    Thank you for this excellent video. As a native Detroiter my memories of David Ruffin and the Temptations go back 60 years to 1963. I grew up just four blocks from legendary Motown studios at Hitsville USA located on West Grand Boulevard. Their great baritone Paul Williams passed away in 1973 but Otis Williams, the founder of the group, is still with us at 81 years old.;

I met Otis twice. I told him the same. Plus that he is admired for keeping the group alive after all he's been through, then keeping the legend alive. I gave him a hug! He is a very nice person. He seemed to remember me. God bless him!

Not being judgmental, read the book "
23 minutes in hell"author Bill Wiese,
Have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus 🙏, your job your talent your education doesn't get you, and heaven
Sex before marriage, homosexuality drunkenness, not repentant from your sins.
Before it's too late, it is written in the Bible.
I hope while he was getting high he asked the Lord Jesus to forgive him
      Have a blessed day 🙏

Nice video loved David Ruffin and the Temptations! Why doesn't anyone ever document The Dramatics! They were just as famous as the Temptations! Ron Banks Lenny Mayes and Willie Ford are buried in Detroit also Lenny Mayes right there with David Ruffin but no one ever document their deaths. That's really sad no one remember their music. What you see is what you get...I wanna go out side in the rain..... Me and Mrs. Jones.....Be my girl. Some of the best music ever written by Tony Hester and Michael Henderson Wow I love the Dramatics. Wish someone would document their life story.

I remember when he had died and his funeral iam from Detroit and I l still live here in Detroit. I still remember David Ruffin when he had passed away. That same year in 1991 I was working as a volunteer tour guide at the motown museum. No disrespect towards David Ruffin''s legacy he will always be a musical legend who made a lot of timeless classic hits with his rich soulful voice. But when he was alive he had live a very difficult out of control troubled life struggling with drugs and his very abusive behavior towards women he had been in a relationships with women especially the very beautiful and legendary singer Tammi Terrell that is one thing I never didnt like about him abusing every woman that you suppose to had loved. RIP David Ruffin iam very sorry we had losted you at such a young age of only 50. I wished he could had many more years here

Great story telling for perhaps one of the greatest singers to ever walk this earth. Also it is my understanding that David was seeing Dean Martins daughter and this infuriated Dean, supposedly he had a talk with David regarding him seeing his daughter and David did not heed his warnings. So allegedly Dean put some action’s into play that may also have lead to his demise. RIP DAVIS

The grounds keeper at Woodlawn have a tough job keeping the cemetery looking good and they do a fantastic Job, but with so many famous graves they must remove the things that are left continuously. Great content and video/story about the late great legendary David Ruffin. He endured a lot in those 50 short years. I’m 51yrs old grew up hearing all the Motown songs but The Temptations were a household favorite.
David stood out amongst them all. David had that “IT” factor that stood out like a sore thumb .
Soulful voice that changed The Temptations for the better. They skyrocketed let’s just be honest.
We all have issues and David had his share, however, it’s the drugs that most remember and unfortunately killed him.
Prayers he’s resting in peace and singing in the heavenly choir. 🙏🏽
Much love and respect to the legend David E Ruffin 💜💜🙏🏽🙏🏽💐💐

David Ruffin was an amazing one-of-a-kind voice and a marvelous performer. it can't be forgotten, though, that he put his fellow band mates through a completely unfair amount of angst that they didn't deserve. Drug-induced or not, the Devil in David was someone most of us would not have wanted to deal with.

No he wasn't pushed out on the pavement when the limo arrived at the hospital as was depicted in the movie after arriving to the hospital the driver ran into the emergency reception room at the U.P.H located at 34th and Spruce Streets after the response team put David on a stretcher and took him into a examining room and he was shortly afterwards pronounced one of the presiding physicians asked a attendant to ask the driver of the limo to come into the hospital so a report could be filled out but when the attendant went outside the limo was gone the police eventually found out who the driver and the limo company was but their investigation didn't come up with anything that they could sink a hook into

The other Temptations group was with Dennis Edwards who was the leader. He eventually ended up passing away. Seeing him just on tv. the way he was sweating, l had a hunch he wasn't going to last too long. Sure people sweat under the lights and look heavier on tv. Yet, l felt he was overexerting himself. Then he was too heavy. I was concerned it was going to effect his health. It's a shame.

I felt that the Temptations instead of being so hard on him got him to help and still accepted him as a group member. Well you see the thing is that David Ruffin the temptations have to understand yes he is funny, and also outgoing that despite his down moments in life his mother died after he was born and his father was abusive to him he had no role model but I am proud how David was always about no matter what creating a difference in his life and experiencing greater opportunities his own life and i am also proud of how no matter what he desired for best even in the temptations. I feel they should have given him one more chance help love and supported him not kicked him out. None of us are that is why Jesus Christ sent to die on the cross for us. I am glad that I am saved, love God focus on my relationship with God, and also with others I help inspire and comfort them you know God gave me that beautifull gift. David Ruffin was wonderfull in the Temptations and a wonderfull person.

Who ever you are, you cannot sugar coat and equate a drug addict with greatness. It just don't work like that! David Ruffin was an excellent singer hands down, but he was a crack addict and being an addict diminished his greatness. A man can only find greatness in God

Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brothers eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? David was a victim he needed help instead he received judgement. I'm Randy and I want to thank you for watching my video and taking the time to comment.

Whoever you are... his name is Randy. And unlike you he has respect. You are a very rude person. No one cares about your opinion.

@sarahwilliams-garza4354 The statement that I made (Who ever you are) was not made to single Randy out in a rude manner. It was a figurative term to convey anyone regardless of status, education, etc. For example Berry Gordy or Otis Williams, or whoever.

No that is not true David was never just dumped in street the limo driver brought him to the hospital ran in the emergency room said he had a sick man in the car the attendants put David on a stretcher rolled him into a examining room where shortly there after he was pronounced , one of the presiding doctors asked a attendant to fetch the limo driver to come into his office so a report could be made but by that time the limo had left but he was not ever at anytime just dumped in the street like the movie depicted

You should stay away from these famous cemeteries due to not having permission from their families to video tape the grave.

It's a PUBLIC CEMETERY. No permission needed. If privacy was that important to the families, there would be NO ACCESS to the Graves of their so called loved ones.
