declined like 5 in a row early on, and now UE doesn't send me jack. i seem to have messed up their algorithm.
Yes! This!
Hey Lady . You know you're right .
Totally agree. Most drivers don't factor in the return trip mileage back to restaurant areas. But they need to.
Had an order that was $49.09 for KFC, what sucked was that the restaurant was closed already and had to cancel it. FML
It wasn't worth it for me anymore. Not enough high paying orders. After I took out gas and taxes it seemed like I was losing money.
You are absolutely right and on point. I am a driver as well for both platforms doordash and Uber. And you are so f******gorgeous!
I once got a shop and deliver order with 42 items for $2.75 😭
😅😅 that's the worst I have read so far.
I've declined some, and now I have a higher than normal average cancelation rate. I haven't gotten deliveries in my area.
Do you mean the acceptance rate? Mine is low too because I’m refusing orders for 1.75…..
Got one today that was low amount but a cash tip - also what’s up with people ordering across town when there are like 3 other restaurants in there area on the way - same restaurant
That's easy to answer. The same name doesn't mean they're the same quality. Check out the reviews on all of those.
(i got a 30$ tip once on a 6 mile order) i don’t deliver anywhere but there since nowhere else is worth it
i do instacart too but that i do anywhere and im more forgiving with the no tip orders since groceries are a necessity and you never know if someones spending the last of their money on it and just can’t afford to tip you. plus a lot of customers i’ve delivered to for IC are elderly or disabled or sometimes both. takeout delivery is a luxury service, and while grocery delivery is considered one too it’s straight up a necessity for others
💯💯💯💯💯💯
Thank you for the info!
Yes. Do more shorts and from your videos as well go ❤
I feel like Uber eats gives absolutely horrible offers, I only started 2 days ago but majority of my offers have been horrible, acceptance rate is at 19% 😞
There are people who actually accept these bad orders.
Here is FtWorth, TX dollar a mile is the best you can get. It’s crazy. That’s why my acceptance is so low.
Experiencing an issue where people will bump up the tip amount to get their order picked up and delivered, then go back and edit the tip to be only $1-$2. I wish Uber would completely remove the "edit tip" feature. How do you deal with that happening on multiple occasions?
My acceptance rate on UE is like13%. All they send out is trash.
Your the best Sara ❤. Thanks for all ur tips. Question? Is it same thing if you press decline and if you just let the order keep ringing till It disappears
I don’t move my finger if it’s 12 dollars or less. I also use DD and UE. I average 25 to 28 dollars for 4 hours in my area.
I hope it's easy to do taxes it's going to be my first year trying
They are supposed to send you a 10-99 in the mail. If they don’t, the information is online. Even so, they already sent your earnings to the IRS so if you are off by a little amount, the irs will adjust it for you.
I do my taxes every year!
@@laurel1865 awesome thanks for the info I appreciate it
The best way to know how to take the best orders is to take the best orders.
I’m ngl tho sometimes going a $1 per mile is better than nothing at all cause in your shift you’ll still get good ones to to make up the difference but if it’s farrrr away from restaurants it ain’t worth it
Yes ma'am. Everybody stay safe out there. 🙏
Inflation is high and most people can't afford delivery. A lot of drivers seem to be struggling with the same decline as you are.
Its insane how you guys think that 3 dlls is low, here in Mor, México the lowest payment for and order is 13mxn, around 50cents haha (for 5km or less)
And those are really common
The first order probably has a higher payout due to hidden tip
They offered me 2,3,4,5 that’s why I don’t drive on the east side of Cleveland
Thank for the info cutie. 😊
I’ve been doing Uber eats for like a week now and when an order comes up it never really tells me how long it will take to get to the customer after I pick it up it’s so bizarre
Uber should pay tolls i live in an area that has a lot of tolls and they should be aware of that because i owed 20 dollars in tolls its crazy
Great great advice
Cracker Barrel in my area, you will wait for an hour just for one order. 2 you can add another half hr to that. So unless both have a hidden tips, its gonna be $20.82 maybe $25 (if one goes up) for a 1 1/2 to almost 2 hrs of my time. Not worth it for me.
This one went up to $27 and yes I waited about 20 minutes for them.
Can you place an order on uber eats and have no takers? I'd think that would be a heads up about how cheap you are if you place an order and no one accepts.
15 miles for $5 lol where we live
Anything less than at least $5 should be obsolete for Uber Eats.
That $3 order isn't even acceptable in California with prop 22. If I took 30 minutes it would still only be about $10, still under the mileage. I would have to drag it out to a 45 min -1 hr delivery 😂
If we get 1mill uber in lyft drivers to stop driving for a month I bet the pay would be 100% better, guaranteed
If you want to pay driver $3 SMH, you just drive yourself and get your damn foods😅
I will take all of this ! I live in Japan ! And it’s crazy ! Most of order are 2$ or less and it’s normal to drive for 10 km for just 5 dollar 😂 ! I think if you try uberjapan you will never do ! For 2 hour Uber or 3 hour you will make 10 dollar or 20 dollar
everything she said is correct 💯
I started driving for Uber Eats and I literally work 7 days and I had to decline a lot of Uber Eats orders I try to give Uber Eats a chance before I have to turn on my doordash
i do uber eats and recently the pay has been really bad and low lol
Got a $6.50 for 12 miles lol. Wish I could leave a comment on these when they pop up
I actually get those double orders low miles over $20 multiple times a day
If you actually complain to customer service after completing some low ball fares, they instantly pay you!
They don't ACTUALLY PAY THAT AMOUNT. Flag said 12.95. took over an hour and into another town. They paid me 2.35 TWO DOLLARS AND 35 CENTS. Its not the only time either. Daytona Beach here. Fail never do eats . AEVER.
You’re the best!
Do u have uber x enabled so u get surges with ur uber eats orders?
Wait so that dollar amount is the total for the clients purchase or what you’ll make if you accept?
My app is not showing me how much the order is and how much the miles are BEFORE I choose to accept it.😮
What happens if no one accpets those horrible low paying orders.. does it get canceled or does uber eats force it onto a random driver
Time to start your own service , Zanza Bee
How much $ per mile would be ideal? In worried if i declined would i get better paying deliveries or will that hurt me by not getting as much orders?
Uber has no shame in the game gotta respect that 😂 at least you can cherry pick on there
I cherry pick on DD too. But DD has been way better than UE paywise lately. I rarely even turn on UE right now unless it's peak time and I don't feel like doing UX
Yeah and you spend in your car 20h for 200 dollars.
