@Sturmvapor nice. I think a big reason the constructicons are so popular is because their alt modes bring back a lot of early child hood memories for a lot of fans since most of us had construction vehicles as younger kids :) and you gotta love those overhead missiles of mixmaster 👍

Awesome video bro! I too bought myself Combiner Wars Devy. I know he got a bad rap, especially Long Haul's robot mode but his gestalt proportions are near perfect. Almost super hero like. Thighs are a bit small but posability is mint! I also love the Legacy Menasor. My favourite Construction would be Scrapper. Love Michael Bell's voice acting. Again, great work Chris!
Thanks brother! Yeah I actually love Long Hauls wide and stocky frame from the CW Devy. Looking forward to the incoming Aerialbots :) thanks for the view again Audie! Always great hearing from ya!
I got Devastator by winning a contest for the 86 movie our local ABC station held. They had a blacked out character and they would show a piece of it uncovered everyday and then you had to call in to name who it was. It was Ultra Magnus and I can't for the life of me remember how I knew it but I called in day one (his left leg had been revealed) and was the first winner. Anyway, I got the complimentary tickets to the first showing of the movie, a movie poster, an Ultra Magnus and a box set of Devastator. Now most would be excited about the toy that wasn't even available yet (it was a month or so before the 86 line was out here in stores) but for me, it was Devastator I was most excited for. While it was nowhere as big as it needed to be, to me and my imagination it was the end boss to end all end bosses. I basically used him the way the movie used Unicron. (And I used the origin of the Constructicons building Megatron but I also had them as the creators of most of the Decepticons). So yeah, Devastator holds a special place in my fandom and was my favorite until they released Predaking. Nothing to this day is as cool looking in Transformers as Predaking.
Cool story and congratulations! That was a box set of the SS devastator? What is your favorite version of Predaking? He was really in a class of his own!
@@StoriesFromTheToyshelf G1 it's (in my opinion) the best not just combiner, but best Transformer ever made, even today. The figures had all the articulation they needed (then again I've never cared how many joints a toy had and actually think newer ones have too many that can wear out but also make the toy just look bad in a lot of cases) but it also had heft from the die cast, a great color scheme and the toys were fun on their own and combined were even more awesome.
@RowdyRodimus OH OK sorry I got that wrong. Oh wow! That must have been an awesome prize for a 10 year old...hell I'd take it even now as a 40++ year old 😅 congratulations nonetheless! Do you still have either in your collection now?
@@StoriesFromTheToyshelf Oh yeah, I've still got all of my original G1 and G2 figures minus my original Optimus Prime (my brother and cousin were playing with it in what they thought was a big sandbox but was really the foundation for an addition to our house, so it got buried in cement lol) although I have since replaced it,still it's not the Optimus I woke up to on Christmas 1984 so it doesn't have that sentimental feel for me the way say my G1 Megatron or Soundwave hold if that makes sense to you. Christmas 85 was funny though, my brother was born about 4 months earlier and my parents held up two toys and the one he reached for is the one "he" got me for Christmas. Turned out to be Grapple and they let me open it on Christmas Eve (basically to keep me quiet until it was time to go to both sets of grandparents houses lol). Well, we get to my Dad's mom's house and we're opening gifts, one from my Grandma I open it and ... it's Grapple. Next one I open is from my aunt and uncle from out of town and... it's Grapple lol. I was destined to get Grapple lol I think people read the back where it says he's an architect and since I was always drawing, they figured that was most like me. It was no problem since I just exchanged the other two the day after Christmas but it was just funny getting three of the same figure in one day. Sorry I'm rambling on.
I opted for the Devil Saviour Troublemaker over the OSKO of the Studio Series. It is agonizing to handle, I will not lie. But I love it for the sheer insanity of the fact that 8 MPM style figures come together to form an incredibly screen accurate Bayverse Devastator, easily the craziest design in that entire franchise, all without any addons or additional parts forming besides his testicles. It’s batshit insane and I love it.
Yeah Devil Saviour trumps all in terms of accuracy. I was scared away by it's complexity and preferred the overall size of the OS. Still DS trally looks awesome! I'm sure he brings your display to another level!
