It really does sound like it has more body in the sound. Would be interesting to see the eq levels, to see it is boosted for voice, or not.

Since the Pro+ has a much wider pickup pattern, do you think it would still be better for filming general things in public (like multiple people speaking to a camera) when walking around? I noticed the NTG is more directional.
Whoever has Pro+ like me, there's no reason to panic, it's still an awesome mic. The replaceable battery is one of the best features. For those who's considering a Rode mic, now it's a tough choice. Good luck.

I'm no audiophile, but to me it almost doesn't sound like a small vlogging shotgun mic but a "real" shotgun mic!

Does this mic pick up static interference from nearby wifi routers? I had the Rode VideoMic GO and that was a huge issue. I had to return as I couldn't use it because of that :(

Do you have plans to compare the Sony ECM B1M mic with this mic? Because I think Rode has copied the multi driver interface of Sony in the NTG.

You can hear a noticeable difference! Do you know anywhere I could buy a cheap Sony a7s second hand or full frame canon for my videos?
Most people would be better off with a X-T30 or A6400 for video, instead of an older full frame camera

Struggling with NTGs double sound... And using Final Cut. What u do or press there 6:44 ? How I get those 2 sound lines :D Cant figure it out...
On the Inspector in FCP, go to Audio Inspector (the panel that shows volume control, audio enhancement etc.), you'll find Audio Configuration, at the waveform you'll see "Stereo", you have to change that to "Dual Mono". Most of the time when your main channel is fine, you can simply turn off the right safety channel. If you need to "patch" some clipped part of the audio, at the timeline, select the clip you want to patch, press control+option+S, or hold "option" on your keyboard and double click the waveform
When is the NTG supposed to be released?
5:14 I don't know if it's the phone or the mic doing that, but wow that's a lot of hiss...
The "Uncolored sound" bit has some hiss, too.
Is it just me or is the noise floor a lot higher on the NTG?

Will that TRRS plug work with a regular camera mic input? I though it had to be TRS.
The mic will detects what kind of device it is connected to. I also think TRRS is kind of backward compatible? Like a smartphone TRRS earphone would work with any old walkman

That noise floor is definitely above a self noise of 15dB that’s given in the specs.
Which adapter are you using for the 1/4" screw on the mini tripod to the 3/8" connector on the mic?
In the video I used a cold shoe with 1/4" screw thread at the bottom (means that I basically added a cold shoe on the small tripod). But now I keep a 3/8" to 1/4" adapter screw inside the 3/8" thread all the time.

Sony Vegas wont show the backup audio track. Any ideas?
When it playback in Vegas can you hear the audio louder on the right side? Most software would recognise the video with a stereo audio track, you have to set it so it separate two channels. On Final Cut Pro X I have to set the audio as “dual mono”
@@TheLokCheung thanks! Yeah I noticed the 1 audio track had different levels on right and left channels. Just had to choose to listen to right or left channel only for it to work.
See how you can use different part of left or right track in Sony Vegas. As you see in my video I can fade out the clipping part of R track to the L track (the quieter safety channel)

Size. People want a smaller mic on top of their tiny DSLRs that actually sounds good. An NTG2 on a mirrorless would be enormous.

It doesn't make sense that you don't compare the sound quality with the deity, even though you had it lying around already, just really seems like there is a bias towards the rode here. Granted, you talked about the features being similar, but the audio quality should be the defining factor between both microphones. It really seems like you are avoiding the deity altogether.
Just to clarify, I own the deity, I'm not an advocate for the mic, if it's so much better then I'll sell it and pick this one up. Doesn't make sense to avoid it all if it really is the best mic out there.
