I went to school for political science and psychology... I did not finish my degree. I run a restaurant and I see opportunities all the time to mentor young men and women. I have the most joy when i see potential shining out of a young person and I can give them opportunities and advice that will help them along their paths to maturity and success. It is a great feeling and some times they come back to see me and share how grateful they are and sometimes i hear it from their families. If you see something say something is key with reinforcing positive behavior and propelling it to the forefront. Well said

Husbands, warriors, leaders, kings all *had* something in common. They took on *responsibility*, and most importantly were rewarded with just *authority*.
You can't have responsibility without some kind of authority, otherwise its no different than being a slave the societal system. Men *yearn* for responsibility, but the *laws and values* in our western society make taking on these responsibilities extraordinarily hard and unrewarding/unfulfilling.

    • @kevinkelly2162
      @kevinkelly2162 Рік тому

Some people, and not all of them men. have a natural authority. People listen when they speak, think about what they say. This is real leadership. If you are 'yearning' for responsibility just maybe you are not a natural leader and unworthy of any authority. Western society promotes unworthy people, especially men, to positions of authority. If you are losing in a society where the game is rigged in your favour, just maybe life is telling you something.

    • @adararelgnel2695

@@kevinkelly2162 authority doesn't have to be that broad. A father and husband will have authority in his household, a plumber will have authority in his field and with his clients. It's not about having authority over everyone all the time and having people naturally listen to you about anything. If it's something that you have taken the initiative to learn about, to study, that you have authority over, then yes, in the right context, people will listen. No need to be a natural leader, just competent in your field.

    • @plenaryverbalist
      @plenaryverbalist Рік тому +4

100% accurate. The reason feminism is such a cancer is that men are expected to take on responsibility without ever receiving the concurrent authority. That was a huge part of my internal dialogue the entire 15 years I was married. “Why the hell can’t I wear my hair the way I want or take the job I want, but I have to do all the unpleasant things?” The expectation was that I would be the protector, the provider, the disciplinarian, the chief cook and bottle washer for the family….as long as I did everything her way. We joke about it with the “happy wife, happy life” canard. We make fun of men in popular culture. We embolden and financially reward female adultery and divorce in family court. And then women wonder, “where are all the good men at?” They’re avoiding you because you want what you can get out of him while continuing to manipulate and control him. You deserve to be alone and forgotten, because using people for your own ends is unjust. And you will get it.

Good one on fatherhood. My meditation: both parents should facilitate a variety of experiences for their children and pay attention to the things that your children are good at and enjoy doing. This is exploration and discovery of their hierarchies of hopes and intelligences-which is mainly who a person is. Then use that knowledge of their hierarchies to guide and structure how you encourage them and facilitate further experiences which optimize their fulfillment of their hierarchies. You are not forcing them into your image, you are facilitating good flows within them by fitting how you treat them with the good hierarchic structures already within them; fulfilling the good image God gave them. Be their helper, be a team.
Be flexible since discovery occurs over time and feedback from reality affects identity to an extent. Find the balance between following and leading, freedom and force, which must always go together.
Normally the children will fulfill their potential and bear fruit according to how are the parents invested in them. Invest the minimum, receive the minimum. As many have learned and said, the number one investment is (quality) time, time invested in service of the valued purposes noted above. Time is life, time is everything else that you could be doing with your life at that moment; humans innately sense and understand this sacrifice/investment.
(Note: Time must be spent on multiple competing yet interdependent purposes, but the structure of a child’s need for time may often be incompatible with your need or desire to spend time on other purposes; therefore time must be managed among purposes wisely otherwise you may fail at all purposes. The solution to this problem is enabled by the fact that humans are willing to wait for-and even positively look forward to-what they hope for. So parents may often be able to make appointments with their children rather than simply except for deny time requests as they ‘chaotically’ happen.)
Normally the children inherit the hierarchy of values and system of beliefs that the parents actually lived out (versus the hierarchy of values they claim to have). They will automatically feel like valuing less what the parent actually valued less and valuing more what the parent actually valued more; the child is not necessarily fated to this structure of values, but it will be their default, which they may or may not put in the constant effort to resist and change. God wisely designed it this way; such a consequence should help motivate every parent. So, actively live out the hierarchy of values that you want your children to live according to.
(Note: it is not mere action that indicates your values; it is the attitude with which you act that reveals to the child how to interpret your action. Was your action done with resentment, just out of duty, in fear or guilt, for love of self and/or love of whom? The child can feel the answer, and will interpret and be shaped accordingly.)
How the parent relates to the world, to their mate, two the opposite sex, to work, to God, to themselves, to the world, to life, to the child - - will be the default model for how the child relates to and sees themselves and their relationship with all these things.
(Note: if some values/valued purposes in the parents’ hierarchies are perceived by the child as harmful, then the child will likely reject that value and may even angrily/resentfully react to embrace its opposite. This may even happen subconsciously because, again, these mechanisms of hierarchy/identity-formation are mostly automatic and subconscious.)

This is the bone I've got to pick with Jordan, how the hell is anyone supposed to know what the burning bush is, what it looks like and how to recognise it, like the 'the ideal feminine, the judgement that lays down the path of need's, i was too stupid too see it, and not until I was way out on the edge hanging on for grim death to a foggy idea did a muse present themselves and shine the necessary light upon that path. People need to know how, how to find the vision of the ideal, how to open your eyes to the divine.

Due to you inspiration of aiming high in our intentions for self and other. I came up on a word play for my daughters in the hope that the words would seed some of the highest aspirations of love they might seek out. It goes like this
    Guarding My Heart
I guard my heart with fervent care,
For I seek a man with love so rare,
A man whose soul is pure and bright,
Whose heart beats true, with shining light.
I yearn for the one who's kind and wise,
Whose love will make my spirit rise,
A man whose honor is his guide,
Whose love for me will never subside.
For I know that love is all we seek,
A love that's pure, and true, and meek,
And I will wait for the one who's right,
Whose love will fill my soul with light.
So I guard my heart from those untrue,
And wait for the one whose love is true,
A man who'll hold me in his arms,
And keep me safe from all life's harms.
For when he comes, my heart will know,
My soul will soar, my love will grow,
And we will dance in timeless grace,
Together, as one, in eternal embrace.

      A Man of Virtue
Oh, to be a man of virtue,
      With compassion in his soul,
To live a life of honor,
And to make his heart his goal.
To treat his fellow man with kindness,
And to love his neighbor true,
To be a friend to all who need him,
And to help them see it through.
For virtue is the key to happiness,
      And compassion is its guide,
To live a life of love and kindness,
And to never leave one's side.
So let us strive to live with virtue,
And to treat each other well,
For in the end, it is our kindness,
That will make our story tell.
And when the final day has come,
And we look back on our life,
May we be proud of all we've done,
And the love we shared in strife.
For there is no greater joy in life,
Than to be a man of virtue true,
To live a life of love and kindness,
And to make our hearts anew.

Humans are naturally social but usually do not want to be a clone. Unlike many leaders, Godly leaders are not obsessed with domination but the success and fulfillment of other humans. I guess about 10% of a population feels called to be a leader because of their natural physical and social attributes and desire for meaning and purpose. A large part of the remaining group naturally seek such a leader, often because they tend to be lazy. Both of them can get a feeling of meaning and purpose from that dynamic. Another 10% do not feel compelled to lead or be led but can still be desirous to be helpful when a neighbor needs help.

Hi Jordan, I want to offer you an interpretation of God's statement "I am that I am." It's essentially a statement of his great, holy and transcendent existence. He uses the phrase "I am" to represent that. "I am" represents the principal phenomenon of consciousness and awareness itself which is the basis of being. So a better way of reading the statement might go, "I am THAT, I am." Or to expand it even more, one might interpret it as " I am that great phenomenon of life, light and existence itself." That's effectively what it's conveying except that God knows Moses has the sensitivity to sense the immense gravity of what he was saying without expounding on it in such a way that I just did for our shared understanding. God's supreme humility had him state it very simply. He knew Moses would get the immensity and gravity of the statement.

Thank you for your vulnerability. I don't know you, and, I know something about the deep need for finding meaning, I'm on that journey myself, for like the hundredth time in life. You might try getting out in nature, as much as you can; nature is the closest thing to the sacred, put yourself there often. For many men, nature is the only thing that is larger than you, and part of finding meaning is coming into the awareness that there IS something bigger than you, and there really is something sacred in this life, which is closely connected to meaning. Quiet yourself there, and listen. This is a place of humility, which also isn't easy to stay in, but stay we must because the answers are arriving if only we make room for them. All earth is packed with heaven, make room because you're seeking and this is holy work (seeking), trust me, you're already on your way to what it is you seek. Go gently
