Marius was blasted off for being a squib. Alphard was apparently in good standing his whole life but got blasted off posthumously for leaving money to Sirius. It doesn't seem like you have to do much to be disowned.
I always thought there mother was marvol's sister since the family were known for inbreeding through contless generations and may have died giving brith.
Personally, I don't think this theory is true as there are two major flaws in it. First, if Belvina really was a Squib, it is quite likely that her own name would've been blasted from the Black family tree. We know this because the Black family already has a history of blasting squibs from the family tree, specifically, Marius Black was disowned because he was a Squib. Secondly, I highly doubt that Marvolo would actually have an affair with a Squib. If you remember the pensive memory, Marvolo calls Merope "Squib" as an insult which implies that he sees Squibs as inferior and as you yourself stated, likely would not have considered mating with someone whom he considered inferior.
One reason he might have had a child with a squib is because she was the only one who would. Let's face it, he isn't really the catch of the day. He might have justified it by saying that at least she had pure blood. The reason he hates Merope could be because she reminds him of his squib wife or because she is a constant reminder that he wasn't good enough and had to settle. After all she wasn't really a squib (or at least her magic was better than what we saw in the memory). She was just too abused and afraid to be able to focus on her magic when they were there.

Fun fact: Harry and Voldemort were veeeery distantly related. Marvolo brags that he is descended from the Peveralls. We find out later that Harry is also descended from the Peveralls or, namely, Ignotus Peveralls. We know he was the only Peverall to have a child. Perhaps going down the scale somewhere someone (the owner of the ring) had a child. They were probably one of a few siblings and therefore didn't get the cloak. They married Slytherins ancestor and eventually, after maybe a few more generations, Marvolo was born, but the name had been changed to Gaunt. So yeah. Both descended from Ignotus and distantly related.
Zack Weber good point. I love this theory, but the details are confusing. At first I thought the were going to say that Belvina’s mystery daughter is nanamort.
Man, I’m going to have to watch this like ten times to get this theory down. That was a little hard to follow, but that is because I haven’t followed some of these names being thrown around.
Narcissa actually IS named after a star; Narcissus, belonging to the Gemini constellation. That aside, your piece of information about Merope being named after the dimmest star blew my mind! That can't be a coincidence! Man, Rowling has done her research in Astrology for sure. I always figured Tom was related to the House of Black, even distantly so. This pretty much confirms it.
Nice theory. I can see JKR making it this way. I just think it’s amazing how big of a world JKR had created. So many characters, creatures, laws, spells, history. And it all fits together. Amazing
Oh yeah! Totally true though. Posted on another one the exact details of just WHY people assume I’m either a fictional character or a pathological liar. It’s pretty crazy tbh and more than a little TOO perfect...
lol Nanamort. Now we know where Voldy's hate of raisin cookies came from. Nanamort: "Tommy! I baked cookiesss!" Voldemort: Kewl. *eats cookie* Voldemort: *spits out cookie* Nana! What is in these cookies?! Nanamort: Why, raisins, deary. Voldemort: Avada Kedavera.
So I presume you are suggesting that Belvina’s third child was the legitimate one who carried the last name Burke and was the ancestor of rest of the Burke line? Thus theory makes sense except when you ask why Belvina would have an affair with Gaunt... it was probably still a name with enough esteem attached to it that she could have married him without facing backlash from her family. And you really think that Gaunt would have had an affair with a squib? If you ask me, it would have been much more likely for a squib in the Black family to have been disowned and never to marry a wizard. I just can’t see her entering a respectable marriage with a wizard if she was a squib. While she might have tried to, there is no way two wizard men with pure bloodlines would have consorted with a squib.
a couple of more details that support this. Morphen absolutely HATED Marope, and what did he call her in his rage? That's right a "squib" which would make sense if he maybe had an affair with her mother thinking she was a witch of good wizarding stock only to later find out she was actually a squib. Also at the beginning of Deathly Hallows during the death eater meeting, Voldemort talks about how "Many of our oldest family trees become a little diseased over time. You must prune yours, must you not, to keep it healthy? Cut away those parts that threaten the health of the rest." It's heavily implied that he himself has done so, we think he's just referring to his father and his Muggle grandparents but he could also be referring to his squib grandmother as well.
Tramps were homeless, but the name mostly comes from their tendency to move about a lot, often but illegally riding trains. There are tramps and boxcar tramps. Charlie Chaplin solidified our views of tramps in his silent movies.

Wait, didn't you say Belvina had three kids? So where's the other brother?
I’m kinda confused too. I thought Belvina and Burke had 3, and Morphin and Marope were the additional illegitimate children.
@@quantumgirl3047 No no, it said that Belvina had three kids. And the third must be a child with Burke, maybe who runs the store now?
MAYBE ITS THE ALBANIAN PEASANT 😱🙌🏻
Zack Weber good point. I love this theory, but the details are confusing. At first I thought the were going to say that Belvina’s mystery daughter is nanamort.
@@quantumgirl3047 I thought that too.
Ben might forget Voldemort's grandpas' name in a quiz but I'm sure he got this!
Ben, not you too! If she wants to be called Ms. Chelsea, call her Ms. Chelsea. We, the fans, are here for you Ms. Chelsea!
Man, I’m going to have to watch this like ten times to get this theory down. That was a little hard to follow, but that is because I haven’t followed some of these names being thrown around.
“That’s some magic for ya”! Lol!!! Great line, you both are hilarious and I truly enjoy your channel.
Merope is the faintest of the stars because she was the only of the Pleiades to have married a mortal
Nice theory. I can see JKR making it this way.
I just think it’s amazing how big of a world JKR had created. So many characters, creatures, laws, spells, history. And it all fits together. Amazing
Saw the notification and was like 😳 YES MORE OF THE FAMILY TREE PLEASE!
Are you a decendant of Tom Sr?
Elliott Lars Olsen 😂 definitely not the first time I’ve been asked this! It gets awkward when its said the Riddle line is supposed to be extinct...
Kathlyne Guillot hi! Your user does look familiar too!
Kathlyne Guillot wait hang on which one I’m curious now lol
Oh yeah! Totally true though. Posted on another one the exact details of just WHY people assume I’m either a fictional character or a pathological liar. It’s pretty crazy tbh and more than a little TOO perfect...
I love how Ben called Cursed Child a Fanfic
If your reading this:
Hey brother!
Ever since my daughter called him moldy Voldy that's all I call him. Was getting ready for bed when this hits so who needs sleep?
So according to this theory Voldemort would be Sirius great grandfather’s cousin’s son. Interesting.
Short answer
Voldemort’s Grandmother has Curse Of Vanishing.
E Hero Stratos Thanks! 😂👍🏻
Mosasaurus Fan wow lol that was cringe but funny
Bloxyrhys Roblox and more Lol I hope you know what cringe means
lol Nanamort. Now we know where Voldy's hate of raisin cookies came from.
Nanamort: "Tommy! I baked cookiesss!"
Voldemort: Kewl. *eats cookie*
Voldemort: *spits out cookie* Nana! What is in these cookies?!
Nanamort: Why, raisins, deary.
Voldemort: Avada Kedavera.
I feel like I need to reread the Harry Potter series every time after watching these videos
Maybe shes like, reeeeeally hott
At least, not of their own volition... Merope probably didn't fall far from the tree in in this regard.
a couple of more details that support this.
Cut away those parts that threaten the health of the rest."
It's heavily implied that he himself has done so, we think he's just referring to his father and his Muggle grandparents but he could also be referring to his squib grandmother as well.
I really like the whole idea of Belvialna Black being "Nanamort". It just fits so nicely! Btw, I call both of my grandmothers "Abuela".
Scott's edits were great this episode. I really liked them a lot.
So, are we gonna pretend that Belvina had two sons and a daughter, i.e. 3 kids, not 2?
According to this theory: Merope, Morfin and Burke's son right
Maybe one died in infancy
Erm, a tamp is another name for a homeless person as well.
Yup, what in the US tends to get called "a bum". In the UK it tends to refer to a man most often
Tramps were homeless, but the name mostly comes from their tendency to move about a lot, often but illegally riding trains. There are tramps and boxcar tramps.
Charlie Chaplin solidified our views of tramps in his silent movies.
Well, nomads are homeless too, and they... get around
Yes keep giving me Harry Potter stuff
You should make a video next on how Isolt is related to Morrigan and the Gaunt’s!!!!!!!
isolt's mother was rionach gaunt and morrigan was an ancestor of william sayre (isolt's father)
- wolfe I know, but it would be fun to see them go into more depth about their family.
Super Carlin brothers, I love your theories and I bet you put so much research into your videos. The effort you put into this channel is huge, thanks for making my iPad time that bit greater 🙂
5:52 Dorea Black and Charlus Potter
I think you guys have done more research for Harry Potter than even Rowling did herself.
I call my grandma Naniji, Nani is the Punjabi word for grandma, and ji is a respectful suffix
My cousin calls her grandmother Nanijaan and I call her Naanoo. Pakistani here.
Nana Mort- would you like some cookies Tom?
Tom- but I'm an orphan
Nana Mort-
You had me at "Nanamort."
your theories make me like the wizarding world even more. this one is now definitely one of my favorites.
“Nanamort” yo I’m dead that’s hilarious
I told this theory to my potterhead friends a week ago. I'm so proud of myself right now.
11:05
"Pleiades" is spoken as PLEA-uh-deez.
Also fun fact, the Pleiades cluster is known as "Subaru" in Japan.
The star pattern in the Subaru car logo? Yep, that's the Pleiades!
I think there are some "baby shark/Nanamort" meme comparison or gif opportunities in there somewhere...
I love the editing style with the bloopers
I think this theory makes sense.
I call my grandmother either "Oma" (Dutch for "Grandma/Nana") or jokingly "Grootmoeder" ("Grandmother")
Remus Lupin: Wolfy Mcwolfson
I wonder if he's a warewolf
Yep that’s basically the translation from latin
I got so confused listening to these names... I need more diagrams and trees to grasp all this lol... But yea sounds legit
Belvina would’ve been born during a time when Name Seers were still in use
Ok but Ben made me laugh 0:21 seconds into the video with a hot straightener in my hand.... I’m alive and love this channel
OMG SUPER CARLIN BROS
YOU CAN CONVINCE ME OF ANYTHING!!!
0:12 isn't his mother the descendent of Slytherin, not his father?
He here is referred to voldy
I called one of my grandmas “Mimi” and the other “Mae Mae”
Marope was supposed to marry Morfan, because the other 'pureblood' houses were not pure enough for the Gaunts, so it is more likely that Marvolo's wife was just his sister. kind of like the Targarians in Game of Thrones.
literally do any research at all about the Gaunt lineage and you will find that Merope's mother is also her aunt. Yep her dad married his sister that's the Gaunt family for you.
