  • Part 3 of 4- I take you through what options you have as far as fuel control..from the ultimate budget single point injection set up, to standalone ecu's
    A high-level breakdown, all aimed at helping you decide the "Best" route for your chosen engine..with some lessons learned by my own mistakes plus some pointers of what to consider.
    Part 4 will cover..everything else!..everything from turbo manifolds, modifications to existing parts, other suggested upgrades, plus anything else I think will make this whole project that it easier to plan.

    The citymatic version of the seicento has a bosch tps with a dual outputs, don't know if that would help setting up a piggyback ecu? Could fit the butterfly shaft and tps from the citymatic to any of the marelli spi throttlebodies, it has a bolt on adapter from the standard marelli style tps, the shaft is longer and the peg is at a different angle.
    Is the map sensor voltage based? could you wire some sort of voltage limiting circuit so that the ecu never "sees" the Boost condition.

      I'm not actually running a tps at the moment (or atleast havent set it up in the microsquirt) my original plan wS to swap to a simpler style tps eventually and mount it somewhere on the inlet

    While setting up your MS ECU did you confirm the trigger angle with a timing light? The manual says it's -114 for P1 1.2 73. I wonder if it changes somehow for a standalone.

      Hi Jan, we didn't need to time it with a light (at least not yet) and just entered in some pre set timing information as part of the map set up (number of teeth etc etc etc..I'm sure we will get into tweaking timing more when we come to pushing for more power at a later date

    hi will we get to see it out soon?, and would you do it all again or just buy a faster car? defo a very cool car now

      Hopefully very soon.. I have to keep pushing mapping back as I want to be sure it goes well this time and it finally gets through mapping properly ...hopefully have mapping completed in November and then have to deal with driving it in the winter weather 😀
      Would I do it again?? Ooooo tough one..if I knew what I knew now I could have built it quicker and better straight away, but I only know what I know now because I did so much myself and had to go through it... if you put a gun to my head I'd say no, only because it was never bought to be a long project and it's my fault I didn't stick to the plan of it being a fun budget non turbo build..I've missed out on owing a lot of other cars (before the got expensive)

    Do you have a link for a fuel pressure regaluator? 💪🏼

      Here you go...this is the type of regulator I have..this one's a bit more expensive, but gives you the spec etc.

      I'm hoping to do some more turbo stuff soon..which will cover how to build one on more of a budget..unfortunately my 1242cc turbo wasn't really a budget build

    What do you think about Speeduino ecu?

    • @wornoutracing
      @wornoutracing  2 роки тому

      I take back my previously written comment..my Italian mate claudio (who helped set up my microsquirt ecu) has confirmed he actually doesn't rate speeduino at all..I can't comment as I've not got any experience..but I can definitely vouch for the microsquirt v3 👍

      @@shankswrc3509 I think speeduino is great, especially if you can solder, you can build a standalone really cheap. I even designed a plug&play version for Seicento 1.1 MPI. You can check my channel for details.
