I love to see a small mini series on this - I've always wondered surfers like Kelly, Bruce, even guys out tahiti and norcal pro surfers their "closest call with a shark"... you figure these guys are in the water so much more than the average surfer, that they've seen some SH#T in their time... I'm only a weekend warrior , but I've been 5 feet from a great white, scared the shit out of me.. never used to think about sharks when paddling out 20+ years, seeing my first shark at age 31, i think about it now every single session. For some reason surfing in hawaii north shore compared to my home in socal - i dont fear tigers as much as great whites... seems like tigers your percentage to survive could be higher? great whites do that whole from the bottom attack 'jaws style' freaks me out. Great vid though! glad greg made it out with not even a scratch!

I would imagine that ambush from a White sharks would be like a car hitting you. Pretty scary stuff, I prefer to deal with Tigers than Great Whites any day.

Your re right to ask about survival percentage lol 😆 higher ? Would not be so sure or categorical about that ´ tiger sharks have to be feared and respected as well as bull shark and GW if they are called the big 3 it’s for a reason 😆 I would shit my pants if close to one of this 3 for sure 😅 I suggest you listen about some true stories told by Hal on its excellent channel sharks h a p p e n 😉

Watch a few videos on shark petting. They like being rubbed on the tops of their heads. BUT - the people who do that have gloves on, so as not to abrade their skin. Best defense against a shark is probably to go underwater towards it, let it see you are some kind of cross between broccoli and spinach, and NOT a steak. Humans taste bad. Lions will kill hyena as natural enemies, but will eat one only if it's a question of eat or die of starvation. Sharks SHOULD identify us as natural enemies (we kill them almost to extinction), but unlike us, they are not vengeful.
