    The Temptations is and was my dad’s favorite group back in the day. Right before he passed away in a nursing home, I’d bring my tablet on certain days and we’d UA-cam the Temptations for hours. I just loved seeing his face light up when I turned on these dudes !!! RIP Pops 🙏🏽

      That was Beautiful‼️ You reminded me of a memory I had with my Dad who had dementia. He loved Gospel Quartet music. His all time favorites were the Canton Spirituals! When he spent time at my house. He watched them on UA-cam nearly everyday. For Christmas I got him Harvey Watkins Jr 📀 DVD. He loved it! He was a bit of a singer himself. Mostly in church. 💐🕊️ Time is precious. We have to stop and appreciate every moment.

    👍💯%👏👏👏.Otis William's has managed to remain in top position. He probally know his strength as well as his weakness. Like him or not. He knew what voices he needed. He might be the best singer in the group, but he knows how to hire the right voices. It was his group, and still is. There's been some Amazing Singers in the Temptations. Fact is there was no lead singer, but knowing who has the right voice to make a song a hit, is the thing Otis had control of .I guess we see Otis was not going to let anyone take his group down. If you got too cocky, your ego cast a negative spot on the group, they had to go. I get it. He created that group, chose the singers, nobody was going to destroy his dream, his baby.it seems he had that right. He didn't have to prove whether he could be lead singer. Knowing which voice could make the song a hit, would make the whole group look good. He's lost a lot of talented guys, but has managed to hire the right guys for that tine.Otis William's has proved he's no push over. He was in charge. He's managed to keep his Dream Alive. Those who made the songs a hit, will always be Legendary. We know whose voice stood out.whose Voice made the song a hit, the rest of the Guys Blended in. The moves, the outfits, it worked. I'm Thankful for what Otis William's Created. Making hard decision that could make or break a group the songwriters who created songs for the right guy to make the song a hit. God Bless Otis William's. I wish him continued Good Health and Staying Strong. I wish him Longgevity. Love,respect and positivity always. None of the Guys will ever be Forgotten.Thanks for this Video. 👍👌. Neita james. ✌🖖🕯💕🙂👋.

    I know Otis gets joked on a lot, but a musician understands one thing. Otis was the harmony glue. When Eddie sang lead, Otis sang the high falsetto just like Eddie. When David sang lead, Otis was the tenor hitting the 7th harmonies, or for the regular folk, the pretty colorful harmony.
    You also need someone that keeps the eyes on the prize. David wasn’t going to do it. Otis knew his voice wasn’t strong, but he knew harmonies. In a five man group, harmony is just as important as lead. Everyone has their part except Davis. Eddie was the dresser for the group. Paul the choreographer. Otis the business. Blue the mediator. David was the only one messing it up, so he had to get gone!!!

    • @aintnothingliketheoldskool

      No he wasn't half of you think you know everything about David his time with the group and his solo career let me guess it's the David had a ego? Some of you speak negatively on this man because y'all only think David was the bad guy in the group. Learn David's story before you judge him because at the end of the day David was a human being.

    • @Keepdapocket
      @Keepdapocket Рік тому +2

      @@aintnothingliketheoldskool my comment didn’t talk bad about David. My comment strictly said everyone has a role in a group. Regardless of his background, which I do know what it is, David was about David. I’ve never heard anyone talk bad about David. I’ve sat and played with The Funk Brothers in the mid 90’s. They all said David was cool. Actually, they said Otis was the one out of the group was an @sshole. My point being is Otis knew his role, and he was needed to keep the group moving forward.

      @Faithandseekerofchrist 9 місяців тому +1

      @@Keepdapocketyeah I heard stories about Otis being an ass from many other people and especially past members. Although Otis based on what I heard pretty much took it too far. I'm not sure which Temptation This was but he said that his health started to decline and he had to have surgery and Otis didn't care and was angry at him for something he couldn't control. It was done at that point he decided to quit The Temptations for good because I know he was on and off with them and that Otis started caring about the money versus the health of his fellow members. I believe that the only one he genuinely cared about the most was Melvin/Blue. They both were loyal to each other and as well as Motown but then blue passed away. If I'm not correct, I think this temptation member that had the surgery is probably deceased as well. I don't want to be incorrect but I think it was Richard Street. Otis may have been the glue to the group but at times he would take it way too far! 🤔

    • @Keepdapocket
      @Keepdapocket 9 місяців тому

      @@Faithandseekerofchrist yeah. I’ve heard those stories, too. I had the liberty of my musician Carter to play with some of the funks brothers in the early 90’s. Met a lot of Motown people. Crazy stories, man.
      But, yes, I’ve heard (personally) Otis was not the nicest dude. However, I have to give him a pass for MOST of it. Excluding health reasons, you can’t have side missing shows, high and drunk for the performances, missing meetings, etc. messing up the money. Someone has to be that “bad guy”, so to speak. Usually, people don’t like that.

    I am confused. Could somebody help me out here? Is this the same Otis Williams who had all those great R&B/dowop hits on the Deluxe Label (affiliated with King Records) as Otis Williams & the Charms in the 1950's - like "One Night Only", "Save Me Save Me", "Ivory Tower", and many many others? I still have a lot of those original 45's. I guess it couldn't be. There must have been two exceptionally good singers with the same name.

      It's kind of a mid-tenor range. Lower than Eddie's and David's voices but higher than Paul's and Melvin's voices.
